Not sure about the mining spot due to the fact that I play MHF2... But once again, the 2nd half is quite easy to answer... Get it from upgraded mining spot or kill gypceros... You can get it from a carve or as reward... And if you want to make sure you get one, you break it from the top of his very sorry skull... But seriously, get MHF2...

Ok light crystals are I agree rare but you can get it commonly when you kill gypceros that thing that flashes behind it's nose is actually a light crystal and the other ores well let me give you an example a fire crystal can be obtained by the volcanic areas so your ores can be obtained according to your areas ohh n a union ore is hard rarely obtained and only be obtained by farm when you renovate it

You can get those crystals later in the game, really it's just by change when you get them. Just bring a good pick and a few of them just incase they break.
