You have to get 2 or more scrolls from the same type.
Next keep pressing 'X' a few times when selected the scrolls in the inventory. Then drop the item you wish to duplicate and it will duplicate as many times as you have scrolls.

Adding to the answer above, which is somewhat incomplete.
You need to have 2 Scrolls of the same type, yes, but they MUSTN'T have been stolen.
Once you do, go to the Inventory and press "X" TWICE over them. Select the object you want to duplicate, and drop it (note that the object has to be a SINGLE one; if you already have 2, drop one and do the dupe glitch to get another). You should find the original and the duplicate in the floor (in the previous case, the other one as well). Another advantage of the dupe glitch is duplicating the object by 10+ times. For that, simply duplicate ANOTHER scroll the number of times you wish. Let's say 20. Click twice over the 20 new Scrolls, and drop the desired object. It will be duplicated 20 times.
