Complete walkthrough for Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (PS2) INTRODUCTION ============ This document is a complete walkthrough for Syphon Filter Dark Mirror, based on the Playstation 2 version of the game. As a result, it may occur that some information the I give does not apply to the PSP version. I'll try to make it clear in that event. By the way, if you don't want to be told everything about the game, do not proceed with your reading. I have written this guide in order to help players who are struggling with some parts of the game or who are looking for advices. Thus I tried to minimise the number of spoilers but there might still be a few. Finally, just remember that English is not my first langage, so if you see any huge mystakes (syntax, grammer or anything), please let me know! I hope that the writing of this guide will be helpful to you and will likely improve your gaming experience. Introduction to the game <INT> =========================== Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror puts you back in the skin of special operative Gabe Logan. The virus case has been closed for good, and Gabe's Agency are now battling with a paramilitary organisation named Red Section. As he his called for an intervention on an oil rafinery in Alaska, Gabe discovers that KemSynth Petrolem is actually involved in a mysterious research project codenamed Dark Mirror, and which seems to be sought by Red Section. With his partners' help, Gabe must track down this new conspiracy to the deepest of his own past. ==================== B. Starting the game <STA> ==================== As you turn on the game for the first time, you will be asked to create a profile which will be used to save your career statistics. The next time you start the game, the last profile used will automatically be loaded. You have three options on the start screen. SINGLE PLAYER will start a new game. You'll then have a choice between news options. Choose TRAINING MODE to access the training missions, STORY MODE to play all missions without interruption, MISSION MODE to play over missions you've already achieved in story mode, CAREER RATINGS to take a look at your stats or LOCKED FILES to access behing the scenes material that you've unlocked. The other options on the starting screen are OPTIONS that lets you change the game options and PROFILES from where you'll be able to load another profile or create a new one. =========== C. Gameplay <GMP> =========== I. Standard ----------- Left joystick...........................Move forward/backward and sideways. Right joystick..........................1� Turn around. 2� Aim. X (tap).................................Crouch/Rise. Triangle................................1� Interaction button. Note: When a action is possible, a tag will show up on your screen. 2� Crawl when you find yourself in front of a crouch space (a vent duck for instance). 3� Climg over a low obstacle. Squarre.................................Give an order. Note: When you can issue an order, a tag will show up in the upper right corner of your screen. Circle..................................n/a L1......................................Shoulder aiming. Use the right analog stick to move the targer around. L2......................................Reload weapon. R1......................................1� Fire. 2� Knife or body attack (when you are barehanded). R2......................................Flatten against a wall. If you find yourself near a corner, or if the wall is low, push and hold down the joystick in the corresponding direction to peek and aim. You can now fire from that position. Let go the joystick to hide back. Left arrow (hold).......................Brings up the gadged selection screen. Note: Press X, Square, Triangle or Circle to pick the corresponding goggle. Press R1 to use a medkit if have one or L1 to select the fire extinguisher, again if you have one. Right arrow (hold)......................Brings up the weapon selection screen. Note: Press X, Square, Triangle, Circle L1 or R1 to select the corresponding weapon. Up arrow................................Zoom in (while looking througs a scope). Down arrow..............................Zoom out. Start...................................Pause the game and lets you check your mission objectives. You can also access the game options. Advanced ------------ It's actually the game disposition, only the two joystick are reversed, meaning you'll move around with the right joystick and aim with the left joystick. NOTE : The � Classic � gameplay offered in the PSP version of the game is no longer available in the PS2 edition. This gameplay was close to the one in previous Syphon Filter (including auto-aiming), but it was not very well suited for the new game style in Dark Mirror. ================= D. Equipement ============= Coming soon. ============= H. Story Mode ============= Now we get to the core of the subject. This section will tell you in details every steps you need to do in order to complete each mission. For each one, I will suggest a base itinerary and I'll try to explain what you'll get if you deviate from it in headings called "Alternative". When you start a new game in story mode, you can choose from three levels of difficulty. In EASY, enemies are worse shooters and you can see how much armor/health the have left (blue and red bars over their head). In NORMAL, you won't see this information, and enemies are getting better. In HARD, enemies are very good shooters and you won't have the radar showing on your scree anymore. Take note that the number of enemies and their positions will not change from on difficulty level to the other. The mission objectives will be listed down at the beginning of every corresponding mission below. You begin each episode with a minimum equipment consisting of the Mark 23, the MB-150, the taser and the knife. You will however keep the weapons you've picked up from one mission to the other inside the same episode. Pay attention to the "Hint" headings as they'll unveil tips and advices for tricky passages. Other headings entitled "Ennemy" will give you information on specific battles against special adversaries. Finally, one last heading will be named "Hidden Evidence" and will indicate where to get these long-desired evidences! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- =- 0. Training Mode -= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- =============================================================================== i. Agency Maneuvers - Basic Navigation and Mouvement <T01> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Reach flag - Open door ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is one of the simplest mission, made only to help you practice moving around. Fallow the blue arrows on the ground and press Square to here Teresa's tips when a tag appears in the right corner of your screen. ++++++++++++++++++++ + Hint: Time trial + ++++++++++++++++++++ If you managed to clear the course in less than 1:35, you'll unlock the SP-57 (for use in Mission Mode). If you fallow the normal route, it will be impossible to do. There are actually two shortcuts that require the use of the RTL. To get to the first line, climb on the first container to your right, (that's the normal path) then go left once you're on the other side. There you'll see a box: climb on it, then on the containers until you get to the highest point. From there, you'll be able to reach the RTL and cross directly to the next section. Just make sure you land on the containers, otherwise you will fall to your death. The second shortcut is just a little ahead. You'll soon get to a crouch space that you must cross. But instead of going in, make a few more steps forward and go in the passage to your right, that goes under the containers. You'll end up in a larger area. Climb on the boxes in the middle of it (the ones that form a L shape) and use your RTL to get all the way up to the finish point on the footbridge. =============================================================================== ii. Basic Combats <T02> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Find the weapon crate - Hold the right direction button to equip weapon - Hit the X button to crouch - Destroy the three targets - Snap to containers and destroy the targets - Destroy the target - Eliminate all targets - Eliminate the target - Eliminate all targets - Eliminate trainee with EDT - Eliminate trainee with knife ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Again, I have not much to say. Fallow Teresa's instructions and learn to weal the different weapons of Dark Mirror. ++++++++++++++++++++ + Hint: Time trial + ++++++++++++++++++++ There is once again a bonus objective that requires you to beat this training mission in less than 3:00. There are no shortcuts or whatsoever, so just be quick and you should get it. You'll earn the FAMAS for doing this. =============================================================================== iii. MB-150 Rifle and Darts - MB-150 Sniper Rifle <T03> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Complete MB-150 Training - Destroy targets - Eliminate targets with EDP darts - Eliminate targets with gas darts - Eliminate target with explosive darts ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once again this missino is pretty simple. This time you'll be covering the use of the MB-150 and its three dart types. Listen to Teresa's instruction. You must first destroy three targets with the 6mm rounds. Use your EDSU goggles to locate them more easily. After you must eliminate a few trainees with each type of darts. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + Hint: Without wasting ammo + ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Complete this training level without missing a single shot (bullets and darts) and you'll be rewarded with the UNP .45. Just make sure you throw the explosive darts on the trainees (not on the ground), otherwise they'll count as missed even if the explosion does wipe out your intended target. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =- 1. Fire and Ice -= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =============================================================================== i. Insertion Point Alpha -- KemSynth Petroleum, Alaska: Insertion Point <S01> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Eliminate Squad Commander - Open distillation column valve - Provide covering fire for Lian Xing - Rendezvous with Lian Xing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You start this mission leant against the wall. Wait for the enemy in front to end his converstion and head in your direction. Sneak behind him and eliminate him (silently if possible). Now take out our MB-150 and shoot down the commander on the column up ahead (objective completed). //////////////////////////////// / Hidden evidences 1/3 and 2/3 / //////////////////////////////// Take from the dead worker's body (the one the soldier shot during the intro animation) the security card he was carrying. Notice the fence on the right. Shoot the barrel on the other side of it and the explosion will create an opening. Go through it, and two enemies will pop out in front of you. Kill them and head left. You'll see a ladder leading to the rough of the small building. Once you're up on the roof, head right first and onto the platform. You'll see the body of a dead worker on which you'll find the first evidence. Head down the platform, but stay on the roof. Locate a RTL and use it to get to the balcony ahead. Use the keycard you got earlier to open the door. Inside you'll find a Med Kit, some M67 grenades and the second evidence. If you want to skip some fighting, head down to the ground (use the ladder at the end of the balcony) and head to the far left corner. You'll see a pipe that you can grab. Move to your left and you'll end up in front of the locked fence. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From the starting area, head left and fallow the passage to its end, dealing with the enemies on the way (if you manage not to get spotted, you'll only meat two guys). You're now in front of a locked fence gate. Use your EDSU goggles to spot the lock and shoot it. Then use the ladder to get down into the pit (checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// The third evidence will be just in front as you get off the ladder, on the ground. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A guard will get in this area and start patrolling. Eliminate him and climb up the fence on the other side of the pit. Another enemy will attack you. When he is down, go around the pit once again and take this new ladder up. Two more guys will attack you, one from the side and another further in front. Take them out and climb to the top of the column (objective completed/checkpoint). After the animation, lower the lever before the 18 second time limit is up (checkpoint). After another animation, you will have to provide cover fire for Lian who is moving along down in the courtyard. Take the Dragunov left by the commander you killed earlier if you don't have a better weapon. There is also a munition box near your which could be helpful. You must tell Lian when her path his cleared by pressing Square after you've eliminated a wave of enemies. When she is out of danger (objective completed), she'll fire a zip line. Use it to get to her position (objective completed). =============================================================================== ii. Red Jack -- KemSynth Petroleum, Alaska: Maintenance elevator <S02> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Access security computer - Infiltrate rafinery via maintenance elevator - Eliminate Red Jack ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the mission starts, locate the sniper on the catwalk further ahead (he's tough to spot because he his kneeling). Eliminate him first. Down in the courtyard is another soldier near a machine gun. Use the guardrail to take cover and take him down (use an explosive dart if you can have a clear shot at him). Near where you've started is a RTL that you can use to get to the other side. When you'll be crossing, an enemy soldier will attack you. Try to take him down using your handgun or auxiliary before you get to the balcony. Once you get there, go the the other end of the balcony. