Bully. Rockstar's T rated, schooled out GTA. Once you press the power button you see the GTA resemblance. Same font, same crooked people, same minimap feel, and everything else of that sort. While this game has the GTA look, with a more parent friendly "T" rating, it is not nearly as good as GTA and should NOT be mistaken for a game of that caleber.
The graphics are nothing special. There are flaws, wearing the bike helmet and putting on a mask over that but still seeing the helmet, and things of that nature. The characters are not hexagonal, but clothes are very pixelated and the characters themselves are nothing special to look at, but the game is not made by it's graphics, but by it's game play.
The sound disappointed me. The voice overs were above par, and the day-to-day sounds of school with the murmur of cheerleaders and nerds was great. But when your running around town it'd be nice to listen to some tunes. Not going to happen. There is no radio that you can use, and very few songs in the game. They got old really quick. I played Dane Cook most of the time while playing, grab your I-pod or play your stereo, because the music gets really old really quick.
The gameplay is a 10 out of 10. It is not as difficult as I hoped, but the gameplay is outstanding. The storyline and how you play through it is outstanding. The sniper slingshot and BMX bikes plus go-kart won my heart over. It is a Rockstar baby and plays like too.
Not worth the money for the lastability. IF you want, this game CAN be beaten, just all missions required and not much extra stuff. In 1 day, it will take you ALL day, but 1 day. If you play quickly and don't race through or slowly grind through, it will take you about a week to two weeks, maybe 3. While it does have a lot of collectables and fun races and little stupid things. The mission load is small, with short missions that are too easy for most. I found I only failed 3 missions and had to redo them. 2 because I ran out of time and passed out (there is a 2am curfew) and once because I didn't bother to read I had to do a mission using "stealth". This is one of those games for a 3 day weekend that you should rent.
This game is above my average line, but not by much. The only thing that saves this from being a sad game is the Rockstar gameplay and incredible storyline. It feels real and has all the quirks, but the game is not one that will go down in history as a great game. Its not honorable meantion. It is 10 second meantion in the Rockstar history documentary, when they listen their games and say how they attempted a more teen version of GTA series.
