You can try to take a few rad aways with you, or buy a few radiation suits / advanced radiation suits from crater side supply [ megatown ] or the market place in rivet city, get a decent repair level and buy a few of the suits and repair them.

If you are up north near yhe top of the map [ where I found my ship ] there is a disposal site there [ I think it's called evergreen disposal ]

Out in the field you will see a shack or shipping cotainer there i8s a radiation suit there, but it needs repair to fully work. Also there is low level radiation at the site.

The only ammo for that gun is what is there, there are no others anywhere and you can't buy any. So use them wisely.

Glitch_Finder_123 answered:

Like Alpha, I would say take Rad-Aways, and even Rad-X's for added resistance to radiation. I've also found ammo for the Alien Blaster at Fort Independence inside a Weapon Storage Room that is next to a Research Room with several terminals, but the amount was only about 20 Cells, which isn't really worth getting.

KingofCorn answered:

Yes but you must purchase the mother ship zeta dlc to get more ammo
