I found out that you must have the dog in a good mood and it must know the requiring moves well. So for a back flip your dog only has to sit and then jump. For a front flip it must roll over then jump. It seems very simple! I myself am a player of Nintendogs + cats myself. My dog dawn has all the moves known but no secret ones yet.

Sometimes in disc comps if your dog is a fast runner and gets a good run up (so the the championships are great to test this on) your dog may jump for the disc and flip over and get it or it may not get the disc but it's really cool!! Sadly you don't get extra points for flips and any dog can do it like my old dog Cutie was a basset hound and did a flip so it's possible for a long dog to do it!!! Hope this helps!!!

Your dog has to be fed and in a good mood to do the flip. You have to clearly say the words 'Sit' and when your dog sits, say 'jump' if your dog doesn't know how to do those moves then teach them to it. Hopefully it should work. It probably will take a few tries before your dog does it!
