I have a family with 2 elderly (parents) and 2 young adults (my children), I would like to start a new family with one of my children, but I don't want her to move out of my current house, so, I was thinking that if I got to the move icon and then put my "parents" in the kick out section and my daughter in the old house section and no one in the new house section then, she would own the house! Will this work? Thank you!

No, don't thinks so, but to get rid of your sim/s you could try getting one of them married to a sim in another household, then you would get a box asking who you want to move in where. You can then dump all unwanted sims in the house that you DON'T own. I'm know this works getting married, I'm not sure about just becoming friends then moving in. If all else doesn't work, kill them.
Yes that would work but they will be removed from the game forever
