Top 5 Presidents in Video Games

Let's be honest, what can possibly bring every American citizen together than the race to see what other talents and arsenal the president has to save the world. You would be surprised how much our president can do. Particularly when trying to save the world from a zombie invasion. With all the new weaponry available and teaming up with other superpowers, victory is usually inevitable. Naturally, there are a lot of appearances of presidents in games but we decided to show you our five favorites.

Throughout gaming history, has there ever been a bond stronger than presidents and video games? Metal Gear Solid 2 just wouldn’t be the same without President Solidus Snake. The same holds true for Bad Dudes and President Ronnie. Once, there was a zombie president in both the Destroy All Humans game and also Resident Evil. In Destroy All Humans, a fictional president had a very corrupt brain and was implanted into the body of a giant cyborg. The real commanders in chief of America in video games also appear and they do not come as robots. Remember, make that vote count. Find the right president to do the job and you will be sure to be safe and sound with these great men fighting for us or each other. Okay, enough of the chitchat and nonsense. So among the top 5 presidents in video games, here are five of our faves:

Code Name S.T.E.A.M starring Abe Lincoln

Among the top 5 presidents in video games, Abraham Lincoln is still the one to beat. It really comes as no surprise that every president is compared to Honest Abe Lincoln, and for good reason. With an unsurpassed legacy and accomplishments longer than his arms, Abe Lincoln is the president to beat. In Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., his abilities go beyond his innate intelligence. In fact, he is put in a war that determines the fate of the world and has to battle the ancient compatriot Shugguth of ancient Cthulhu. This game barrels you into a notoriously complicated plot. The Lady Liberty airship pilot is Mr. Lincoln and he leads a battle to strike aliens. After all, S.T.E.A.M. stands for StrikeTeam Eliminating the AlienMenace so it goes to follow that the alien foe battle is led by our beloved president. He even teams up with Tom Sawyer, Dorothy, Scarecrow, Lion and Tiger Lily. Of course, the war is usually won by Abe.

Call of Duty Black Ops Starring Richard Nixon and JFK

Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy team up with Robert McNamara the Secretary of Defense as well as Fidel Castro, the communist dictator to take down zombies that eat flesh. Throughout the story, the politicians appear and cross paths with one zombie after another and move through the undead blazing away and slaying every zombie.

The recurring characters and ongoing story line is what keeps gamers coming back. Takeo Masaki and Tank Demsey are some zombie stalwarts that gamers have come to love. Of course, the newest protagonists including Richard Nixon are simply irresistible.

Reagan and Gorbachev starring President Reagan

One of the most iconic presidents in America is without a doubt Ronald Reagan. In Reagan Gorbachev, the two political giants cast their differences aside to get some no good terrorists mowed down. Inspired by Hotline Miami, military extremist kidnap Gorbachev and Ronnie and force the two to become one team in order to find an escape route. This leads to a ton of jokes about the Cold War, stabbing and shooting.

Developed by Team2Bit, this game is tongue in cheek and provokes some thought about world politics and dark times. At the same time, terrorists by the thousands are murdered gleefully by every player.

Ready to Rumble: Round 2 Starring Bill Clinton

These days, the talk of the town is definitely Hillary Clinton. However, in the nineties, all everyone talked about was Bill. Whether he was hooking up with the White House help or making new policies, all everyone wanted to discuss was Bill Clinton. The question that was in everyone’s mind was of course, who would win if there was a fight between Hillary and Bill? The Midway game developer team came to the rescue by putting this great question to rest. In the Ready 2 Rumble series second entry this husband and wife duo went up against each other. Other names on the roster included Big Willy Johnson, Afro Thunder and Michael Jackson, the King of Pop.

The First Lady and Mr President have the ability to throw haymakers, hooks and jabs at each other as much as you wanted. This just showed the world that sometimes, a flashy boxing match is all you need to solve political issues.

NBA Jam Starring Barack Obama

Since the 1993 arcades were graced by NBA Jam, the oddball celeb cameos, flaming hoops in basketball and dunk that defied gravity really boosted the game’s success. Everyone from Al Gore to the Beastie Boys stepped on the court of NBA Jam to play some hoops. However, no one in the history of NBA Jam was more suitable for putting down a few hoops that Barack Obama, the President of the United States of America. Notorious for hitting jumpers and breaking ankles on the court in real life, it makes sense that the On Fire Edition of NBA Jam starred the president. In fact, not too long ago, the Jam roster is joined by Obama as a member of the team of Democrats along with Joe Biden, vice president of the USA. Bill and Hillary Clinton were also on the team and of course it comes as no surprise that Bill got the team’s best stats.

Unlock the game and the Democratic team along with Obama are put against the team of republicans featuring John McCain, Sarah Palin, Dick Cheney and George W. Bush. Whether gaming aficionados want to see some friendly play against Bus, Palin or the LA Lakers or simply to hit some hoops, NBA makes your wish a reality. Keep in mind though; Obama is no pushover when it comes to the basketball courts.
