Can anyone tell me how to find the bow I have reached the lake but cannot go further without the bow & arrow

The only thing you need the Bow and Arrows for at Lake Hylia is to get the Fire Arrows.
You need to go to the Forest Temple (in the Sacred Forest Meadow). Use the hookshot (recieved from Dampe in the grave) to enter. The Bow and Arrows are found about half way through the Forest Temple.
