You can ask a friend for their invite code, go to the Friends section and choose "add by code" then enter the code given. There are also daily friend suggestions that come up under the invite tab in the Friends section, where you have the option to send add requests at random but please note that as these people do not know who you are, your invitation may be rejected. Alternatively you can also give your code to a friend for them to add you. You can locate your code by tapping the "add by code" in the Friends section and choosing invite. You will then be given your invite code.

You must combine the collection in order for it to be "completed". The items needed for combining are listed and you can get them from successfully searching pictures. The first number listed is how many you have and the second how many you need. For your winding key, you have 12, but need 4 to combine that collection. So you have 8 extra keys you can use on another collection. If you click on the picture of the item you need, it tells you what pictures drop them.
