While going through the King Arthur museum I came across a couple of ?statues? That were set up in scenery boxes. My R.A.D. Identified them as mechanisms but I never actualy used them. Does anyone know what they are for?

You are in a museum/theme park for the first part of the level. The statues are displays. If you had pushed the buttons, you would have heard part of the King Arthur story as well as some conversations between Laura, Zip, and Alister.
The statues (not all of them mind you, just some of them) are the switches (or triggers maybe is a better choice of word) for accessing secret doors and rooms or opening secret panels. The one you saw is the one with the spear - just use Lara's Grapple to attach to the Spear and pull on it to move the Spear and open the secret door.
