Grab mode is used when moving your items from one place to another by pressing L1 and R2, as well as the cursors. You can also delete items or you may keep it too your inventory by pressing "add" instead of delete. Ex. If you use the bed and wanted to keep it to you're inventory so you could use it to another island, just press "add" to inventory. Please note that there were items that automatically says, "put in inventory" like the radio, but notice that some do not have, like the bed, fire pit, etc., so just use the grab mode to keep it. So that you don't have to craft another bed into another island.
