Top 10 Video Game CS/Play Movies

02. Hitman: Absolution

Developed by IO Interactive and published by Square Enix, Hitman: Absolution is a stealth video game that tells the continuing story of Agent 47, the consummate hitman.

The fifth installment in the Hitman game series, the game was released on 20 November 2012 (which is in the 47th week of the year as an homage to Agent 47) for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. A stealth-action play, its storied history and very large following make it one of the most popular series in the last decade.

The video embedded below features only the cut scenes - no game play - not because a full CS/Game Play cut is not available, but because this is one of the rare titles in our list whose story is fully told just via cut scene alone.

The game is set in the United States, specifically around the city of Chicago, Illinois, and a fictional town called Hope in South Dakota.

Its story follows up on the issues that were hinted at from the previous game, its focus on 47's handler, Diana Burnwood, and the International Contract Agency.

Burnwood goes off the rails - or so it seems - and disappears after carrying out a catastrophic sabotage against the Agency. The Agency is forced to reform under the lead of Agent Benjamin Travis, who dispatches 47 to kill Diana and bring the package that she stole - a young clone named Victoria = back into the fold.

The problem is that 47 doesn't completely trust the new Agency, and still has ties to Burnwood. That results in his own defection - with the girl - and that pits the world against them.

As the story plays out the player uncovers the details of the corruption that still plagues the Agency, answering questions (some of which have lingered throughout the entire series) and revealing for the first time some of the darkest secrets of the series.

Its use of cinematic effects and structure make it a natural fit for our list - and the interesting but bad characters make it all worthwhile.
