Theres 2 ways, clear classic with link after beating the S.S.E. Or after beating the S.S.E., choose the stage called The Forest, then go in through the frist door you see, then after all that you battle him on his ship and defeat him and he's yours.

To get toon link all you have to do is after you beat subspace emissary you go to the level with link and yoshi, the forest, and there should e a door somewhere in there that leads you to toonlinks ship. Here you will brawl against him. If you win you get toon link and his ship is now available as a stage on brawl

Beat SSE go to the door that takes you to his ship in SSE, beat classic with link after beating SSE or go to speciel brawl set it to Death Match with 1 life and stage selectoin on random.

After you beat Subspace Emissary you can go back to "The Forest" and enter the 1st door hovering. Then you battle him. If you lose you do not unlock him.

The other way is to go to the forest after beating tabuu
