Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include why you should purchase the most expensive vehicle you can afford and why you need to avoid collisions with other cars during a race.

Purchase Expensive Cars

When you enter a race you will be given the option to purchase cars that are associated with that specific event. Providing you have the money it is advised that you always purchase a vehicle right at the end of the list. Although these vehicles will be more expensive it will be a lot better than wasting your time with those with lower skills. If you always purchase the fastest car and the car with the best handling in every class you will have more versatility in each race.

Avoid Collisions

Unless the objective of the race is to trade paint there is no benefit whatsoever in hitting other cars in the race so make sure you try and avoid collisions at all times. All that will happen when you bump into another car is it will cause you to spin out or lose momentum which can be detrimental to your position in the race.

Practice in Arcade Mode

The only way that you can become a better driver in Dirt 5 is to keep practicing. The game does not offer much in the way of a tutorial to learn the different aspects of the game, but it does have an Arcade mode which you can take advantage of to improve your driving skills. In Arcade mode you can pick the location, difficulty, and conditions of the race.