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// Use your EDSU goggles to locate the evidence which lies on a box to your left. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You'll now see another RTL which will lead you to the catwalk on which the first sniper you shot down was. Once you get there, an enemy will head in your direction. Take him down and head for the direction he was coming from. Open the doors and you'll see two soldiers facing computer screens. Sneak behind the closest one and silently kill him, then take care of the second one. Now if you try to use the computers, you'll notice they are offline. Turn on your EDSU goggles and fallow the wire to the override switch. Activate it and you can now access the computers (objective completed/checkpoint). After a short animation, two enemies will burst inside the building. Walk up to the table near you and press Triangle to kick it. That will provide you with an obstacle behind which you can take cover. Eliminate the two enemies and leave the room. A sniper will try to embush you from the balcony to your right. Be cautious because he is heavily armed. Take him down and advance to the ladder (near the RTL) so you can climb down to the ground level. Around ten enemies will not attack you, either on the ground level or up on the catwalk. When you've taken care of them, walk up the the plateform elevator and activate the switch on its control panel //////////////////////////////// / Hidden evidences 2/3 and 3/3 / //////////////////////////////// BEFORE you activate the elevator, go the the right corner of this area (when facing the elevator). On the wall to the left you'll see a pipe that you can grab and which will allow you to cross over the fence. Walk up to the dead body and take the magnetic keycard he was carrying. Make sure you grab the evidence on him after the animation. Get back to the main areay and go the opposite side. Use the card to open the door to your left (you'll see "B1" written over it). Inside you'll find the last evidence. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ******************** * Ennemy: Red Jack * ******************** This fight will certainly brind back memories from Syphon Filter... To beat Red Jack, you simply need to fire a bullet in the fuel tank he is carrying on his back. The shot may seem tough to pull out since Red Jack will always face you, but in fact you will get more thant once opportunity to take that shot (fire a few bullets over his shoulder and you'll most likely hit the bull's eye). Don't stay exposed for too long or your retreat will be cut back by Red Jack once he corners you. The best strategy is the run around a lot so that he is forced to fallow you. If you ever catch on fire, press X to roll and put out the flammes. (Objective completed). =============================================================================== iii. Finding Freeman -- KemSynth Petroleum: KemSynth Employee Lounge <S03> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Infiltrate second floor - Access security elevator ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silently come closer to the guard working on the electric panel. Turn on the switch to your near right for an easy environmental kill. You now have to use your RTL to get over the flammes. The first jet is easy to get past, but watch out for the second, the one that is higher. It comes and go, so simply wait for it to go. Once you get to the other end, destroy the lock over the vent gate and crouch inside. Once you're on the other end, you'll see a flame jet that block your way out. Locate the switch to the left (use your EDSU goggles if needed) and shoot it to shut the flame down. Take out your nightvision goggles and exit the duck. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// The first evidence lies to the left of where the flame was coming from. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Turn around and look on the ground, to the left of the vent you just came from. There is a paper on which you can see a code (938): remember it for later. Locate another vent to your right (while you're facing the first vent) and climb in it. After a few steps, a panel will shut down, blocking your way. Look to your left, through the two fans, and you'll see a switch on the wall. Shoot through the fan that is stopped to open the panel (checkpoint). Keep moving forward. You will end up in the lounge. In front of you there is a soldier freaking out on a vending machine. Wait for him to go away, exit the vent and sneak behind him. Eliminate him discreetly. Two other enemies are located a little further, near a big television screen. Get behind them and take out the one closest to your first, than the one by the screen. If you get spotted, backups will be on their way and you'll have to take them out too (checkpoint). ||||||||||||||||||| | = Alternative = | ||||||||||||||||||| Notice the remote control on the coffee table. Press Triangle in front of it to shut the TV. This will make to second guard come closer to the screen and you can now use a gas or explosive dart to take them out both at the time. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// You'll find the second evidence on the couch nearby. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A soldier will come out from the elevator at the end of the corridor. Hide near the couches and wait for him to get in your field of vision then take him out, preferably without blowing your stealth. Otherwise, three additionnal enemies will come in. This last enemy is carrying a key (if you got spotted and faced more than one guy, you'll have to search the bodies to see which one had it). Take it and go towards the elevator (you can search in the lockers to your right, as two of them contain items). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// The first locker of the second group is locked. The code required is the one you found earlier: 938. The third evidence is inside. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once you get inside the elevator, push the button (objective completed/ checkpoint). =============================================================================== iv. A Man Without Power -- KemSynth Petroleum: KemSynth Power Room <S04> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Locate Freeman's office - Rescue electrician - Restore power ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When the elevator doors open, an enemy will spot you and run off. Wait for him to reach is companion downstairs, and soon huge blast will wipe them out. Now two flame jets will be blocking your way. Shoot the switch on the other side of the room to shut them off. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// Before you go any further, don't forget to pick the first evidence which is located on the radiator-looking machine in front of you as you get out the elevator. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go forward and turn left when you reach the end of the room. About 10 enemies will attack you from the catwalk on the other side. A few of them will even cross over to you. You can take cover inside and use the windows to shoot them out. When the path is cleared, walk up to the end of the catwalk and use the RTL to cross over the pit. ///////////////////////////////// / Hiddens evidences 2/3 and 3/3 / ///////////////////////////////// Before your cross over, you can spot a switch on the other side, left to the flame jet. Shoot it first and than travel to the other side. Go left and pick the evidence on the worker's body. Now turn around and walk towards the ladder. Just before, turn left and go in the narrow passage. At the end you'll see a box containing a flak jacket, as well as the third evidence on the floor to your left. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Climb up the ladder and there will be a cut scene (objective completed/ checkpoint). After, two enemies will start firing at you from the office. Eliminate them and enter the office. Go through the door and walk to the stairs. Two enemies will walk up. Take them out and go downstairs. Two more guards will burst in from the door in front. Eliminate them too. ++++++++ + Hint + ++++++++ Notice the vent just to your left as you get to the bottom of the stairs. Shoot the lock above the grid, which will be very useful in the next mission, especially is you are looking to get stealth kills. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For now, use the door the last enemies came by. Go through the next door to the left and down the stairs. You'll start to hear the voice of a soldier talking to the electrician. Look to your left and you'll see him (the soldier) through some pipes. Kill him with a headshot and get inside to rescue the electrician (objective completed/checkpoint). After the cut scene, he will ask for help in order to get the power back on. First bypass the three fuses (just press Triangle in front of each one), then pull the lever togheter with the electrician (objective completed). =============================================================================== v. Freeman's Files -- KemSynth Petroleum: KemSynth Server Room <S05> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Install data uplink on refinery mainframe - Escort electrician to safety - Retrieve Freeman's access code - Infiltrate Security Section D ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You will hear the commander talking in a radio. Walk up to it and press Triangle and Gabe will answer passing for the enemy. If you don't do that, you come across two additionnal guards on your way up. Take the electrician with you upstairs and you'll hear two guards on the other side of the door. ++++++++ + Hint + ++++++++ If you did shoot the vent lock in the previous mission, as suggested, you will be able to get behind them using this vent, allowing you to take them out discreetly. Otherwise you'll have to: Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Open the door and quickly shoot the two enemies. Walk up to the door in the other side of the room and ask the electrician to open it. He'll answer that he needs an access code. Take him to Freeman's office (upstairs) and you'll see a large painting on the wall. Move it to unveil a safe behind. The electrician will tell you the code: 539. Open the safe and you'll get the access code (objective completed/checkpoint). There is also a Desert Sniper .357 inside if you want it. Go back downstairs, to the locked door, and ask again the electrician to open it. ///////////////////////////////// / Hiddens evidences 1/3 and 2/3 / ///////////////////////////////// In the room you are in now, you'll find the second evidence, which is in one of the servers to the left (it's a tall black box). The third evidence is right after the door the electrician just opened up, in the shelves in the left. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When the door is opened, turn right and head for the server room. Two enemies will be patrolling inside. Eliminate them and try to use the computer one of the guys was working on (checkpoint). As it is offline, the electrician will ask for a boost up. Turn on your infrared goggles so you can track him and active the three switches over which he'll stop. Then two enemies will attack the worker. Shoot them through the ceiling before they kill him. When it's done, go back to the computer (objective completed/checkpoint). After the cut scene, ask the electrician to open the door. Two enemies will be waiting for you down the steps. Kill them and go in. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// Behind those two enemies is a pipe from which steam is coming out. If you shoot it, it will explode. Make sure you DO NOT shoot it and quickly eliminate your two targets. Then walk up to them and gather the last evidence which is on a laptop inr the right corner. Remember that her default pistol is NOT silenced, as opposed to Gabe's Mard 23. You start off this mission leant against a rock. Turn on your infrared goggles to spot the three guards patrolling the area. The first one if located right in frond of you. The other two are more the your left. Sneak to the first one, using the many obstacles to avoid being seen and eliminate him with your knife or a silend dart. Now switch to your EDSU goggles and look for the first disk (you must open the lid of a box). Look left and you should normally see a second enemy ahead. Use the same strategy than previously to take him out discreetly. The second disk is in a similar box nearby. Finally, do the same thing to the last guard and collect the last disk near him (objective completed/checkpoint). ||||||||||||||||||| | = Alternative = | ||||||||||||||||||| If you get spotted, you will first need to face a few backups. Then, each time you'll come near a disk, two or three additionnal foes will try to ambush you. