Characters can be improved by evolving them using Soul Stones. The number of Soul Stones for a card varies depending on the rarity and their star rating but when you have collected all of the required Soul Stones you will be able to summon that character and add them to your party.

Having a healer in your party can make a huge difference as they will be able to help sustain your party during battles and arena fights.
