Below is a collection of tips that will you progress faster and more efficiently in 100 Days at Sea.
Early Game (Surviving Day 1-20)
- Always grab floating crates early on - they're your main source of starter loot.
- Collect wood first; everything else comes second early game.
- Don't ignore barrels, even if you're busy building.
- Keep a small stash of food at all times; hunger hits fast early on.
- Watch your water supply more than food - water runs out quicker.
- Craft a fishing rod as soon as you can.
- Don't expand your raft too fast, or you'll struggle to manage resources.
- Don't waste planks on decorative builds early on.
- Place storage chests near your crafting area to save time.
- Keep a small emergency food reserve and don't touch it unless needed.
Mid Game (Building Stability & Efficiency)
- Always repair damage immediately after storms.
- Try to sail toward clusters of debris instead of random open water.
- Don't hoard useless items - inventory fills up quickly.
- Upgrade your raft's direction control so you don't drift aimlessly.
- If you see islands, always check them for better loot.
- Don't ignore small islands - some hide crates.
- Learn barrel spawn patterns so you can predict drift routes.
- Fishing at night can be safer since you're less distracted.
- Keep an eye on tool durability before long resource runs.
- Build a small shelter roof if weather effects are active.
- Use storms to your advantage since more debris spawns after them.
- Don't waste time chasing every floating item - be selective.
Late Game (Efficiency, Survival, Optimization)
- Upgrade raft lighting early if night threats exist.
- Store rare materials instead of using them immediately.
- Keep at least one backup tool in storage at all times.
- Avoid building too far out on raft extensions - it can get risky.
- Always stay near your raft when looting the sea.
- If playing with friends, assign roles (builder, fisher, explorer).
- If you're stuck, just drift and gather instead of rushing plans.
- Learn when to ignore loot - smart routes matter more than constant collecting.
