Veterans: Bowser, Donkey Kong, Fox, Ice Climbers, Kirby, Link, Mario, Peach, Pikachu, Zelda/Sheik, Samus, Yoshi, Mr. Game & Watch, Ness, Captain Falcon, Falco, Ganondorf, Jigglypuff, Luigi, Marth and Toon Link (previously young link).
Rookies: Captain Olimar (pikmin), Diddy Kong (donkey kong series), Ike (fire emblem), King Dedede (Kirby series), Lucas (Mother 3), Metaknight (Kirby series), Pit (Kid Icarus), Pokemon Trainer (Pokemon series), Solid Snake (metal gear solid series), Sonic (sonic the hedgehog series), Wario (wario world series), Zero Suit Samus (metroid: zero mission), Wolf (Starfox series) and some robot.

- sly cooper and the gang (sly can call for one of them to assist him in each battle)
