This is a guide displaying all of the Halo3 infomation and even a long guide about the Halo 3 medals that can be earned in Custom games or Matchmaking. Now the guide basicaly displays everything that is in the game like the vehicles, ranks, enemies, weapons and basic infomation such as the controls to the game. It has a big part to the Halo 3 medals in this guide which it was originaly made for, but I decided to put a big main faq instead of just the medals in it. Read the infomation below for a detailed introduction to the medals guide in this faq. I will list how to achieve the medals in Matchmaking and custom games. This guide also displays the definition of the medals and tells you how they look like in appearence too. The medals come all in different colours and sizes, different shapes and different emblems. Some of which may be put as your emblem in Halo3 such as the "Extermination medal". If you want to take a look at the medals in appearence, I recomend using google images, type the medal name in Google images and it should show up, showing you the emblem background and the colours of the medal. Medals can be earned by different ways listed in this guide. Read on with the guide and take a look at the world of Halo3 medals. ========================================================================= A1.2: What is medals and how do you earn them? ---------------------------------------- Medals are a symbol of a good in-game achievment instead of doing just a normal basic one on one match with Assault rifles (etc). They symbolise an award of great combat. This includes, assassanations, Double kills, splatters (Etc). To earn them, you have to do a special task, such as "Splatter somebody with a vehicle such as a mongoose". They show up on your TV screen when you perform these tasks. It shows a symbol with an emblem and a background in colours that symbolise and show the different medal types. Many tasks are permitted for different medals. Read on through the faq to learn more. ========================================================================= A1.3: Version history --------------- Version 1.0, 8/23/08 - Started the guide. Ok, that is all the description of each medal in the game, now go play Halo3 and get some new medals you have just learned about Halo3. These medals can be achieved in Matchmaking and it can be earned in Custom games. I hope I've helped. ========================================================================= B2.4: Medal achievements ------------------ Here in this guide, this displays the achievements you can earn in "Matchmaking". The playlist must be under the heading "Ranked" in order to achieve these achievements. I will now list the medals for the achievements and how to earn them and what they have to concern ith the medals. I will also display how much gamerscore it is worth. Killing Frenzy (Worth 5 Gamerscore) ----------------------------------- This medal concerns the medal "Killing frenzy". To achieve this medal, you must play a "ranked playlist". You must "kill 10 enemys in a row without dying". I recomend you play "Ranked Big Team" as there is many people to kill, but beware, good stealth will make this a easier task to get. Overkill (Worth 5 Gamerscore) ----------------------------- This medal concerns the medal "Overkill". To achieve this medal, you must again, play a "Ranked playlist". You must "Kill 4 enemies in a time limit of "4 seconds" without dying. I recomend you play "Team Swat" as kills can easily be obtained by simply one round of Battle Rifle bullets to an enemies head. Stealth is not as much needed but a quick press of the trigger will make this one more easier. Mongoose Mowdown (Worth 5 Gamerscore) ------------------------------------- This medal concerns the medal "Splatter". To achieve this medal, you must now, play a "Ranked playlist". You must "Splatter 1 enemy" to achieve this easy medal. I recomend you play "Ranked Big Team" as there are many enemies to choose from and kill, also the maps called "Sandtrap and Vahalla" normally contain mongoose's. Maybe Next Time Buddy (Worth 5 Gamerscore) ------------------------------------------ This medal concerns the medal "Hijack". To achieve this medal, you must play a "Ranked playlist". You must "Hijack an enemys same vehicle that he Hijacked you from in the next 10 seconds after him Hijacking you". I recomend you play "Ranked Big Team" again as the map "Vahalla and Sandtrap" normally contains many vehicles to choose from. Tip: Take a vehicle and drive close to an enemy and wait for him to Hijack you, now try and get close to the vehicle and as soon as the message appears for Hijack, hit RB to amediatly Hijack the enemy and the achivement is yours. ************************************************************************* Matchmaking modes to get medals in and what the games are? ************************************************************************* Section 3: I will display all of the types of Matchmaking/Matchmade games that you can achieve all of the medals in to have that certain medal collected to your overall medal collection of Halo 3. I will also sort the Matchmaking/Matchmade games into two catorgries, "Social" and "Ranked" games. Some medals can not be earned in certain games such as "Extermination" on the Ranked game "Team Doubles" as there is only two enemies at a time and you need four kills in a matter of seconds, as the enemies spawn at the other end of the map so you will not make it by a far amount of time. I will not list the medals that you can get as you can 'almost' get every medal on each game. ========================================================================= (A): Section 1 --------- Social games ------------ C3.1 Social Slayer C3.2 Big Team Battle/Social C3.3 Rocket Race C3.4 Rumble Pit C3.5 Social Skirmish C3.6 Multi Team ========================================================================= Social game definitions ----------------------- C3.1: Social Slayer ------------- Team