Question for New Super Mario Bros

Just bought the game. It runs through the starting video and ends with me needing to choose World I to start playing. I am not able to select the world. Am I missing something or do I have a faulty game. If I play "free for all" with 2 players everything seems to work. One video I watch also shows that I should be able to enter back into the castle but I can't do this either.

We had the same exact problem. I figured it out but I think it *is* a glitch. First thing to note, we started off with our joystick attached to the Wii remote. After getting things to work properly, I also realized that having the joystick attached changed which buttons we needed to use. OK, now for the solution that worked for us:

1. Start the game over and select a new Saved "Player" File. (So, for us, it started saving on 1, so I went out and came back in using 2.)

2. Select how many players. (For us, we chose just one player.)

3. Let the Princess Birthday video play out.

4. Advance to the World 1-1 spot and hit the "A" button on the Wii remote while standing on that red circle if you also have the joystick attached. (If you do *not* have the joystick attached and are only using the Wii remote, advance to the World 1-1 spot and hit the "2" button while standing on that red circle.)

5. It should then work and let you into World 1-1. If you find that it did work, like it did for us, you can then restart the game and go back in using your first saved "Player" file (1) and do the same procedure. It should also work for that saved file as well now. It seemed to me like the Wii just needed a fresh start and once it worked under the second saved file, it kicked it out of it's glitch for all of the saved "Players."

Best of Luck!! :o)
