There are four or five throughout Albion, and they activate certain gates. I'm not sure what they all do, and I only know the location of a few:
Nightmare Hallow: When going to meet Chesty's "friends" at the top of the hill, hook a right. There should be an expression statue. After activating it, turn around 180 degrees and walk straight, and the door to the house should be open. Sometimes there is a banshee in there, sometimes not, but there's also a chest with a gem in it.
Under Garth's Tower: The course you need to take to get the Daichi, buy Garth's castle and when on the open level where Garth opened the portal, there should be a place to jump down. You'll get a series of puzzles to the end, and one involves an expression statue.
Bowerstone Cemetary: I think it opens one of the coffins where there's a silver key or something.
Dunno where the others are, but you can probably find them online.
