Borderlands 2

Latest update by SuperCheats Wiki Admin on Dec 7th 2012

Welcome to the Borderlands 2 Wiki Vault Hunters!

Borderlands 2 is the direct sequel to the original Borderlands (2009) in which the original Vault Hunters Roland, Lilith, Mordecai, and Brick - guided by the The Guardian Angel - managed to find the Vault and confront the monster known as The Destroyer. Before they could take credit for their successes, a slick character named Handsome Jack claimed full credit for finding the vault and for defeating its guardian.

In the five years that have passed since those events, Handsome Jack parlayed his hold on the rare mineral "Eridium" that was released by the death of The Destroyer into full control over the Hyperion Corporation and a stranglehold on the planet of Pandora and all of its inhabitants. Constructing a massive satellite headquarters in a stationary orbit in front of Pandora's moon, Jack rules the planet with an iron fist, and lately that means doing in any Vault Hunters who show up in response to the rumors that have been spreading throughout the galaxy about a larger and more valuable vault hidden somewhere on the planet.

Nobody is more convinced of the existence of the new vault than Handsome Jack, and as a result he routinely lures any Vault Hunters that show up into traps that result in their deaths. Handsome Jack puts into place just such a plan when the next gen Vault Hunters turned up, luring Salvador (the Gunzerker), Axion (the Commando), Maya (the Siren) and Zer0 (the Assassin) onto a train that is later attacked by killer robots from Hyperion Corp that destroys the train in an isolated area of the frozen tundra.

The plan to kill the Vault Hunter goes sideways when the last surviving Claptrap robot on the planet somehow finds the Vault Hunter still alive and lures them back to the relative safety and comfort of the Claptrap's hovel. Once the Vault Hunter recovers the Claptrap shares his plan to escape the frozen hills and kill Handsome Jack, declaring the Vault Hunter as his minion and tool of vengeance, and that is where the story begins!
