I have exactly the same problem mate I have searched the entire internet for a solution to this problem, in the end I called microsoft support, then through to Infinity Ward, (the games production company) and the answer I got was 'there is a problem with the software and a patch is being created to cover this problem and will be released soon so just be patient.' What more can you do??? hope this helps.

There sould be a patch out soon and also......you on the host, you don't lag but everyone else does.

This happens to alot of players who complain about this. Is someone on the computer when you are playing it? Because if someone is, that is the reason why. Its connected between your rouder and your connection. If someone is using the computer, it causes lag from your rouder to your xbox. When your the Host, you never get lag till you play. Sometimes it never happens to the Host cause their the first 1 to pick their team and weapon. If that isnt the case, than your connection is pretty bad or slow.

Well there are a few reasons. 1. Smoke grenades. Smoke grenades lag up the game quite a bit so don't throw to many of them or throw them every once in a while.
2. Connection. The host may have a bad connection or someone's router/modem is bad. Also a player may have a bad connection which is ping the higher the ping the worse.
3. wires. The wires in the router/modem may have become loose be sure to check that.
4. About ping. The higher the ping the worse the lag. Not only that but, it's almost like a temporary virus. If one person has a high ping the rest of the players will have a high ping just not as big as the person who started the ping. Not trying to sound mean but if someone has a high ping it is a good idea to kick them from your match if hosting one. But it good be the hosts fault for the high ping so watch out for that host. you can trust me on all this because I know from personal experiance.