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// The first evidence is located near the plane nose (the the left of it if you're standing in front of the plane), ib a small rock half-buried under the snow (use your EDSU goggles). Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the cut scene, the plane hold will open up and an armored guard will step out. Stay hidden until he passes before you and sneak behind him. Eliminate him and take his keycard. Come back and take down the the soldiers inside the plane (they both were flak jackets). Then climb in and walk to the computer in the back (objective completed/checkpoint). A guard will then upon a hatch above you and toss in a smoke grenade. Use your infrared goggles to see him better and take him out (you might have a hard time getting the proper angle to shot him, but the smoke will prevent him from hitting you). Climb the ladder on the top of the plane and advance towards the plane tail. An enemy will then come out from the hatch and five snipers will take position on the surrounding hills. First take out the enemy on the plane and then use your VSS-DU to headshot the snipers. Once you are out of danger, go set the C4 charge on the tail (objectice completed/checkpoint). ///////////////////////////////// / Hiddens evidences 2/3 and 3/3 / ///////////////////////////////// The two remaining evidences are located under pannels on each wings. Use your EDSU goggles to find them. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go back to the hatch and two enemies will pop out from it. Kill them and climb back inside. As soon as you get down, find cover behind the nearest box. A bunch of enemies will be waiting for you and they have taken over your snowcat. Beware especially of its machine gun. Take out the first enemies and use the first opening you have to get out from the plane. Hide behind one of the containers and get as near as possible of the snowcat. Shoot the soldier wielding the machine gun and approach the snowcat (objective completed/ checkpoint). The last part is pretty simple: just use the machine gun to shoot the last enemies coming at you (objective completed). =============================================================================== ii. Security Section D -- KemSynth Petroleum: Secure Research Area <S07> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Gain access to the containment room - Defuse ccontainment room explosive ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This level is filled with laser mines, so be real careful and always use your EDSU goggles to spot them. Remember that you can shoot them (make sure you're not to close doing so) or disarm them by getting closer and holding Triangle. Open the door in frond and eliminate the guard who is about to set a mine. Another enemy is doing the same a little further: take him out too. If an explosion sets off the flame jet, there is a swtich nearby to shut if off. Use the next door to exit the room (checkpoint). Go through the door to your left. There is a mine ahead. Disarm it and go outside to your left as a flame is blocking the corridor. Make sure your have your EDSU goggles turned on, as two mines are planted in this area. Furthermore, four soldiers will attack you with one positionned on the roof. Take them out while being careful with the mines. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// It is located in the boxes in the middle of this area (beware of the mines!) Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The flame jets that were inside have been shut off, so get back inside and eliminate the enemy who is waiting for you. Fallow the corridor up to the stairs. Look down and you'll see an enemy setting up a mine. Eliminate him. If the mine exploses, it'll trigger a flame jet. The swithc to shut it off is on the opposite wall, down the stairs. Crawl inside the vent duck nearby and you will hear a guard talking. Continue until you can see him through a fan to your left. A panel prevents you from going any further anyway. Headshot the guy and shoot the switch near him to remove the panel. ++++++++ + Hint + ++++++++ You can shoot a EDT dart on the center of the fan to immobilise it. This will allow you go take the shoot more easily. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// BEFORE you shoot the switch, move to the end of the vent and collect the second evidence. If you did shoot the switch that removes the panel, you can shoot it back. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Move out of the duck. After the cut scene (objective completed/checkpoint), you will dispose of 4 minutes in order to completed your last objective. First, two enemies will attack you from the other side of the catwalk. Take them out and run in their direction. Use the line to RTL over to the other side. Shoot down the few enemies that will attack you from the right and destroy the mine that's near them, then move to the end of the catwalk. Take the ladder down and fight your way through the new wave of enemies. They have a mine near them too so make sure you destroy it. Move again to the end of the catwalk and locate the RTL. Before you cross however, turn on your EDSU goggles and destroy the mine that is in the way. Once you get to the other side, shoot the last enemies. Use the ladder to get down on the floor. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// The last evidence if trickier to find. Walk to the pile of boxes in the corner. Crouch-walk to the edge so that Gabe grabs it without falling down. Move to your right and climb up when you're behind the boxes. Take the evidence on the floor and go back the same way. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few enemies will fire at you. Deal with them and then go around the pit. Watch out for one last mine, then climb the ladder and disarm the bomb (objective completed). =============================================================================== iii. Kreisler's Garden -- KemSynth Petroleum: KemSynth Hydroponics <S08> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Rescue Kreisler - Retrieve Kreisler's optical disc - Eliminate elite squad ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If have 1:28 minute to get the first objective done. Destroy the lock over the vent to your left and use it to access the next room. If you try to use the console, nothing will happen and Kreisler will tell you that you must find another way. Shoot the four vents on the ceiling (use your EDSU goggles if needed) and then go activate the console again. This will stop the timer. Now climb to Kreisler (objective completed/checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// The first evidence is located to the left of the ventilation system console, on a panel from which steam is coming out (use your EDSU goggles). Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the cut scene, two guards will come in. Shoot them down and climb down. Under the platform, you'll find the body of a dead worker. Take the maintenance key he has. Then pick the keycard that the enemy on the right has on him. Then take the stairs down and use it to open the door. Two guards will come at you from your right. Eliminate them and watch out for the mine close to you. Turn the corner ahead and three more enemies will be waiting for you. Once you've taken care of them, walk to the freight-elevator, but make sure you destroy the mine first. Push the elevator button (checkpoint), but it will freezes half-way down. Turn around and jump off without wasting a second, otherwise the freight platforme will fall down. Kill the two enemies that are on this floor (most of the times one of them will get caught in the flame jet). If you collected the maintenance key earlier, you can use it to open the door to your right. Inside, you'll find some items and a switch that will shut the fire. Otherwise, you'll have to pass quickly through when the flammes goes off for a few seconds. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// The second evidence is also located inside the maintenance room, on the big console. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Turn the next left corner and you'll face an enemy with a flame-thrower and full armor (similar to Red Jack). The tactic is the same: use any opening you have to shoot the fuel tank on his back. When he is down, use the door to the right (checkpoint). You know get in greenhouse. Many enemies will then attack you, including a few on catwalks above. Also there are not many obstacles behind which you can take cover, so moving around quickly will be your best bet. When you've taken all of them out, get to the lowest floorn (if you use the stairs near the entrance, make sure you destroy the mine first). More enemies will come at you. There are also two mines on the sides of this floor. When all the soldiers are down, go the the large door in the back and scan your hand. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// The last evidence is on this floor. When you get down using the stairs, go left and turn on your EDSU goggles. The evidence constists of a fruit among the plants. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Teresa will need some time while she hijacks the door. During that time, a few more guards will come down and attack you. Half-way in the fight, Teresa will accidently activate the sprinklers which will decrease your visibility. When you're done with them, go inside the control room and use the computer (objective completed/checkpoint). You must now defend your position from a last group of enemies, while you're trapped inside the room. Just make sure none of them gets too close, or they'll try to toss grenades at you. If one succeeds, find refuge in a corner to avoid the blast. Eliminate all remaining enemies. =============================================================================== iv. Freeman's Answer -- KemSynth Petroleum: Pipeline Substation <S09> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Rescue Malcom Freeman - Keep Lian alive - Eliminate Black King ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beware of the machine gun. Tell Lian to cover you and use the RTL to go over the hole. Take cover behind the guardrail while Lian is reloading. Keep moving while asking for covering fire from Lian until you get to the ladder. Climb it down (checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// Just before the ladder, there is a door to your left. Inside you will find the evidence and a few items. Hint: in order to get rif of the machine-gunner, climb down the ladder, than come back up and the enemies will be gone. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When you're down, a few foes will fire at you. Take cover behind an obstacle and shoot them down. Under the graffiti you'll find the second evidence. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fallow the path around the machinery. When you get to the other side, a couple of guards will attack you. Kill them and move forward and down the small slope. To your right will be three more enemies. Eliminate them and advance in their direction until you get to a fence gate. Use your EDSU goggles to shot the lock (checkpoint). You'll come across three soldiers in the trench ahead. Move carefuly and stay low. Take them one at the time. You'll end up in a corridor inside which a bunch of enemies are waiting. There are also a few mines so don't go too far in. Eliminate the enemies closer to you first and don't forget to disarm the mines using your ESDU goggles. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// See the passage on the left. At the end of it is a box containing a flak jacket, but there is also a trip mine protecting it. Disarm the mine and grab the evidence on the floor near the item box. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Climb the stairs in front and open the door for a cut scene. ********************** * Ennemy: Black King * ********************** Your firt task is to disarm the 5 detonators planted in the room. You have a 2:30 time limit. You can not kill Black Down unless you deal with the bombs first. The detonators are all in the same half of the room. Lian will also be there for covering fire. Order her to cover who and disarm the bombs while Black King is busy (you can easily disarm two detonators before he gets back to you). You can use your EDSU goggles to locate them more easily (notice that one is under the small stairs). When all the detonators are disarmed, you can fight Black King. He is wearing a flak jacket and a helmet which will make headshot more difficults. Yet, it remains the best way to defeat him. Old Friends -- KemSynth Botanicals: Insertion Point Alpha <S10> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Locate Addison Hargrove - Avoid collateral damage - Escort Addison Hargrove to her files - Escort and protect Addison Hargrove ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Try to remain stealthy as long as possible during the mission, as this will make you skip a lot of figthing. You start flatten against a box and a guard is patrolling up ahead on a balcony. Eliminate him while he is looking away (use a EDT or gas dart, or your Mark-23). Get out and turn the corner to your left and there will be a second guard in front. Shoot him down and advance towards where he was, but stay under cover. To your left, you will see another enemy manning the gun turret. Kill him using a silent dart (preferably gas) that you fire on the ground by his feet (because it is hard to get a clean shot to the body as he is covered by the machine gun). