Use the 'Speed-Up' icon wisely because although it will increase the speed of your ship dramatically it also means that your reactions need to be just as quick if you want to avoid death.

Make a point of collecting the Mega Laser power-up as it gives you the ability to cut a swathe through enemy ranks and asteroid fields.

Don't waste your shots because once have you run out of ammo you will not be able to return fire until you have collected more.
