Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include the best way to get cash and a trick to easily hack locks.
You will find things everywhere in Anno: Mutationem and the most efficient way to locate anything of value is to just tap your scan button whenever you enter a room. When you do this every container that holds an item will glow. The three types of items you will obtain are consumables, junk and collectables. Any junk you find can be sold when you get to a store, collectables need to be kept as they can be broken down into valuable items that are worth lots of money if you sell them. Only sell valuable items if you are desperate for the cash.
You will come across lots of consumables in Anno: Mutationem and some of them will be more valuable than others. At the start of the game you will only be able to carry 5 items in your backback, so you need to make sure you prioritize the most beneficial consumables when filling it up. To begin with the most important item until they get supplanted by the more potent Digitalin are Stim shots. Another important item you will want to hang onto is Corn Juice. Erythropoietin and 654-2 are also useful as they increase your damage output and decreases the damage you receive respectively.
Make sure whenever you complete the side missions whenever you encounter them as some of them provide you with grom points which can be used to upgrade your primary stats. There are exactly enough grom points in Anno: Mutationem to level up every stat in your talent tree which is why you should do all the side missions. Side missions don't take too long and tend to be easy to complete, you may even find that you end up completing some of them completely by accident.
You will unlock a mini-game at your family's bar during the early game of Anno Mutationem that pays out a lot of cash. The objective of this mini-game is to mix the drinks that the patrons request. To get the highest payout you need to get 700 points which is seven perfectly prepared drinks. If you are patient and deliberate you will have no problem getting plenty of cash from this mini-game.
The map in Anno: Mutationem is invaluable when you reach the end of the game and are looking for things that you missed. It tells you where you have been, what rooms you have yet to enter, where there are NPCs waiting to receive an item (marked with a star) and where the side missions are located (marked with a question mark).
Chips can be purchased from vendors in Anno: Mutationem, they can then be remodeled at the FT Chip Shop Headquarters, which is located in Noctis City on the main stretch of shops to make them substantially more potent than the standard ones that are for sale. Take advantage of this function as doing so will make the game a lot easier.
Hacking locks at the start of Anno: Mutationem is simple but as you progress further into the game they will become a lot trickier as certain cylinders begin to shift as you shift others. If you use the following simple trick you will be able to defeat most of these locks. Just start from the bottom cylinder and move up, you may have to cycle through the cylinders twice.
