Use poison smoke bombs - bomb material + Toadstool

Run up to the Hornatuar and throw the poison smoke bomb, you need to be next to it as you throw the bomb at your feet.
It will poision everytime and then just wait for the poison to kill it, head's are a rare carve, also some of the Hornatuar's that are larger don't always die from the poison so if you have a sword and shield with really rubbish attack power and rubbish sharpness there is a chance it will hurt them with out breaking them

If you are a ranger like me you can use a poison coating on your arrows. do not use charge shot or it will explode. shoot it several times and it should be poisoned. when it is just run from it and when it weeps and falls over on it's back carve from it and you should get it.P.S empty bottle + toadstool = poison coating.