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// Near where you started the mission, there is a box against the wall of a small building to your left. Climb on it and on the roof. grab the beam and cross over the alleyway up to the next building to your right. Walk to the other end of the balcony and locate a vent duck: fire on the lock to open it. Go through it and you'll end up inside the building. Go to your left until you get behind an ennemy. Take him down silently and take the evidence he is carrying. To get back outside, fallow the same route backwards. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Make a few steps in the street and a guard will walk out and stops in front of you. Eliminate him and enter the building and the end of the street to your right. Once you get to the other side, there will be an cut scene (checkpoint). First headshot the guard on the balcony to your left, then the second one standing in the street further in front. Climb to the balcony where the first one was and equip your infrared goggles. Place yourself in front of the window and headshot Black Viper that is inside (checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// Before rescuing Addison is the best time to go get the second hidden evidence. Climb down in the street and walk up to the very end of it, then turn right. Climb over the pile of boxes and you will fall on a dead body on which there is the evidence. Grab it and come back to Addison. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Open the door and there will be a cut scene (objective completed/checkpoint). Now get back outside with Addison and take down the three soldiers that are attacking you from down in the street (be careful as the are powerfully armed). Fallow Addison back to the first street and fight your way through the many enemies that you will come across. There is an ammo box in on corner of the street. Be careful is one soldier manages to take control of the machine gun turret at the other end. If one does, use a dart to eliminate him. Note that you can also try to get to it, but it is not the most rewarding strategy. When the path is cleared, keep fallowing Addison to her apartment. Help her climb on the balcony. If the fuel tank under the balcony has been destroyed, fire will block your way in. There is a fire extinguisher a few steps back in the alleyway. Once inside Addison's room, there will be a cut scene (checkpoint). Move the file cabinet and get in the vent that was behind it. When you get to the other end, you'll hear a soldier talking to his superior. Get out from the duck and kill him. There will then be a cut scene (checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// If you wait until the end of the soldier's chat, he will tell you a combination (694) for a safe that is just to your left as you exit the vent. Collect the last evidence inside the safe. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two guys will start shooting at you from across the street. Eliminate them, and then take out your EDSU goggles. Locate the cart in the street under which there is a small fuel container: shoot it and the explosion will make the cart crash into the door below you. Get out through the window and reach the street. You will now have to fight against a great number of ennemis (around 20), some in the street and a few on the balconies around. Take them all out and go with Addison to the end of the street. =============================================================================== ii. Memories -- KemSynth Botanicals: Hargrove's Apartment <S11> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Cover Hargrove while she gathers plants - Prevent PRWC from entering KemSynth office - Rendezvous with Hargrove - Protect Hargrove en route to her room - Help Hargrove open cabinet ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first objective is pretty simple: cover Addison using the machine gun while she collects 3 plant samples. Take out the that represent the biggest threat first. Notice the many barrels that will explode if shot. When she is done (objective completed/checkpoint), Addison will go to an office in the back and soldiers will try to force their way in. Try to take them out before they can actually get inside. If one or more succeeds, you will still be able to eliminate them through the window. After a while, Hargrove will ask you to meet up with her (objective completed/checkpoint). ///////////////////////////////// / Hiddens evidences 1/3 and 2/3 / ///////////////////////////////// Now is a good time to look for the first two evidences, before you catch up with Addison. Head to the right of the area and you will find a narrow passage that leads to an entrance. In the garden, there is a dead body on which you will find the first evidence. Directly in front of the entrance to the garden is a fire extinguisher. Grab it and come back near the starting location. To the left of the balcony with the machine-gun is a pile of boxes in fire. Use the extinguisher to quench the flammes and make your way over the boxes. Behind you'll find a soldier's dead body and the second evidence is on him. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you do not have a better weapon, there is a Dragunov in a small room behind the machine-gun. Use the ladder to get down and head towards the office where Addison is waiting for you. After the cut scene (objective completed/ checkpoint), enemies will start running at you while their leader White Scorpion is manning the turret. Take supplies from the office (you'll find a flak jacket and munitions) and get out in the field while taking out the enemies attacking you. Use the many obstacles to take cover and make your way to the machine-gun. When you get to a comfortable distance, use a dart (gas or explosive) the you fire near White Scorpion to get rid of him. Once it's done, catch up with Hargrove and a firts wave of enemies will attack. Eliminate them (checkpoint). Fallow Hargrove to the tower while taking down a second wave. Once your at to top of the tower, a third wave will attack you from the ground. Snipe them off, and make sure they don't climb up to you. Fallow Addison to the balcony across using the AZL wire. Three enemies will be waiting for you ahead. Kill them (checkpoint) and another wave of heavily armed enemies will attack from the ground. Finally, fallow Addison to her apartment (objective completed/ checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// Before entering Addison's room, climb on the box to the left of the window. grab the edge above and move to your left until you get to a spot which you can land on. The last evidence is on their on the floor. Come back in your steps to Addison. If you manage to do it, you'll be rewarded with the M1 Super 90. I'll be indicating their location as we go. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// The first evidence is right at the start. Turn around and climb by the hole in the roof. Once you're outside, take out your EDSU goggles and locate the laser mine in frond of you. Destroy or disarm it and collect the evidence. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sneak behind the soldier and kill him (objective completed/checkpoint). After the cut scene, hide behind the white box near you. You'll see in front a guard stoping in the opening. Snipe him down and quietly move forward, as there is a second enemy patrolling further ahead. Eliminate him too and order Jenzen to meet you. Note that the first container is to the right, near the first big metal container (DU 1/5). Also beware of the green toxic spills, because they will hurt you if you walk in them. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// When you get in the area with all these big metal containers, turn right (no choice), but don't take the next right. Instead keep going forward and take the first passage to your left. At the end, there is a box with a flak jacket in it. Climb of the smaller box to your right, and on the higher boxes afterwards. The second evidence is lying there. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The path is blocked by rubbles. After you've gone around the first big container, turn right and walk until you get to a toxic spill. Climb on the box to your right, and again on the next one higher and grab the line. Move accross the place and there will be a cut scene. After a few enemy soldiers will start attacking. First, tell Jenzen who is still on the ground to go hide. Then, snipe the enemies from your position as they come. When the threat is gone, use your EDSU goggles to locate a warhead on the other side of the rubbles. Shoot it and the explosion will clear the path. Use the ladder to get down. Ask Jenzen to meet you and enter the vent near where the rubbles were. Once you get to the other side, you'll see two enemies. Take them down (checkpoint) and destroy the three containers on the counter to the left (DU 2, 3 and 4/5). Jenzen will then join with you and point to the way to go. Help him move the big pipe and there will be a cut scene. Now, you have to fight your way through many enemies, and most of them are heavily armed (with Jerico-41s). Order Jenzen to pull back at once (just press Square) and then safely take them out one by one. You'll see a couple of U.N. guys being killed, but don't try anything as nothing will save them. When the way is cleared, Climb on the small box to the left and grab the edge higher. Use it to get over the toxic spill. You'll be ambushed by three additionnal enemies. Deal with them and enter the building on the right. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// Once inside that building, go in the corridor in the back but turn on your EDSU goggles as there is a mine there. Disarm it and walk to the end of that corridor. The evidence is on the floor. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The last container is in that room (DU 5/5). Call Jenzen and he will try to and tell him to use the radio that is on the floor (objective completed/ checkpoint). =============================================================================== ii. This time you'll receive the M-16 if you can do it. The containers location will be indicated as we go. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As the mission starts, immediatly order Jenzen to pull back (press Square). Two enemies will attacking from the corridor on the left. Eliminate them and use your Nightvision goggles or flashlight to cross over the pit on the wood planks. Once on the other side, go hide right in frond of you, as one enemy will walk towards you from the right. Wait for the first one to pass by you and take him out. Note that the first DU container is right at your feet (DU 1/5). Tell Jenzen to fallow you and use your flashlight to show him the way on the planks. Then keep going and climb the stairs. If you did eliminate the last enemy using a non-silenced weapon, a second guard will be waiting there. Otherwise, he'll be a little more ahead, unaware of your presence. Cross over the next pit and help Jenzen again the same way as before. Take the door on the right (the second enemy will be there and will not be facing you). Kill him and ask Jenzen to use the radio that's lying in the room (checkpoint). When the floor collapses, climb down in this newly-formed hole and you'll then hear two guards talking. Hide behind the wall and press Square to make Jenzen walk to your exact position: he'll then be hidden too. Eliminate the guards and walk up the corridor to locate a vent on the left. Destroy the lock and crawl in it. On the other side, flatten yourself against the wall in front and come close to the corner. You will see two enemies: one near you and another way ahead, behind a condemmed doorway (blocked with wooden boards). Take out the one closer to you first (silently if possible) and then deal with the second while he is not looking at you (he should'n be at all unless you've made some noise). