Gypceros

I was wondering on how to catch a Gypceros. It doesn't seem to have a way of telling me that it is close to dying. Can anyone tell me an easy way to capture it?

Thanks in advance Smile

I think how you can tell if it is close to death is when it jumps up into the air and flaps it's wings and flails it's legs. It will then fly away right after it does that. So go looking for it and place your trap.

Gypceros is a pain when it comes to finding when he's hurt, best way is to do the quest once and fail (kill it) so you know roughly how long it takes you to kill it and what signs to look out for when he is close to death. I usually do this with Plesoith (who is harder to work out and he is almost the same when on full hp other than the fact he falls over more when he's hurt/close to death). If doing a guild quest then it's easier to tell as he has more health. When close to death a gypceros will enter frenzy mode more often (if he enters frenzy mode after 1/2 combos after coming out) he's close to death so lay a pitfall trap then. He also very rarely limps on few occasions, but I wouldn't look out solely for this because he will more likely die before he does.

Long Story, Short: If he enters frenzy mode frequently (after a combo of hits) he's most likely ready for capture.

Too tell if the Gypceros is ready to be caught you need to make it faint twice, lay a trap then get it to go into rage(thats where it's eyes start to flash and purple smoke is coming out of it's mouth)trap it throw your tranq bombs and your done.

You have now caught a Gypceros!
