Save all your money throughut all of medium then you should have anough money.

Heres what you should do, if you get an average of 3 stars on medium, try 5 staring, or get 100% on a lot of Easy songs. (Also, as you go along try not to spend money on guitars and, stuff.)

Forget the money! Just use a cheat on this site that unlocks everything including songs, guitars , finishes, clothes, and yes characters!
