Yes the co-op can be played both ways. When you start a game you will get 3 options to choose from which includes the co-op settings. Set it to the correct setting there.

Yes you can play two player on RE5 but befor you can you have to beat the game once and unlock merceneries mode unfortunatly you can't play the full game in co-op but this mode is still a bit of fun if you wanna play the full story online's your only option...

Yes you can play two player with out playing live. When you start your game ( anytime during play as well ) all you have to do is your second player hit start on the second controller and it reload and restart you both right where you left off.
