The game starts out simple, (Spoiler Alert!), with the Normandy mysteriously getting attacked. Shephard gets some people out but in the process getting killed in action. This game starts out very epic, with the charcter not knowing whats attacking, the game also looks alot better than Mass Effect 1 too.
Like I said in the intro, the game looks great. The game is darker than the first in many ways, and even the brighter planets have gotten darker. The citadel for example looks darker but at the same time more vivid in detail. There are some sunny areas that bring a bit of a contrast to the game but the creators of Mass Effect 2 made the light and dark pull together somehow.
The sound in the game has music from the first as well as new scores for the second. The game has somwhat of a eerie feeling to the music that amplifies certain situations in the game. The point is that this game actually has music to fill many situations and feelings as well as the same music when you access the Galaxy Map which is a good thing.
The gameplay has gotten a couple of revamps that are both good and bad for it. The game has gotten rid of the grenades for every class and given the Soldier Class a grenade blast instead. The game has a new cover system health regeneration style of play now, as well as ammo which may help or hinder the game. They actually make you use powers in your class to help you survive instead of just using guns the entire time. Another good thing is that you now have guns specific to each class, and if your not trained in certain weapons you don't get to use them.
This game will last a while for many people. With many ways to end the game you'll want to play It over and over, and when you import your Mass Effect 1 charcter you can see in action how your choices affected this game. The game can end either really good or really bad depending on your choices throught the game. It's a good thing you choose your own path to success or absolute failure.
Overall this game is awe-inspiring, this game may be the best game I've ever played. The story-telling is epic, the charcters actually have their own views and opinions, and you choose what to do. You can make this game as good or bad as you want to but in my eyes this game was fantastic, a great buy and worth the price!
