"you" don't actually get better. You can get better equipment that can improve your game.

You don't get better and your items don't improve. They just look cooler. Also for Tennis and Baseball you draw in a larger crowd when you go pro.

Tennis: Power shots more often
Baseball: no idea, I'm stuck on 900 points
Boxing: Silver gloves, only after defeating matt and fighting him again hold 2
Golf: hit up to 20 yards more
Bowling: Ball goes sparkly (hint: hold the d pad to get a diffrent colour)

For the sports it has better thing like tennis you smash it more often I don't know I'm stuck 450 points for bowling you have star ball it's bigger for the rest I don't know good luck have fun rocklee_Leaf

You don't usually get better, but the stuff like the boxing gloves, bowling ball, and more changes and makes it better.

Being a pro in a sport doesnt effect the gameplay, it only changes the visuals.
For example, beating matt (1500+ points in boxing) you unlock the silver gloves.
Becoming pro in tennis makes you attract a larger crowd,and also you get more power shots, and becoming a pro in bowling gives you a sparkly ball.
Not sure if golf or baseball have any bonuses though.

You do sorta get better by having better supplies to help you even more better than the supplies you has before. I hoped this helped you out.

When you get Pro Status you get stuff that dosen't effect your gameplay but makes you look cooler stuff like that.
