Top 5 Lovable Forgivable Bad Guys

1. Mithos Yggdrasill (Tales of Symphonia)

It's been a decade since Tales of Symphonia released on Gamecube, but rarely has a game taken plot twists to this magnitude. This story features Mithos as someone who appears to be an innocent and benevolent child. In fact, that name is used in tales of legends; it represents an ancient warrior who saved their universe. With a name like that, it seems like destiny to accompany the party of heroes to restore order.

Then, suddenly, around halfway through the lengthy journey, something drastically changes. When Yggdrasill takes the stage as the main antagonist, it becomes painfully clear that a book can't be judged by its cover. It's definitely a huge surprise to see such an adorable character turn face, but that's what makes this so gut-wrenching. This was supposed to end well for all, even Mithos.

And it's not like the child had such evil inside. Originally, their goal was to save a dying relative. Only, the problem is that in doing so, the rest of the world needs to die. So, even by being the supreme evil, Mithos vows for justice, not chaos.

Redeeming qualities here are undeniable. If blowing up the universe is still forgivable, anything is possible.