ammount: 3-4 (On each team) 6-8 (All players) Game Types: Team Snipers, Team Slayer, Shotty Snipers, Team BRs. Game colours: Red and Blue. Maps: Vahalla, High ground, Construct, Last Resort, Narrows, Snowbound, Foundry, Standoff, Rats Nest and The Pit. Score to reach: 50 Personally my favourite game. What you have to do is you are a team of 3-4 (Depending on if there isn't enough players for teams of 4) and you have to kill the enemies on the opposing team. You are either one of the two colours, Red or Blue to identify you, your team and your enemies. There are many different maps with different games to play on, such as "Vahalla" with "Shotty Snipers" as there is plenty of hiding spots and is a longrange map ideal for this map. So the aim of the game is to kill the enemy team until the time runs out or one team reaches the score, 50. ========================================================================= C3.2: Big Team Battle/Social ---------------------- Team ammount: 7-8 (On each team) 14-16 (All players) Game Types: Nuetral assault, Team Slayer, CTF, Team BRs. Game colours: Red and Blue. Maps: Vahalla, Last Resort and Sandtrap Score to reach: 100, Plant 1 bomb, plant 3 flags, kill 10 VIPS, Capture of TerrortoriesTerrorotories. My first game I used to play. What you have to do is you are a team of 7-8 (Depending on if there isn't enough players for teams of 8) and you have to kill the enemies on the opposing team or plant bombs, Capture terrortories (ETC). You are either one of the two colours, Red or Blue to identify you, your team and your enemies. There are 3 different maps with different games to play on, such as "Sandtrap" with "CTF" as this map is a very big map ideal for this map/game. So the aim of the game is to kill the enemy team or do the objective like Capture all of the terrotories until the time runs out or one team reaches the score, 100. ========================================================================= C3.3: Rocket Race ----------- Team ammount: 2 (On each team) 8 (All players) Game Types: Rocket Race Game colours: Red, Blue, Green and Orange. Maps: Vahalla, Rats Nest and Sandtrap Score to reach: Be the first to go through laps until you reach the score of 10 laps. One of the fun games. What you have to do is you are a team of 8 (Depending on if there isn't enough players for teams of 8) and you have to race through all of the checkpoints before the enemy teams get through all of the checkpoints first. You are either one of the two colours, Red or Blue to identify you, your team and your enemies. There are 3 different maps to play this fun game on. So the aim of the game is to get through the laps/checkpoints 10 times before your enemy teams. ========================================================================= C3.4: Rumble Pit ---------- Team ammount: 6 (All players) Game Types: Slayer Game colours: Own Armor Colours. Maps: Any Score to reach: 25 kills I only played it about once. What you have to do is you are a team of 6 and you have to beat your enemy team before they get the kills by killing enemies on the opposing team until you get to the score of 25. Your armor is your own colour armor colours to play with, so make sure it isn't the same colours of an enemy. So the aim of the game is to kill the enemy team until the time runs out or one person reaches the score, 25. ========================================================================= C3.5: Social Skirmish --------------- Team ammount: 5 (One each team) 10 (All players) Game Types: CTF, VIP, Oddball, King of the hill, Terrotories and Nuetral assault. Game colours: Red or Blue. Maps: Any Score to reach: Varies I only played it about five times. What you have to do is you are a team of 5 and you have to beat your enemy team before they get the kills by killing enemies on the opposing team until you get to the score of 25. This is more of a fun game based on different activitys like CTF, capturing terrorotories and much more fun things to do. Your armor is your own colour armor colours to play with, so make sure it isn't the same colours of an enemy. So the aim of the game is to kill the enemy team until the time runs out or one person reaches the score of the game. ========================================================================= C3.6: Multi team ---------- Team ammount: 2 (One each team) 8 (All players) Game Types: CTF, VIP, Oddball, Team Swords, Team Hammers, King of the hill, Terrotories, Team Slayer and Nuetral assault. Game colours: Red, Green, Orange and Blue. Maps: Any Score to reach: Varies My second most favourite game. What you have to do is you are a team of 2 and you have to beat your enemy team before they get the kills or getting the objective done like capturing a flag and by killing enemies on the opposing team until you get to the score of whatever the score of the game type is. You are either one of the four colours, Red, Green, Orange or Blue to identify you, your team and your enemies. So the aim of the game is to kill the enemy team until the time runs out or one person reaches the score of the game. ************************************************************************* (B): Section 1 --------- Ranked -------- 3.7 Lone wolfs 3.8 Team Doubles 3.9 Team Slayer 3.10 Team Objective 3.11 Ranked Big Team ========================================================================= Ranked game definitions ----------------------- C3.7: Lone Wolfs ---------- Team ammount: 1 (On each team) 6 (All players) Game Types: Team Swords, Team Slayer, Team Hammers, Team BRs. The enemies are very weak by attack formation and very weak to gunfire shots and Grenades. Sticking enemies with Grenades seems to be very easy as it is a instant kill. The game plays itself as it says in the desrciption. This game can easily be played by a single player as the Master Chief. So give this ago if you are new to the game. A real big problem is Brute shots as they are like mini frag Grenades. ***** NOTE: When you complete