How can i beat Silver?

Hello, I've just bought an Xbox 360 and I am totally addicted to Sonic the Hedgehog, once I finally got the hang of it. I have just met Siler and I have to defeat him, I am having major trouble doing so. I even asked my 8 year old and he's no help. I can just about manage to hit him once (if I'm lucky) can anyone help either a hint or cheat thanks
Comment:(Feb 22 2008) OK i figured it out basically keep sliding around the edges using your anti-gravity chip, always remebering to keep hold of a ring. When silver glows try to slide into him and run away really fast, that way you should gradually knock his powerbar down.

Just run around until Silver says how about this and either homing attack him or trip him

I agree with sonic1414 but just run and use the sliding kick.using the homing attack is risky since silver gets up quick and you'll still be in the air probaly
