Question for Fable II
I'm doing the rescue quest and when I went to save my kid a bunch of bandits attacked my wife who was following me and I can't use my weapon, spells or pause the game (if I press start all it says is scene paused) and I can't examine properties but nothing attacks me. I walk past bandits and Hobbes and nothing happens. Please help I don't know what is going on in here and I just bought fairfax castle and I'm really mad.

Unfortunately this would be a glitch/bug. You can try going to a different quest, then coming back to see if it works, but other than that you won't have any option but to restart.
In your question you didn't say if the bandits succeeded in killing your wife. If they did then the quest will be invalidated.
To avoid having this glitch again, don't fast travel to or from the quest, walk, and make sure your wife isn't following you.
