If you want to unlock every costume all you need to do is collect all the items in survival mode.

The best way to do this is to go through it with a pair of characters through tag battle.

This way you can get all the items in half the time. All the characters has three main items and one special item.

Some examples are Tina=Roasted Chicken, Jan Lee=Dragon Figure, Zack=Ice-cream sunday, and Bass=Wrestling Championship belt. All these items restore all your health.
