I'll be honest, I'm not really a huge Star Ocean fan like some people I know (I'm looking at you, Alex.) But I did find Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time to be a nice experience, even if it wasn't one of the greatest RPGs that I've ever played. So I decided to write a guide for it. =================== 2.) Legal Stuff =================== The latest version of this guide will always be posted at GameFAQs first. Basics =================== These are some of the basics of Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time. O-------O | HP/MP | O-------O -Like in all RPGs, HP means Hit Points, and MP means Magic Points. If you run out of HP, your character dies. However, if you run out of MP in this game, your character also dies. Because of this, most skills (let alone for your Symbology) are not MP heavy. Certain enemies target MP, so you'll need to keep an eye on both your HP and MP. O------O | FURY | O------O -Aside from your HP and MP bars in battle, the most bottom bar is your Fury Gauge. You spend 1% Fury whenever you move, and depending on what skills you use, your Fury will go down that certain percentage. If you don't have enough Fury to use a skill, you won't be able to use it. If your Fury is at 100%, and an enemy using a Minor attack, you'll guard against it. If your Fury is 0%, you cannot attack at all. Standing still recharges your Fury in about a second or two. You can also see your enemies Fury meter (except if you're playing on the 4D Difficulty Level), so you'll know when to use Minor and Major attacks. Fury useage can be reduced by certain skills and accessories. O---------------------O | MINOR/MAJOR ATTACKS | O---------------------O -To do a Minor attack, either press X at Short or Long range. To do a Major attack, either press Circle at Short or Long range. You can set four skills to X Short/Long, and Circle Short/Long. Keep in mind that if you use a Major attack or skill on an enemy with a full Fury Gauge, it will shatter their guard, bringing their Fury down to 50%. The same also goes for the enemies if they hit you with a Major attack or skill when your Fury is at 100%. O--------O | STATUS | O--------O -Everytime you level up, you'll get Skill Points to put into one of the following: HP: Hit Points MP: Magic Points Attack: Characters Attacking Abilities Defense: Character Defensive Abilities HP and MP are a given to raise, but Attack and Defense aren't what they seem. They actually effect your party members AI with how they'll attack and defend. Everytime you level one of those four, you'll need more Skill Points to level it again. O------------------O | SKILL CANCELLING | O------------------O -Skill Cancelling is quite unique. Skill Cancelling is when you use an attack and then activate a skill, followed by another skill and so on. It starts off with 100%, and when you cancel, it does the following: 175% more damage 200% more damage 250% more damage 300% more damage It goes no higher than 300%. This is great for bosses. O---------------O | BONUS BATTLES | O---------------O -Sometimes, when you fight a battle, the Gauge on the right side of the battle field will fill up. As you attack enemies, the bar will fill up. Once it reaches the top, you'll get one of the four bonuses: Triple Exp Double Fol Increased Recovery Rate Increased Chance for Item If you're able to keep the bonus gauge active for several more battles, you'll earn more bonuses one by one, which then lets you have all 4 bonuses at once. Your bonus gauge breaks if you're hit with a Critical attack, die, or you run away from a battle. =================== 4.) Walkthrough =================== A couple of things to note before I start. First off, I won't be telling you where the treasure chests are in towns that you come across. Exploring is a part of RPGs, so explore to find the chests. Second, there might be spoilers in this, but I'll try to make it spoiler free as possible, but I'm not making any promises. Choose New Game, and select the options you get as you come across them. This guide is assuming that you're playing on Normal Mode, so if you choose Earth, that's up to you. You just won't be able to get any Battle Trophies. ===================== GRANTIER RESORT HOTEL ===================== (00A) Items Enemies Map Complettion ----- ------- --------------- Rossetti Performance Ticket N/A N/A -The game opens with the introductions of Fayt and Sophia. Watch the scene, and you'll gain control. Take some time to get used to the controls and find out what does what. When you get the hang of the basic functions, go left and take the transporter. Go out the door and go northeast. Head out and head for the central room and go to the right side to find a Battle Simulator. Take Sophia into it and you'll get a chance to Initiate Battle Trophies. This is your only chance to do so, so make sure to do it. If you want to, read the instructions. You'll then be thrown into a battle. Get used to the controls here. Once the enemies are defeated, you'll get two more choices. Stop if you want, or do another battle. If you choose to do another fight, win the battle. After that, a scene will occur. It seems that Hyda IV is under attack. Exit the battle simulator and go south and use any transporter to teleport to an evacuation shelter. You'll bump into Fayts mother and father, who then tell you to run after the soldiers make it to where you are. You'll then be thrown into your first real fight. You shouldn't have too much trouble, and you should have the hang of the basics of the battle system by now. A couple of more scenes unfold, and you have to fight two more battles. After you beat the enemies, you'll be at the Evacuation Facility. =================== EVACUATION FACILITY =================== (00B) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A N/A N/A -Watch the scene, and head for Room 509 to bump into Peppita. After the scene, head to Room 506, which is your room. If you can't find it, go left from Peppita's room. It's the last door in the hall. Sophia will go to sleep. Head over to your bed and go to sleep as well. An announcement will then occur, and you're back in control. Use the save point. Head