Easy mode, you do not get 125 gamerscore as completion of Easy mode. ***** ========================================================================= H8.2: Normal ~~~~~~ Difficulty: 5/10 Badge emblem: A Blue shield with one diagonal Sword Completing Normal Achievement: yes (125 gamerscore) Hi to all you people who are ready for more of a fight. This is a bit harder than Easy mode, this mode is still easy for people with average skill. Still sticking enemies is easy still, but enemies take a few more bullets to damage and kill them. Brute shots are a bit of a problem as they take quite a bit of your armor shield down. Be quick and swift and you will get through this mode. ***** NOTE: When you complete Normal mode, you get 125 gamerscore as completion of Normal mode. ***** ========================================================================= H8.3: Heroric ~~~~~~~ Difficulty: 7.5/10 Badge emblem: A Blue shield with two diagonal Swords Completing Heroric Achievement: yes (125 gamerscore) Right, need quite a bit of some skill here. This will put you to the test. I advise you play at least Normal before you try this mode. Brutes become harder and Grunts throw more Grenades. Brute Shots are now a big problem as they take much armor away, Be good at dodging and good at sticking enemies. A quick press of the trigger will put these aliens in their place. ***** NOTE: When you complete Heroric mode, you get 125 gamerscore as completion of Heroric mode. ***** ========================================================================= H8.4: Legendary ~~~~~~~~~ Difficulty: 9.5/10 Badge emblem: A Blue shield with two diagonal Swords with an Elite Skull Completing Legendary Achievement: yes (125 gamerscore) Oh my..... Now you really need to be proffesional and I would advsie you play with at least another player to help you. Brute shots basically (Even just one) can drain all your armor and the next can kill you. Grunts seem quite skilled too. Stealth, aiming skills, Grenades, loads of ammo and a partner is needed to play for this devistating mode. ***** NOTE: When you complete Legendary mode, you get 125 gamerscore as completion of Legendary mode. ***** Remember, may the force be with you my friends. :) ************************************************************************* List of Weapons ************************************************************************* Section 9: I9.1: Human Weapons I9.2: Covernant Weapons I9.3: Brute Weapons I9.4: Forerunner weapons ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I9.1: Human Weapons ------------- 1. Gravity Hammer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I9.4: Forerunner Weapons ------------------ 1. Sentinel Beam ========================================================================= *************************************** Weapon effectivity/tactic descriptions: *************************************** Plasma pistol ************* A standard plasma weapon, capable of firing one plasma per press of the trigger. Just a small blob that hardly does any damage to anything.... OR IS IT? NO, you can charge it up and it will become a power drainer, shoot an enemy and their armor will drain, or shoot a vehicle and it wont move. NOTE: Only use at charged, never uncharged. Also if you charge it, it drains the amount of power in it though. Rocket launcher *************** One of the two powerfulest UNSC weapons . Use these at close distance to get a better aim at the enemy. Use it for ground enemies and for ground vehicles, not air vehicles as it will most probarly miss, the lock-on was taken out, replaced by a Spartan Laser, the other most powerful weapon. NOTE: Use for packs of enemies and for ground vehicles only Spartan Laser ************* The other most powerful weapon, there are a one hit kill weapon, so use it carefully as you can only use one spartan laser five times, use it for destroying vehicles or for a few enemies, this should be used to take out air vehicles rather then the rocket launcher. NOTE: It takes time to recharge so keep it charged in case of a suprise. Shotgun ******* One of the UNSC's most powerfull weapons. With a weapon like this, shooting an enemy at very close range will be an instant kill. Use whenever you get the oppertunity. Much better than the Brute Mauler. NOTE: Use this at short range Sniper Rifle ************* The UNSC's most best long range weapon, a high powered rifle. It one bullet to take out an enemy in the head and/or takes two bullets in the body to kill an enemy. Always stand in a descreet area or high place and stay invisible from them then when the enemy appers, kill them. NOTE: Always try to go for a head shot as i is more powerful and it saves a bit more ammo/bullets. Battle Rifle ************ A much stronger weapon than the Assault Rifle, but fires 3 bullets at a time. Always aim at the head to get a more accurate and definite kill. It even has a small scope on it to get a mid range on to it. NOTE: Use this as your primary weapon, it is short/medium range and has a scope with high power, this should be your primary weapon. ************************************************************************* Grenades ************************************************************************* Section 10: J10.1: Frag Grenade -- Human J10.2: Plasma Grenade -- Covernant J10.3: Spike Grenade -- Brute J10.4: Incinerdery Grenade -- Unknown ************************************************************************* Equipment ************************************************************************* Section 11: K11.1: Bubble Shield K11.2: Deployable Cover K11.3: Powerdrain K11.4: Gravity Lift K11.5: Flare K11.6: Regenerator K11.7: Radar Jammer K11.8: Trip Mine K11.9: Cloaking K11.10: Auto Turret K11.11: Invincibility ************************************************************************* Enemies ************************************************************************* Section 12: L12.1: Enemies These are all of the enemies in the game of Halo3.
