How do you use the orange pull things on doors, bridge, etc. ?

As far as I can tell, I think the only way to open them is with a horse (after you feed the horse some type of carrot, etc). I'm thinking that eventually there may be a character you can unlock who has the ability to open them, so then you can just come back to the spot during free play and get whatever you missed.

You need to use a strong character to pull on the orange handles.

You need an animal , ride an animal then you can press z and pull it. This should open it.
