How long do you have to hold the skull to obtain it?I've held it for like 15 minutes but it didn't work.

You also have to be on normal difficulty or above. It won't work on easy

There are two different types of skulls gold and silver you can only get acheivements for the gold skulls
Just pick up a gold skull than drop it
You can pick it back up for a weapon

Well, are you playing on easy, because if you are, it won't work. You get achievments from gold skulls only. All you need to do is pick it up then drop it. Sometimes I like to pick it up and use it as a weapon.

The skull in halo 3 are not lik e the sklls n halo 2. They don't activate when you get them. Once you get the skull wait 15 seconds then quit. Hit the x button. It should come up as a page with 13 skull vpics on it. The skulls that are colored in are the skull that you have.
