When I first saw Okamai, I could not wait to get it. This game is basically the reason that I bought a Wii. With stunning effects, amazing music, a story that will have you demanding more, this game is truly a masterpiece, perfect for a system such as the Wii.
The graphics...how to explain...Like a Japanese Masterpiece come alive. Every scene is just like a painting, it will have you pausing just to look at the scenes. I found myself going to the highest point in every new area just to get a view at the artwork.
The music will have you tapping along during tense situations, as it perfectly gets the mood of the situation. The music during comical situations has you laughing just because it suits what is going on. The only reason that this is a 9 is because the common battle music is the same, however the boss music changes.
This game is truly made for the Wii. Using the Wiimote to literally draw on the world, and change it is just amazing. The possibilities that this game holds is just...staggering. As you progress and get new abilities, you will be compelled to go back to where you were before because you remember that you can get to a new area (for items usually).
I will most likely beat this game again within the next year, it will always be the top of my list in games to get. It will always be a classic, even though it is not very old. You will find yourself wanting to beat it again just because of the story, it is put together in such a way that it has you guessing that just what will happen next. I loved it, honestly.
Okami- A game for the Wii that is truly a masterpiece. The music will have you tapping along during tense situations, the amazing artwork will have you pausing and just looking, for every scene is like a painting, the controls are intuitive and easy to use, the story is stunning and will have you wishing for more. With many twists, a lot of inappropriate jokes (thanks, Issun) and a lot of action, this game takes the top of my favorite games. With most games, the last boss is a pushover, while the last boss of Okami has you guessing at what it is going to do next, wondering if one false move will be your last. For anyone that likes Japanese artwork, Japanese themed anything, really, will love this game. If you have a Wii and do not have this game, I feel bad for you, haha. I wish for a second Okami, as the ending hints at a sequel. And I can not say it enough, the story that is portrayed is simply amazing. With enough content to cover 2, or more, full games, Okami is simply amazing.
