I mean I am only a level 49

To Prestige, you must reach past Level 70. Once you hit level 70, you must play a few more games until you have enough experience to Prestige. Then, you can go hit Prestige mode and restart to Level 1.

To add to the above comment you can go to Barracks and once there you should see Prestige Now (or something of the sort), once selected there's a bunch of text boxes explaining what prestiging is, what you lose and what you gain, and that you will have to "do it all over again.
