I play brawl every wednesday with a friend who is realy good my other friends say we have the same amount of skill ever since they witnessed a hour long stock battle...but he is getting better and better every time I play him!like last time I beat him once and he beat me 3 times!I need new strageties new combos new everything!His favorite characters are in this order:

Ok dude, here is what you should do. First off, as far as combos, go to training and work on your combos. Play around and find out each characters strength and weaknesses. Second, lose the lineup. Yes they are good characters but you really need to find someway to outwit him. I have a general list for you if you want to use it and I'll help you out as far as characters. Here is a list you might want to try to outwit him. These characters are not probably your favorite's but hey you have to learn other characters too:

When he plays Kirby, use Jigglypuff. She is awkward but you both will have a float ability and will be able to use it really well. Try moving and floating past your target and striking him when he least expects it. Jigglypuff has great combos and can really aid you if you figure out ALL of her moves.
When he uses Snake, use Lucas or Ness. Here's why: Lucas and Ness are fast and very strong for having only a few powers under their arsenal. The main move you will want to remember using is the down + B move of theirs. It is a weird purple glowing thing but it takes all missiles shot at you and asborbs them and heals your character. Hence Snake shoots a lot of missiles. Now when I say missiles I don't mean when he comes over and presses his over + A button like a smash attack. I'm talking when he is far away. They are really good at attacking with their smash "Bat" attacks.
When he uses Captain Falcon, use either Marth or Ike. Onece again, here's why: Marth is extremely fast and, although not as powerfulm can use his "counterattack" which is down + B. The counterattack works so when he goes to hit you with his "Falco Punch!" you can not only avoid the damage but dish it back to him. Ike, though a lot slower than Marth, makes up for his lack of speed with strength. He is a superpower that is even stronger than Bowser in my opinion. He too has a counterattack but it is a little slower. Ike also has many powerful moves at his disposal that will easily send Falcon off the screen.
Mix and mash your combos on training to better time your combos and such. Now if you don't like the ideas I just gave you, simply take a look at his character. Is he fast or slow? Strong or not? Offset him so you have the upper hand. If he gets Bowser use Peach or Marth. Stuff like that. Hope it helps and good luck.
P.S.: Don't stop fighting against the computer. It's the only way you can get practice!!!

Use Lucario's Double Team attack. It is a counter move. Also use Extreme Speed. It is a recovery move. Press 1+UP, and then quickly press LEFT or RIGHT if you want to recover horizontally. Also, if you hold down 2+UP or 2+LEFT of 2+RIGHT, you can charge up attacks, and your character will flash. (This works for all characters.)

One last reason to use Lucario: AURA SPHERE (Press 1) and AURA STORM (Final Smash)! Aura Sphere is really good because:

ONE) You can charge it up.

TWO) The more damage you have, the more damage it does.

Aura Storm is really good because:

ONE) You can control the angle of the beam (LEFT or RIGHT)

TWO) It does about 40% damage. In otherwords, just use it twice to KO people. You may have to use it 3 times on big heavy characters like Charizard DK or Bowser.
