Introduction

Adventure Quest is a free online turn-based RPG made by Atrix Entertainment. You go around as a hero defeating monsters, completing quests and getting new equipment. Guardianship and X-Guardianship is the form of memebership in Adventure Quest and can be bought to unlock more features in the game. Z-Tokens are Adventure Quest's paid currency, and can be used to buy powerful equipment for your character.

Graphics

Adventure quest is a fairly old game and was created in 2002. Many updates to the graphics have been made, and the new graphics look pretty good, however there is always the chance that you might encounter a monster with it's old graphics, which look horrible compared to the newer graphics.

Sound

Adventure quest just has a few sound effects based on the element of an attack you are using against the monster. The only music in the game require you to buy an item costing Z-Tokens that you can use in battle to play a specific track. There is literally no free music in the game, unless you count the short bits of music featured in a few cutscenes in the game.

Gameplay

The gameplay is ok. You fight a monster and select an armor, shield, and misc that defends the best against the element that the monster attacks in. You also select a weapon, pet, guest and cast spells that will do the most damage against the monster's defences. There are eight basic elements in the game; Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Earth, Energy, Light and Darkness, along with the 'unavoidable' elements; Void, Purple, Harm and Death. The main combat part, though, is just spamming attack and healing, or casting spells and regaining mana. Most monsters are also underpowered, just with high health.

Lastability

Adventure quest is not very lastable. The game is easy at first, with a level up every few kills, but gets harder and more tedious after a few levels. Also, there is a daily exp and gold cap in this game, which makes it impossible to gain too many levels in a day. You would have to spend at least 3 months to get to the highest level. Monsters can take up to an hour to defeat in the later levels. With time, the game won't be very intresting.

Overall

The game can be worth trying if you are intrested in turn based combat. After the game engine got updated, the levels are way easier to gain, and you can get more exp and gold per day. The graphics are way better now, and the game gets updates every Friday, more often than most other games.

Final Score: 56%
