Cast flare at his horn and then he will lower his head allowing you to cause more damage. Simple keep casting flare at his horn whenver he lifts his head back up

Try also before hand training Shu and jiro in black magic so they can pull off big numbers too. You can also target the dino's horn right away thus doing more damage.
