Jumps:
When jumping always remember that the amount of air you get is based on how fast you are going before the jump, how high the jump is and how much drop there is after the jump. The higher you are, the more spins/flips you can fit in before you land.

Grabs:
There are six different types of grabs that can be used in the game. These are: Tail grab (hold A button)
Nose grab (tap and then hold A button)
Stalefish grab (hold X button)
Melon grab (tap and then hold X button)
Indy grab (hold Y button)
Mute grab (tap and then hold Y button)
Note: Remember these grabs as you need to know them later because when you defeat a pro boarder they teach you a trick which will be one of these grabs and a tweak (left or right trigger or both triggers). These tricks can help get big points. You can only use these tricks after you have learnt them from the pro.

Rails:
To do a railslide jump onto a slideable surface and press B. To balance use the left trigger to lean left and the right trigger to lean right (try to stay as directly upright as you can whilst railsliding). You can also do presses whilst railsliding. When you are railsliding hold B and press UP to do a nose press, DOWN to do a tail press and across either way to do a 50-50 (if you aren't holding the B button then when you press across either way you will just spin which also gets more points but presses wil score tonnes more though the are harder to balance).
Note: You can increase your balance when you gain skill points which will make it easier to balance.

Hope these hints help.
Thanks for looking... :)

I usually classify my hints and tips into sections. Please enjoy these hints and tips, and I hope they help.

Level 1. Controls.

A - Hold down to go faster. Let go to jump. In midair, hold this down, and you get more points if you do another trick. You must let go of A before you land.

B - Grind. Jump on a grindable object, eg. log, rail, and press B to grind it. Jump while grinding for multiple points. Grinding on something after doing an aerial trick gives you many more points. On halfpipes, beware of the sides. Used for jumps, they are good, but if you do a jump going forward as well as up, then grind, prepare to stack a trick. Sometimes you may get lucky, but the halfpipe is mainly for jumps.

A and B are the only trick buttons I use, so I would recommend training to use only these buttons.

The arrow buttons
and the left analog stick control where you go, eg. left is left, forward is go faster, backward is slow down, right is right, but you may also do diagonal directions. I use the analog stick, as it is much easier to move.

Level 2. Tricks (a.)

Flips can be achieved in midair by holding down a movement button. However, you must land with your board straight and your body straight, other wise you may stack the trick.

Spins can easily be achieved by pushing your controls left or right in midair. Holding down A will give you a better score, and it does not slow you down so I recommend it.

Grinds are a very easily accomplished tricks, as it is a two step operation. Jump and grind. It can be hardened by jumping, doing and aerial trick, then grinding, or jumping while grinding, but it is one of the easiest tricks in the game.

All tricks can be made by combing these together, but some need very small air, some need walls, some need rails, etc. One of my favourites is the backside rodeo, going diagonally backwards in the air, or the switch backside rodeo, landing in another stance.

Level 3. Tricks (b)

Go to the level Majestic in Brighton. Straight ahead are two green jumps. Avoid the lump in the ground, then choose your jump. Right side : Jump, do a few tricks, then grind on wires. Try to jump over the posts, they will knock you off. Left side: My preferred place for flips. Try a double backflip while holding down A.

Go to Miracle Mile, in Snow Summit, then go left. Go over the yellow jump and try to complete the level with as many flips as possible!

I hope these hints help, I'll be seeing you in the high scores!
