It's just a taunt move that you can use. It does nothing to affect the match.

On the Gamecube controller, you can use any of the buttons on the D-Pad to perform a taunt. Same goes for the Classic Controller. However, I don't think there's a way to do it with the Wii Remote.

With the Wii remote and nunchuck you use the 1 and 2 buttons towards the bottom of the controller, the 1 button is one taunt, the 2 button is another taunt, and the 1 and 2 button together is a taunt.

One of Luigi's is an attack. The one where he kicks the ground. I think Marth's can too. The one where points his blade to the air.

Smash taunts are just special words, and actions your character says, or does to make fun of the other characters, or make themselves look good.Like sonic saying "You're too Slow"
Wii remote A
Wii remote and nunchuck style it's 1 and 2.(also press them simultaneously for another taunt)
Gamecube Controller it's the D-pad Up Down Left and Right
Classic contoller it is D-Pad also I believe.

Nunchuck:1,2,1+2
Wii remote:A,A+side,A+down
Gamecube controller:Don't know

Also extra,Luigi has a taunt that can kill someone,when someone is hanging on the rim,use taunt,BOOM SPIKED!also on platform when your next to someone,BOOM FLY!

ALso same with snake, except when you use the box taunt, someone can pick it up and throw it to you and BOOM HEADSHOT...oh wait...BOOM FLY!
