Introduction

This time I am talking about Amerzone, an graphic interactive story that can offer a really interesting point of view. We are taslking about Amerzone, that will bring you in a strange but interesting story about a long disappeared race of white birds, in a far away South America country. It's a story with a "retr" background, and I can assure that it's absolutely fashinating.

Graphics

The graphics is extremely good, with a lot of beautiful locations that you can freely look, thanks to a 360 point of view system.
I have rarely seen something similar in my entire life.
Sometimes is quite difficult to guess all the interaction points in the background: where you can find objects or access other locations, for example. In this case, the mouse pointer will
Help you, turning into helping icons that can help you, showing interactions points, and suggesting you which type of action is available.

Sound

The sound is almost perfect.
During the game you will hear only a little music, usually coming from objects present in that location, like an old type of gramophone.
Background sounds are instead almost always present, and gives you a surrounding experience
Absolutely beautiful. You can hear the sound of the waves, the scrams of the gull wings, and a lot of other fascinating sounds.
Voices are really a masterpiece. I have bought the Italian version of the game, and I can assure you that this time they did a very good acting. Voices are crystal, without any type of disturb and perfectly translated.
A real joy for my ears.

Gameplay

Controls are good, but a little restricted, during the entire adventure the only thing you can do is to turn around searching for interacting points in the background, and try to use them to proceed in the game.
Good controls, but I think they are ruined from the too simple use you can do of them in the adventure.

Lastability

Like all adventures, once you have finished Amerzone, you will put it away for a long time, but not so long, I think.
Amerzone has an unique style, and you will, soon or after, take this game back from the shelf to see these scenarios again, live the story, and hear the beautiful sounds one more time.

Overall

This is not a perfect game, of course, it's an interacting tale, something different from the graphic adventures you were used.
This game can fascinate you, and making you use your brain to proceed through the game, but you have to take it for what it really is: an interacting tale, no more, no less.
If you will accept the nature of the game, you will be able to live one of the most interesting experience of all games.

Final Score: 86%
