I've played alot of Pokemon games. Yellow, Red, Blue, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Leafgreen, Firered, and Diamond. I like this game because of the way you can complete the dex. It offers alot more than the other games. There are many new monsters to recognise and new tms.
The graphics were really good. I enjoyed how characters were not pixeled. If you've played the earlier games the Pokemon and characters were a big blob of pixels. Now the graphics are smoother and made so that you can see every inch of the area. Any Pkmn gamer would love it.
The sound was nice, but not as good as the Jhouto games. Crystal by far is the best. The music used to create a smooth feeling(like in Golden Rod city) but now it's all just backround music to fill in areas. Though the sound of Pkmn has greatly improved.
Ther game had many new things that were not possible in the others. But it is very confusing and has so many rules. There are many more characters to battle and places to see, but it's hard to pinpoint where certain cities are at. If I need the fossil person, I can't remember which city he is in because many of them look almost the same.
The game kept you VERY busy. I beat it in a week, but for other people it would take a substantial amount of time.(about a month or two)Most games for DS do not last that long and do not have that long of a storyline. Sometimes there are hidden things too and you realize there is more to be done.
The game is perfect for a Pkmn trainer's collection but lacks the beauty and creativity of the earlier games. The sound is nice, graphics new, and lasts a good amount of time so you don't have to cry as much while waiting for the next games. And if you beat the game in a week there is more crying to be done, or you can collect the older games.