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// Come close to the condemned door and turn left just before. Turn on your EDSU goggles and locate the U.N. soldier's body in a corner. The first evidence is on him. Back to the guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Press Triangle to kick the lower planks and crawl under (you can also shoot the planks). quickly hide behind the closest box to your right and take down the soldier patrolling ahead. Then tell Jenzen to join up with you. Walk to the other end of the corridor and turn left to destroy the second container (DU 2/5). Make a 180-turn and walk under the hole in the ceiling. Press Square to boost Jenzen up and to climb with him. quickly get on your feet because two enemies will start firing at Jenzen. Tell him to find cover and eliminate your targets. Near where they were, in the toxic spill, you'll see a warhear. Shoot it to make a part of the wall break away and you'll be able to cross. To the right is another container (DU 3/5). Keep going to the next hole in the floor and eliminate the five enemies on the lowest floor. Climb down and bring Jenzen with you. Walk to your right and you'll come across two enemy guards. Take them out and a second pair of guards will come take their place. Do the same with them and advance to the end of the corridor. Locate the vent and use it to get to the next section (checkpoint). When you get out, quickly find cover behind the box to your right. There are two enemies here. Eliminate them quickly and call Jenzen. There is also a container near you (DU 4/5). Fallow the corridor up to another barricated door. Destroy the planks blocking the way. Sneak behind the enemy kneeling near a pit (if you've made some noise, he'll attack you though). Kill him and help Jenzen to move the wooden board to create a bridge. Cross over the pit and open the door (checkpoint). After the cut scene, you'll find yourself leant against a box. There are three guards in front of you, near the tent. Snipe them from your position and them walk up to the next similar box. Climb on it, reach the ladder and climb onto the catwalk. Two enemies will then burst in and attack you, one in front and the other on the right. Use the metal board in the guardrail to take cover and get rid of them. Fallow the footbridge to the other side and three more enemies will attack you. Deal with the two closest to you first, and then take care of the third one to your left. Advance to the end of the catwalk for a cut scene (checkpoint). Your task now is to cover Jenzen as he tries to join up with you. Use the zip line to get to the ground and come back to the front of the tent. Eliminate enemies to give Jenzen a change to reach the footbridge (you must press the Square button to tell him to move when the path is cleared). A new wave of enemies will then attack, some on the catwalk, others on the ground. Deal with the enemies more threatening to Jenzen first (mostly those on the catwalk) and only after the other ones (checkpoint). When Jenzen finally makes it up to your position, a third wave of enemies will come in. Be careful as they are in greater number and more heavily armed then previously. When they are all down, lead Jenzen to the ladder to the right. At the top you'll find a radio for him to use (objective completed/checkpoint). Teresa will then give you a 3-digit code (541): remember it. Climb back down to the ground afterwards. //////////////////////////////// / Hidden evidences 2/3 and 3/3 / //////////////////////////////// The second evidence is on the left side of the tend, on a corpse. The third evidence is trickier to get. Still on the left of the tend, find a pile of boxes and climb on it. Then reach the catwalk above and you'll find another corpse on which the evidence is. And this time you'll get the M4 for doing it. Their position will be indicated as we go. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first container is immediatly to your left as you start the level. It is behind the iron bars; use your ESDU if needed (DU 1/5). Fallow the corridor on your right and open the door. Take the stairs down and open the next door. This will get in in a large courtyard. Three enemies are patrolling in this area. Use the large tanks to your advantage (use your infrared goggles to locate them). Eliminate them and cross over to the other end the courtyard. Locate the ladder, but before you climb, make a few more steps and destroy the container (DU 2/5). Now climb up the ladder and go left. Two enemies will then burst in on the same floor you're on. There are not many places where to take cover and you must beware of the warheads that are scattered around the place (including one near you as you get off the ladder). Quickly deal with these foes and keep going. Take the second left, and then left again and walk up to the medical cabinet. Before you open, you should resplendish your ammo, armor and health (the flak jacket and med-kit are in the corner to your right). Now open the cabinet (objective completed/checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// Before you get to the cabinet, turn left and come close to the metal beams blocking the way. The evidence is lying on the floor there. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the cut scene, a wave of enemies will attack you from several angles. Use the boxes near you for cover, but make sur you eleminate the enemies on your right too. Remember to take advantage of the warheads around. When your way is safe, come back in footsteps to the ladder and get down. A few more enemies will try to ambush you, including a sniper far up (probably your biggest threat). Use the colums to take cover. Come back like this up to the tent and you'll get a cut scene (objective completed/checkpoint). The action starts back in the courtyard, partly destroyed. Foor enemies will burst from a door above. They are all equiped with flak jackets so a good strategy is to use your darts (except for the gas darts because they also are wearing gas masks). You can also go for headshots. Note that there are no obstacles you can lean against, so it is harder to hide from enemy fire. Climb over the scrap using the collapsed catwalk and turn left. Climb on the catwalk and three additionnal non-armored enemies will attack. Take cover behing the metal plate in the guardrail to your left and quickly eliminate the ones coming at you. When you're done, go through the door they were coming from. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// Before you go through the door, walk to the end of the catwalk and collect the evidence. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Take what you need from the items you'll come across as you advance in the corridor (checkpoint). Open the door at the end that leads to a small courtyard. A bunch of enemies are waiting on the other side. Notice the warhead right in front of you on a box. If you want the third evidence, make sure it does not get destroyed. Either way, don't stay still in the doorway, but rather run to cover. Take out the enemies the safe way, one by one, until you cleared the area. Use the warheads and other explosives elements. These includes the remaining warheads. The first is near a grey container, lower then the others (DU 3/5). The second is near a door you can't open on the right (DU 4/5) and finally the last is on the other side of the couryard, to the right (DU 5/5). Near there you'll also see a ladder. Take it up and two enemies will attack you from another footbridge across. Take them both down, and use the RTL to cross over. Two more enemies will burst from your right. Use the guardrail for cover and eliminate them. RTL again to the next catwalk. Again enemies will attack you (three this time). When they are all down, advance and turn left. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// Provided the wooden plank has not been destroyed, use it to get to the other side. You'll be able to collect the last evidence on a body there. There is also a box with an AU300 H-Bar there. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Climb on the small box and grab the edge. Move to your right, around the corner and until you get to the next catwalk. Open the nearby door and fallow the corridor, gathering the suppplies you need, up to the next one. Open it and go down the stairs. =============================================================================== iv. The Trojan Horse -- Tuzla Munitions: Machine Courtyard <S15> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectifs : - Eliminate Kress - Destroy tank ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First eliminate the two guys in front. Leave your position and turn left. Two enemies will use zip lines to get down from. Deal with these two and be ready for three more soldiers coming fron the sides. When they are all down, two foes with rocket-launchers will take position on each wall. Kill them checkpoint). ++++++++ + Hint + ++++++++ These two rocket-launcher guys may be a pain in the neck to deal with, especially on Hard mode in which they'll fire much more rapidly. The best place to take cover is a cavity on the left of the truck (there are boxes there forming a L shape). From there you'll be safer then anywhere else, mostly because their rockets will hit with less precision. Fisrt take down the soldier on the left wall, who should be easier to see. Wait for him to fire once (on other difficulty levels, they might not shoot unless they see you, so then you should take the first shot), and then fire a dart on them (best way to take them out on one shot, unless you have a better weapon). The second guard is more difficult to get a good shooting angle on, but you can take the shod by moving left while still being covered by the lower box. You'll most likely managed to hit your target. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **************** * Enemy: Kress * **************** Kress is not truly more powerful than your average grunt, but he is heavily armed (with a AU300 H-BAR) and he wears a flak jacket with helmet. Move a lot because he will otherwise corner you. Try to aim for the head, although the helmet will make the shot trickier. You can otherwise use a dart which will work on him (objective completed/ chekpoint). *************** * Enemy: Tank * *************** After the cut scene, you get back into the action flatten against a box near the tank. Wait for him to shoot once with its main gun and then fall back to the back of the truck. There you will find a rocket-launcher and an ammo box. You can only carry one rocket at the time, so you'll definitely need this ammo box. Turn on your EDSU goggles and locate your three targets: one on the front and the other two on each flank of the tank. Wait for it to fire, come out and fire a rocket. I advise you aim for the flanks first. After you've destroyed a first panel, the tank machine-gun start firing too. This will make your moving around more risky. Otherwise the strategy is the same: wait for the main gun to fire once, and take your shot. A few enemis will also use the zip lines to attack you. Destroy all three pannels to end the fight (objective completed). =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 5. Root of All Evil =- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =============================================================================== i. Fist Full of Rubles -- Konigsberg Casino: Insertion Point Alpha <S16> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Obtain Viktor Yavlinsky's fingerprint - Gain access to main casino - Obtain security keycard - Avoid collateral damage ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You start this mission against a column. I strongly suggest that you remain stealthy during all the mission, or at least for as long as possible. I will however explain how to proceed if you get spotted later in this guide. Two guards are patrolling the courtyard while a searchlight sweeps the area. Take a few minutes to observe the path taken by each enemy. While the one on the right turns his back to you, move up two columns and hide to the right of it. Now wait for the same guard to move up to what is now your left and take him down using a silent weapon when he stops. The other enemy is then quite easy to take care of. Don't forget to shoot the spotlight. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// The first hidden evidence is located left of the main entrance, on the body of a prostitute half-burried in the snow. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To the right of the main entrance is a ladder. Climb it and walk up to the other end of the balcony. Press Triangle to connect Lian to the surveillance system. This is not an objective, but this way Lian will be able to tip you off the presence of enemies. Climb down on the ground, turn around and go to the opposite corner of the courtyard (e.i. right to where the searchlight was). There is another ladder there. Climb it and reach the other end of the balcony. Climb on the vine up to the cornice above. Move to the right and grab the ledge above. Keep moving to the right, past the corner, until you reach Yavlinski's balcony. Enter his room and get the digital print on the bottle near the window (objective completed/ checkpoint). ++++++++++++ + Strategy + ++++++++++++ Under the right pillow on the bed is a Desert Sniper .357. You can take it if you wish, but keep in mind that it is not a silent weapon which then should not be very useful providing you try to keep it stealthy as I suggested earlier. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Come closer to the bedroom door, but stay inside the room. Two guards are patrolling the corridor. The first one will stop right in front of you whereas the second is further to your right. When the one near you turns around, get behind him without fallowing him past the two statues: there's a laser mine between them. Take out your MB-150 and prepare your gas darts. You need to take out the two enemies when they get near each other. Use your infrared goggles to see them better. When the first guard stops at the other end of the corridor, shoot a gas dart on the floor, a little bit to his right. When the second guard stops near his friend, detonate the dart which should kill them both. After, switch to your EDSU goggles and disarm to the mines in the corridor. When it is done, open the second door on your left and go into the room. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// You will find the second evidence in this room, on the right side of the bed on the ground. There is also a Shot Defender near the desk. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go out through the window and onto the balcony. Turn left and silently eliminate the guard, who has his back turned to you. Further ahead is the chief of security threatening a prostitute. Kill him immediatly with a headshot. Enter in the room on the left and collect the security keycard that is on the desk (objective completed/checkpoint). Exit back in the corridor and walk up to the end of it. Open both the successive doors and you will get in a large hall. There are three enemies in this area, one on the second floor (on which you are) and two on the lower floor. The one on your level should be in the back. Use your infrared goggles and sneak up to him. Eliminate him when you see an opening. Still using your IR goggles, locate the two remaining guards. Climb down the main stairs while making sure you are not seen. From the lower part of the stairs, you should be able to get a shot at both guards, as they stop one at the time. When the way is safe, climb down the remaining steps and go left to the security door. Use your keycard to open it (objective completed/checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// The last evidence is on the lower floor of the hall. Go behind the stairs and it is located on one of the painting on the right half of the wall. Use your EDSU goggles to spot it (it is a small papper in the bottom right corner). ||||||||||||||||||| | = Alternative = | ||||||||||||||||||| The other way to beat this level is by being spotted right from the beginning. At first you will need to face a lot of enemies coming from all sides in the courtyard. Destroy to spotlight when you can, otherwise you wil be an easier target. Enter the casino by the main door and turn right. Turn on your EDSU goggles and locate the laser mine near the statue. Four enemies will attack you in the meantime. Eliminate them and destroy or disarm the mine. You will then get to a metal detector which you can simply ignored since the place is already on alert. Still you can use your EDSU goggles to locate the switch in the wall and shoot it to deactive the detector. When you get the the hall, a great number of enemies will attack you. Eliminate him and climb to the first floor. Go get the print from Yavlinski's room and the security keycard fallowing the path described above. You will come across a few additionnal enemies in the corridor near the bedrooms as well as when you get back to the hall. NOTE: If you are spotted at any time during this mission, there will be consequences in the next mission, e.i. enemies will alreay be alerted of your presence. Refer to the "Alternative" section at to bottom of the next mission. =============================================================================== ii. Blood Money -- Konigsberg Casino: Ottokar Hall <S17> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Retrieve and capture MI6 recording devices - Eliminate Viktor Yavlinsky - Find the hidden MI6 recording devices - Transmit evidence to Lian - Escape the casino ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two enemies are playing on a pool table in front of you. Wait for the two to get close to each other and kill him both at the time using a gas dart. Cross the room and exit in the corridor. Near the corner is an guard standing still and turning his back to you. Take the easy headshot and then take out your EDSU goggles. Turn around the corner and locate the laser mines. Disarm them (if you destroy them the noise will blow your stealth). As you get close to the security room (it's the first room on the right), you will hear Yavlinski talking. Listen to the code he gives away: 4-1-5. Wait for him to finish his conversation and take him down before he sees you (objective completed/ checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// Go in the security room and open the door in the back that leads to the interrogation room. The evidence is on the table. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Get back to the corridor and turn right. Keep disarming the mines until you get near the next corner. When you do, hide on the wall on the left and you will see a guard in front going back and forth. Shoot him down when he turns around. Keep going up to the end of the corridor and take down the guard on your left, behind the cloakroom. Climb over the counter and walk up to Ottokar Hall. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// The second evidence is in on of the coats hung on the right. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ottokar Hall is guarded by three enemies. Flatten yourself near the door, but keep yourself from entering the hall. Turn on your infrared goggles to see the guards better. One is on the first floor balcony and the two others are down with you. Take the one upstairs first using a silent dart. Then carefuly enter the hall and come closer to the bar. The two remaining guards are on your right. The one closest to you frequently looks in your direction. As soon as he turn his head in the other direction, sneak behind him and kill him (using your knife is a good strategy here). Then take care of the last enemy. Climb up the stairs on the left side of the bar and walk up to the opposite side of the room. Open the door using the scanner (the print you got in the previous mission works here too). Grab the surveillance material on the table (objective completed/checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// There is another locked door in the back of this room. The code given earlier by Yavlinski will work here (4-1-5). On the wall in front is a safe, also code- locked. This code is hard as hell to find! It is actually written on the calculator screen in the security room in which you took Yavlinski down. It is 9-1-9. The evidence is inside the safe. ||||||||||||||||||| | = Alternative = | ||||||||||||||||||| Notice that the stairs (left of the safe) lead to the corridor of the beginning. The door to the corridor is locked using the same 3-digit code (e.i. 4-1-5). So that is also another way to access Ottokar Hall. The guards are easy to take down using your MB-150 darts. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Come back in the hall and go downstairs. Use your EDSU goggles to easily locate the three MI6 surveillance devices hidden in the room (on his behind the bar, another is near a statue and a third one is on a gambling table) (objective completed/checkpoint). Come back to the security room where Yavlinski was and use the laptop to transmit the data (objective completed/checkpoint). You must now fight your way to Ottakar Hall through armored enemies. You will come across a few of them, all heavily armed and wearing full-body flak jackets. As you kill a first one, I strongly suggest that you take the AU300 H-BAR he was using. Eliminate the first two, then go the direction they were in. Two other soldiers are past the corner. Once they are down, go through the cloakroom and into Ottokar Hall. Kill the last enemies and go to the front door (objective completed/checkpoint). NOTE: For this last part, with the armored foes, the way to Ottokar Hall I described earlier that goes through the code-locked doors is not longer available, the door being locked again (no code will work). You then have no other choice than to work your way ground floor. ||||||||||||||||||| | = Alternative = | ||||||||||||||||||| If you have been spotted in the previous mission (bein "Fist Full of Rubles"), of if you are in this level, the order of things to do remains the same. However the enemies will obviously attack you as you come. Yavlinski can be especially tough in those conditions. Not only is he heavily armed (with a AU300 H-Bar), but he also stands in a pretty tight location (e.i. the security room) which leaves not much room to fight. Using a dart or aiming the head in order to prevent the fight from lasting too long is the best strategy. For the rest, just be prepared to defend yourself against the enemies which should be more or less in the same spots as I described above. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 6. Touchstone =- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =============================================================================== i. Meeting with Fate -- Zugspitze Pass: Insertion Point Alpha <S18> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Eliminate 4 snipers - Access compound - Rescue civilians ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Be aware that there are a lot of enemies in this level and that the are all powerfully armed. Some of the will respawn each time you enter a new area. The trick then is to limit your movements in order to come across as few enemies as possible. When the mission starts, take out your MB-150. To your left, on a roof far away, is the first sniper. A second one is to your right closer to you. They both wear flak jackets, so aim for their head or use a dart. When you're done with them, use the ladder to get down and walk towards the catwalk in front of you. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// Before you reach the catwalk, look to your left through your EDSU goggles. You will see a small lock over a gate in the guardrail. Shoot it to make it open and get down (carefully so you don't fall to your death). Turn left and to the end of the roof and get the evidence on your left. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you turn the first corner, two soldiers with Sweeper 12-gauge will block your way. Stay covered and wait for openings to shoot back at them. They too are wearing flak jackets. When the path is cleared, keep going up to the next corner. Down the stairs are a few enemies patrolling the area, as well as the two remaining snipers. The enemies on the ground are all equiped with full-body armors which protect them against headshots. Don't come-down the stairs, but rather take cover on the catwalk. Use either a powerful weapon or your MB-150 darts to eliminate them. The third sniper is located on a roof slightly on your left, whereas the last one is on a roof on the building to your right. Save him for last because you will have to come down the stairs in order to see him (objective completed/ checkpoint). New enemies will attack you from a deck above. They do not wear flak jackets. Moreover, using your EDSU goggles you can spot a barrel behind them. Shoot it to create an explosion that will wipe them all out. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// Climb up where the last enemies were standing and go left. Use your EDSU goggles to locate the lock on the guardrail. Shoot it and climb down on the roof. Go right and pick up the evidence on the body there. Then, come back in your footsteps to where you were. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go to the left of the deck where the last enemies were standing. You will see there a horizontal pipe that you can grab. Move to your left, pass the corner and drop yourself on the platform (checkpoint). Climb down on the lower platform and use the ladder to reach the lower catwalk. You will get a welcome from a bunch of enemy soldiers coming from your right. Stay where you are and take them out as the pop in front of you. Now fallow the catwalk ahead while dealing with the enemies you come across. Stop when you reach a ladder on your left and climb it. At the top you will see the body of a worker. He has a security card you will need (checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// Step over the pipe and walk up to the end of the cornice. The evidence is on your right. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Take the ladder back down and backtrack, still shooting down the soldiers you meet on your way. When you reach the place where you got down earlier, take your left and advance to the end of the catwalk. After the cut scene (checkpoint), turn on your infrared goggles. You have 8 seconds to save the hostage. Place yourself right in front and aim a little left to the hostage's head. The soldier sway a little, giving you a few openings to take a headshot (objective completed/checkpoint). Walk up to the door and use your security keycard to get in (objective completed). =============================================================================== ii. Into the Abyss -- Zugspitze Pass: Gondola Room <S19> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Eliminate Touchstone - Rescue civilians ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You start off flatten against a wall. An armored soldier stands near you and two more are patrolling further. Eliminate the one near you using using either your knife or a dart (a headshot won't work). Either way, you will shortly be spotted and will have to deal with reinforcement, of which two snipers located on the upper and lower floors. Also beware of two laser mines further on the catwalk. Don't forget though that you can use them to your advantage. When the area is secured, walk to the end of the catwalk and open the door. Once in the corridor, a civilian will come running at you, fallowed by two soldiers. Stay covered and make sure you don't get collateral damage. Take down the two enemies (they wear flak jackets), then advance up to the next corner. Two additional enemies will then attack you. When you've dealt with them, walk foward until a part of the wall blows up, what will be fallowed by a cut scene (checkpoint). You now have little time to act and rescue the civilians trapped inside the elevator down in the shaft. Crouch-walk to the edge to hang yourself. Move to your left, turn the corner and get up on the platform. Use the ladder to get down to the elevator (you can hold X along the way to slide down the ladder). Once on the top of the elevator, turn on you EDSU goggles and locate the trapdoor lock. Shoot it to set the civilians free and get out in the corridor on your left before the elevator falls (objective completed/checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// You must be real quick in order to pick up the first evidence which is inside the elevator. Drop youself in using the trapdoor you just opened for the civilians, take the evidence in the corner and quickly get out. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More enemies will attack you on your right. Take them out and fallow the corridor while dealing with a few more enemies on your way. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// Enter the bathroom on your left near the end of the corridor. Ignore the enemy on the toilet seat (he won't get out) and pick up the evidence by the sink. You will also find a couple of M-67 grenades. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Open the door at the end of the corridor and get ready to face around ten enemies, including a few snipers on the catwalks above. You can stay inside the corridor in order to narrow the enemies angle of attack. Take note that all enemies wear flak jackets here. When you manage to secure the area, cross over the atrium to the door on the left. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// The last evidence is inside the atrium, near one of the trees. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You are now in a corridor similar to all previous ones, with enemies waiting for you each time you pass a corner. Keep going until you reach the end. Open the door (checkpoint). ********************** * Ennemy: Touchstone * ********************** Touchstone has taken your MB-150 and will try to use it against you. He moves around on a catwalk higher and will sometimes take cover inside. His weapon is not that powerful, but try not to stay still for too long. Also be on your guards as Touchstone may use a gas dart. He will most of the time tip you off saying something like "I wonder what's this button for..." Besides, a few enemies will come by the funicular or by the same door you came through. If needed, there is a flak jacket on top of the pile of boxes, as well as an ammo box inside the funicular. The strategy is actually pretty straight foward: use every opening to fire at Touchstone. Keep in mind that if you are about to be overpowered, you can always come back inside (using the same door you came through) in order to resplenish your armor or ammo. Overall, as you will find out, the battle is quite easy. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -= 7. Singularity =- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- =============================================================================== i. Red Section -- Aerospace Integrated: Insertion Point Alpha <S20> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Assist Lian's infiltration - Inspect truck cargo - Infiltrate AIT Research Facility - Eliminate commander ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 1/3 / /////////////////////// As soon as you start, crawl under the trailer on your right and you will be able to get inside once you get to the other side. The first evidence is there. You can get out through the back doors of the trailer. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fallow Lian and activate the forklift in order to let her climb on the trailer truck. Fallow right after her and leg her up to the catwalk above (checkpoint). After the cut scene, you have to provide cover fire for Lian as she crosses the yard hung on a cornice. Enemies will appear in three spots: the first one is on the catwalk directly in front of you, the second is on that same catwalk to your right, and the last is more to the left. There will also be two soldiers on the ground. First of all, destroy the search light, then eliminate all threats as they come as quickly as possible until Lian reaches her destination (objective completed/chekpoint). ++++++++++++ + Strategy + ++++++++++++ Actually this objective proves itself to be one of the thoughest of the whole game, especially if you play it on Hard mode. You are not truly in danger during that time, but Lian may get killed in a matter of seconds. You must therefore act quickly to eliminate enemies as they take position. If you leave one alone for too long, he'll have the time to aim well and inflict Lian a lot of damage. Take note that they all wear flak jackets, forcing you to either aim for the head or use a MB-150 dart. If you are playing on Mission mode, you can also select a more powerful weapon that can tear up their flak jacket quickly enough (like the C11). Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Go behind the truck in front of you. Pick up the keycard on the dead soldier, then turn around and get to the control room at the other end of the courtyard. Enter using your keycard and press the button on the wall to activate the crane. Come back outside and go in the corner where the crane is. Grab the metal beam and press Square to tell Lian to lift you up. Drop yourself on the boxes and cross the to trailer using the RTL. Sneak inside through the hole in the roof and examine the load (objective completed/checkpoint). You can get out either through the back door of the trailer, or going back to way you came. Three enemies are now patrolling outside, so going by the roof might be the safest method. Two guards are in the yard, whereas the other is in a small alley to the right. He will come in if he is alerted. Eliminate them all, then get in this alley and find a ladder. Climb it and go hide behind the nearest box. A soldier will stop right in front of you. Shoot him down, then walk up to the door. /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 2/3 / /////////////////////// Near this door is a wooden box blocking a vent duck. Fire on the box to destroy it and shoot the lock to open up the vent. Crawl to the other side, then go to the back. Look to your right. The evidence is on the ground. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Open the door and eliminate the soldier in front of you. Come closer to the working vent. You freeze it by firing a EDT dart at the center of the vent. However these specific darts will really come in handy later on, so I suggest that you keep them for then. Instead, you can fallow the indications given for the second hidden evidence and you will find a control panel for the vent near there. Cross through the vent when you can (checkpoint). Take cover right away, as many enemies will run at you from the other end of the corridor. Locate a button on the wall. Shooting it will electrify a wire that is near it. It can help you get rid of some enemies. When you've taken care of all of them, fallow the corridor and use the door on the right. Go throug the next door too and you will end up on a roof. Use the ATL to get down on the ground (checkpoint). ****************************** * Ennemy: EM-armored soldier * ****************************** You weapons are useless against the electro-magnetic armored commander. He is also very well armed (with a C11). Lian is positionned on the roof and can provide you with covering fire when you press the Square button. The only way to beat him is to use an EDT dart to temporarily fry his armor. Tell Lian for cover fire, and use that opening to fire an EDT dart at the commander. Inflict him as much damage as possible before his armor charges up again. Repeat the strategy until he is dead. If you run out of EDT dart, you will have to depend on Lian. Wait for a few moments (while keeping your distances) and Lian will eventually throw EM grenades at the commander. Also note that there you can find a RPK inside the truck, which could be helpful for the next missions. The mission ends when the commander is down (objective completed). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// BEFORE you kill the commander, make sure you grab the last evidence. It is located on the pile of boxes to the right of the truck. Ask Lian to cover you as you climb to get it. =============================================================================== ii. Drowning -- Aeropsace Integrated: Hydro Simulation Room <S21> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Locate Singularity - Rescue Blake - Destroy all the computers ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You're back with Lian for this mission. You start in a security room, surrounded by guards looking away from you. Silently take them out one by one (use your knife or break their neck). Take note however that two of the guards are having some chat, so make sure you kill them while they are not talking, or his companion will notice. I also suggest that you pick up their Desert Express .375 if you do not have a better pistol. Leave the room and fallow the corridor. You will come across two guards: just take them out and keep going until there is a cut scene (checkpoint). After that, you have only three minutes to rescue Blake. First, three soldiers will attack you from the level below. You may want to use your infrared goggles to spot them better. Snipe them and then get down on the catwalk in front of you. When you reach halfway, two enemies will pop out on the platform ahead. Eliminate them (you can shoot the gas cylinders near them), then climb where they were standing. Now use the ATL to get down on the floor below. //////////////////////////////// / Hidden evidences 1/3 and 2/3 / //////////////////////////////// Enter the room on your right (after you've ridden the ATL). You will find the first two evidences on each of the desks. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Left of you is a RTL. Use it to cross over to the other side. Beware though as an enemy will attack you before you reach your destination. Take him out quickly using your pistol. Once you reach the other side, three more enemies wil attack you from a level below. Deal with them and use the ladder to your left to get down to their floor. Go around the room and use the slope to get down in the basin where Blake is. Go behind the machinery and open up to two valves. Then come back to free Blake (objective completed/checkpoint). Right after the cut scene, a new wave of enemies will attack you, including one already in the basin with you. Kill him first, then prevent to other from coming down. Don't climb up the slope until you are certain that you will be safe. Once on the catwalk, go around the room and in the now opened door (checkpoint). In the corridor ahead is a guard with an EM armor. Immediately take cover. When you see an opening, pick up the EMP grenades in a box on the right side of the corridor. Normal foes will attack along with the EM guy. Use an EMP grenade or one of your EDT dart to disable the EM armor and inflict him as much damage as possible before it reboots. Also pay attention to the other enemies or they'll run up to you, leaving you no chances. When you've cleared the corridor, fallow it until you reach the end and there will be a cut scene (checkpoint). You must now destroy all computers in the room. But first, a bunch of enemies will attack you, coming in from a door on the left. Eliminate them, then shoot all computer screens (use your EDSU goggles to see which ones are left). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// The last evidence is near one of the computers. It is the one on the lower level on the right. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When all computers are destroyed, new enemies will burst in, this time from a door on the right side of the room. One of them has an EM armor. Use to columns by the right wall to take cover. If needed, there are other EMP grenades in a box in the small room. The strategy remains the same against the EM armor. When all sodliers are down, go through the door they just opened. You'll find the last computer to destroy in the back left corner (objective completed). =============================================================================== iii. Event Horizon -- Aerospace Integrated: Centrifuge Room <S22> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Rescue Blake - Stop the centrifuge - Protect Lian - Detonate explosives to breach blast doors - Locate Singularity ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Come close to the window. Crouch so that the soldier on the other side don't see you. Then press Square to order Lian to take him out and to open the door (checkpoint). If the guard did see you, he'll release some poison gas in the air. If so, immediately tell Lian to come in so that she can eleminate the guard before you're dead. When the door is opened, an enemy guard will soon stop right in the opening (except if you have been spotted, then all enemies will already be aware of your presence). Stay inside the room so that he can not see you. When he turns around, sneak behind him and take him out silently if possible. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Enter the elevator and there will be a cut scene (checkpoint). When you get in the centrifuge room, locate the open door that you must reach (on your left). However, it is too far to reach going left, so you will have to take to long way around. As soon as the centrifuge passes in front of you, run for the next cavity on your right. The timing is very close, but it is quite doable. Keep going from cavity to cativies until you reach the said door. Fallow the corridor up to a slope. Three enemies will be waiting for you there, each wearing a flak jacket. Take them out and keep going until you reach an automatic door. It'll open right on an enemy who will order you to freeze. Use this split second to headshot him before he can react. There will then be a cut scene (objective completed/checkpoint). Turn on your EDSU goggles and notice how the computer are wired together by pair. Ask Blake to active a computer while you go activate to correponding one. Repeat for the second pair, then go to the central console to stop the centrifuge (objective completed/checkpoint). Lian will now go attach explosives to the centrifuge head. Cover her from your position as a few enemies will attack her (there is a M82 BFG in the corner of the room you're in). When Lian is done (objective completed/checkpoint), wait for her to get away before you put the centrifuge back on. When the head gets near the shield door, press Square to detonate (objective completed/ checkpoint). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// The last evidence is on the centrifuge head. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Come back in the centrifuge room and go through the blasted door (checkpoint). Two EM-armored soldiers will take position down in the corridor. There are a few EMP grenades on the left. Use them carefully, along with your EDT darts, because that is all you will have to fight them. Use the more powerful weapon you have to inflict them as much damage as possible when their armor is down. When they are both dead, take the slope down and pick up the keycard on one of the sodliers. There are also more EMP grenades in a box near them, which will be very helpful for the next mission. Then open the door with the keycard. =============================================================================== iv. Matter's End -- Aerospace Integrated: Train Station <S23> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: - Eliminate Singularity ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *********************** * Ennemy: Singularity * *********************** Singularity is wearing an EM armor, identical to all the ones you have meat already. But he is also very resistant even without his armor, meaning that you will have to inflict him a lot of damage to kill him. As you start, you will find near you EMP grenades and a flak jacket. When you've resplenish your armor and grenades, take cover behind one of the columns. Use an opening to cross the first railway and immediately take cover behind one of the maps. Near you is also a box containing a C11 (a weapon I strongly recommand you). Trains will come in often, so you don't have to worry about behind hit. Also keep in mind that, appart from the one I mentionned above, there are no flak jackets except the one on the enemies. Singularity flanked with two or three soldiers at the time, who are replace each time you take one down. Singularity becomes very difficult to take down with all those guy around. The best thing to do is to take out all the soldiers before (there are around 20 of them, after which no more will come). Then, you can focus on Singularity. The strategy is again the same as with previous EM armors : throw an EMP grenades or shoot a EDT dart on Singularity to disable his armor, then switch to a powerful weapon and do as much damage as you can. On "Difficult" mode however, it may take you a while since Singularity will have a lot of health. Once the other enemies are gone, you can cross over to the deck he's on. This will allow you to get more accurate shots. Yet it is obviously more dangerous for you. Even if you get hit a lot though, their should be plenty flak jackets around there from all the enemies you've killed earlier (which were almost all on that platform!). Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Your first task is to eliminate all three of Aramov's bodyguards. The first one is on the roof of the building right in front of you. He's going back and forth. The second is in an apartment to your right, on the same level as you (you see him through his window). The third one is down in the streets right under Aramov's apartment. While the guard on the roof is looking away, silently take out the guard on your right. Then quickly snipe the one on the roof (or pull back inside your apartment until you turns around again). Finally take out the last guard in the street (objective completed/checkpoint). //////////////////////////////// / Hidden evidences 2/3 and 3/3 / //////////////////////////////// If you can eleminate all three guards without being seen, there will be a cut scene. You'll earn the last two evidences after that. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You know have to eliminate Mara and Elsa. The first is going back and forth in her room, whereas the second is standing still. There are three possible outcomes: 1) You wait for Mara to walk in front of Elsa and you kill them both with one shot. Stand crouched on your balcony so that your aim won't move as much, and wait for Mara to come close to Elsa. Fire a split second before both heads get aligned. A few tries might be necessary. 2) You kill Elsa first. Mara will then come out in the streets and will attack you. She is well armed and will run in all direction, making it very hard for you to hit her. 3) You kill Mara. Elsa will come out and try to run away. She won't be going far... ;-) (Objectives completed) =============================================================================== ii. You're confined to a limited space and you must shoot a number of enemies. There will be 7 attack waves. In a corner, to your left, is a box with a flak jacket. You will find a new one inside during each wave. 1st wave: Three enemies, down in the courtyard. 2nd wave: Three enemies, on the catwalk in front. 3rd wave: Three enemies, on a catwalk to your left. 4th wave: Four enemies, again down in courtyard. 5th wave: Four enemies, behind the column to the right. 6th wave: Five enemies, on the roofs to your right. 7th wave: The commander, a guy with a full-body armor, down on the ground. Aim the fuel tank on his back. (Objective completed) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + Strategy: Against the clock - 2:42 + ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If you can completed this level in less than 2:42, you'll earn the M249 SAW. Harder to get on Story Mode, I suggest you try it on Mission mode so that you can choose a more powerfull sniper. Overall it is not that much of a challenge, a few tries should be all you need. =============================================================================== iii. Trapped in The Hornests Nest -- Sana Yemen <S26> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >> How to obtain: Earn Combat Shard Shooter 4 patch << ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objective: - Eliminate all YLA terrorists ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is again a arcade-like mission, asking you too take down all targets from the balcony you are trapped on. There will be 7 attack waves. In a corner to your left is a flak jacket. A new one will appear inside the box before each wave. In the opposite corner is a box containing ammo for your AR-15. The enemies are more powerful than in the previous mission, so be aware. 1st wave: Four enemies, in front, two on a footbridge and two on the ground. 2nd wave: Four enemies, in the towers further ahead. 3rd wave: Four enemies, first three in a building near you, then a fourth on the ground. 4th wave: Four enemies, on your left. On on the roof, on on a footbridge and two on the ground. 5th wave: Four enemies, in the same direction as the previous ones, but further in the distance. 6th wave: Three enemies, on the opposite side of the palace. One is in a window, another is near stairs on the right and a third one is on the wall to the left (checkpoint). 7th wave: Two enemies, on the footbridge between the towers in front. They are armed with SMAW. ******************************** * Ennemy: Terrorists with SMAW * ******************************** Go hide in the corner near the flak jacket box. Rockets won't hit you there. The two guards enters and exit the tower as the reload the rocket-launcher. Wait for the to fire once, then move in the clearings and aim. You have a few seconds to shoot before they shoot back. Repeat until both enemies are dead (objective completed). Take note that the option "Zoom Remember" might be truly useful here and will help you gain the few split seconds you need to take the shot. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + Strategy: Against the clock - 3:39 + ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Complete this mission in less than 3:39 and you will get the Shot Defender. The challenge is pratically impossible on Story Mode (with only Stone's AR-15). Try again on Mission mode and select better weapons that can one-shot kill. =============================================================================== iv. Birds of Feather -- Bangkok, Tahiland: Zhou Area Rooftops <S27> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >> How to obtain: Complete the game in Story Mode. << ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives: - Eradicate infected pigeons - Eliminate all Zhou security - Achive insertion point at Tai Hang apartments ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You start off leant against a wall. The two first enemies are just above you. Turn on your infrared goggles to fallow their movements. On of them will stop right above you for a few seconds. As soon as he turns away, leave your position and walk to the edge of the roof. Switch to your EDSU goggles and fallow the wire that comes out of the fan and up to a control panel. Shoot this panel with a silenced weapon, then turn around and go grab the cornice in front of you (on the platforme where are the two gardes). Move to your left and go around the whole platform until you reach a spot where you can land. This is also where there is the bird cage. Look up and you should be able to see the second guard. Make sure you don't get to close to the birds or they'll start making noise that will draw the enemy's attention. Shoot him in the head and crawl under the cage. Climb on the platform and you'll see the remaining guard mesmerised by the fan you stopped earlier (!). Eliminate him. Climb on the catwalk near the big advertising panel and there will be a short cut scene. You must now take down two snipers on the surrounding rooftops. Take out your MB-150 (and your darts) or any other silenced sniper. Use your infrared goggles to locate your targets. The first one is on a roof in front of you and the other is on a building to your right. Climb down on the cage side and fire a few shots on the pigeons until you kill five of them (birds 1 to 5/10). Turn around and climb in the scaffold (use the ladder). Grab the RTL and go to your left. When you reach the end, revolve on yourself and locate the bird behind the neon sign (bird 6/10). Come back to the advertising panel. On the roof behind you is another bird (bird 7/10). Now go in front of the panel and turn on your infrared goggles. A first pigeon is located across the street, at about your height, a little on the right (he is over the apartment that you will have to reach later) (bird 8/10). Another is slightly to your left, on another advertising panel on which you can see a women (bird 9/10). Finally the last one is at 90� on your right, perched on a big red arrow (bird 10/10) (objective completed). //////////////////////////////// / Hidden evidences 1/3 and 2/3 / //////////////////////////////// The first evidence is near where you started the mission. In a corner, there is a small roof on which the evidence is. The second evidence is in a corner behind the advertising panel. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cross over to the other side of the street using the RTL near the advertising panel. After a cut scene, two more Zhou guards will take position on the rooftops. Eliminate them silently (objective completed). Turn the corner and use the RTL to reach the apartment balcony (objective completed). /////////////////////// / Hidden evidence 3/3 / /////////////////////// As you are hung to the last RTL, look at your feet : there is a balcony under you. Drop yourself on it (you'll loose a tiny bit of health). Then grab the edge above you and move to your left until you reach another balcony. The evidence is there. Use the same path to come back and catch the RTL. ||||||||||||||||||| | = Alternative = | ||||||||||||||||||| If you are spotted by one of the enemy at any stage during the mission, all the remaining snipers will immediately take position. Pull back out of the clearing and find a safe spot. Use your infrared goggles and take them all out. But you must make sure it is not destroyed by a lost bullet, meaning your must eliminate the first enemies quickly. Back to main guide ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You will come across a great number of enemies in these corridors. Use what you can to take cover, but beware of some of them who tend to rush at you. You'll find a few boxes with flak jackets or ammunition. You get the first (checkpoint) after the first corner. You must now deal with a powerful enemy armed with a gatling gun. Apart of that he is not really tougher than your average grunt. Just make sure you don't get hit by one of his bullets.
