I'm having difficulties with the map, some missions tell me to follow stuff on the map, like a grey radar? I don't get it. Help please.

They are talking about the dead drops if I am correct. When you hit L3, the radar goes around on your map. There should either be a grey ring around the edge of the mini-map, or somewhere inside it.

In the options you can change your radar in three different styles that might help you.

The gray radar tells you where dead drops are on the top of buildings
