Cleaning a peral covers to know ball problem

Ok I got a brand new peral ball, used it on a lane during the afternoon non league. The ball build up good energy and had high pin action.went home used tacky ball cleaner and when I used the ball again it was not the same. I had to move into more oil for it to give me some pin action. Was it the ball cleaner? Should I use original ball polish that says it puts your ball back to new performance?