for the transporter to be transported to the Transport Ship Herle. ==================== TRANSPORT SHIP HERLE ==================== (00C) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A N/A N/A -Go all the way north here and use the save point if you want. Talk with everyone and exit the room. Go down the hall and enter the door that's visible on your map. A scene will occur. After it, leave. Head north and talk with everyone again. Go back to the hallway and talk with everyone here. Now head north and watch the scene. After it, go back to the hallway again and talk with everyone again. Go back to the room where you encountered that grumpy man and go up the stairs. Go south to find the escape pods. Talk with the employees and head back to the stairs, and re-enter the room. Go south and a path should be cleared now. Go through the door and pick any door. Sophia will use the pod. A man will tell you there's one pod left. Fayt will hop in. Watch the following scenes, and the game is about to really begin. ============== PESOTTO FOREST ============== (00D) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A Young Slime 1/144 Scale Bunny Nobleman -This is your first chance to do something called Map Completion. If you can get 100% (actually, you only need 99%) map coverage, you'll be rewarded with a certain Bunny statue, depending on the difficulty of the map. The Bunny Statue you can get here (1/144 Scale Bunny) allows you to move 5% faster in battles. However, you can also sell these for 9000 Fol a pop. Since they don't stack, you can sell any spares you get during the game. In order to get the best chance of completeing a map, you'll need to run along the sides of every area, as well as fill in some little secret paths, so make sure to explore each map carefully. The first thing you'll notice as you run along, are that enemies are visible on the map. There aren't any random encounters, so you can pick your own fights, which can come in handy late into the game. The enemies that reside on this planet, however, are very simple, so you shouldn't have any troubles with them. This forest is pathetically easy to navigate through, so you shouldn't need any real directions. Make sure to run along the edges if you want to complete the map. Once you reach the next screen, just go follow the straight path and you'll eventually trigger a scene. If you ran along the edges and explored each area carefully, you should have higher than a 90% completion rate right now. Anywho, watch the scene, and you'll be in your first town. ============== WHIPPLE ============== (00E) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blackberries N/A N/A Blackberries Blueberries Aquaberries 600 Fol --------- SHOPS --------- General Store "Manybloom" ------------------------- Blueberries -----------> 45 Fol Blackberries ----------> 35 Fol Ring Mail -------------> 180 Fol Clone Generator -------> 350 Fol Fresh Sage ------------> 310 Fol Pomello Juice ---------> 25,000+ Fol -Watch the scene, and leave the house. Explore around the town for chests. The Purple Arrows on your map indicate that an Inn is there. Green Arrows indicate that a shop is there. One of the chests in the arena contains 600 Fol. When you find that, go ahead and buy a Ring Mail. When you do that, go find the Elders House (should be near Niklas' house) and talk with him. Now head back out and head back to the house you started out for a scene. After the scene, you'll have your sword back. Exit the house and go west to go back to the Forest. ============== PESOTTO FOREST ============== (00F) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A Young Slime 1/144 Scale Bunny Nobleman -You still can't complete the map just yet. Backtrack to your ship. Once you reach it, a scene will trigger. Nothing else to do here, so make your way back to Whipple. ============== WHIPPLE ============== (00G) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A N/A N/A -Head for Niklas' house and another scene will trigger. Morning will come. Make sure to prepare yourself, because you're about to head for your first dungeon. When you think you're ready, exit the forst, and take the split path going north when you come to it. This will allow you to reach your first dungeon, as well as complete the Pesotto Forest map. =============== RUINS OF COFFIR =============== (00H) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blackberries x3 Nobleman 1/60 Scale Bunny Blueberries x3 Thieving Scumbag Aquaberries x3 Shrieker Cooking Ingredients x2 Young Shrieker Ripe Berries Makafy Fresh Sage Tepeki 200 Fol Buster -You're not able to complete this map just yet, but make sure you still complete as much of it as possible. Remember to run along edges in every area you come across. From the entrance, go left to find two chests containing BLUEBERRIES. Head to the other side is another chest containing COOKING INGREDIENTS. Northeast is another chest containing BLACKBERRIES. Head north and go left at the split for a chest containing 200 FOL. Make your way back to the first area and go east. Ignore the chest you first see here, as you can't get it yet. Head up the stairs and keep going up to find a couple of pieces of rubble Behind it are two chests containing BLACKBERRIES and AQUABERRIES. Now make your way to the west part of the ruins and defeat the Thieving Scumbags to claim the chest to obtain AQUABERRIES. Go northwest. Head left and go through the arch and then turn right for two chests that contain AQUABERRIES and BLUEBERRIES. Now head north and go left at the fork and open the chest here to obtain some COOKING INGREDIENTS. Head north to reach the next area. Check behind the tree at the end of this area to find a FRESH SAGE. Backtrack to the fork you just took, and go right this time and keep heading east to reach the next area. Follow the paths here and you'll eventually come across a huge house like area. Go left from the door for a chest containing BLACKBERRIES. Head back and take the right side this time. A scene will occur, and you're left to use force. O-------------O O------------O O-------------O | Makafay | | Tepeki | | Buster | O-------------O O------------O O-------------O | HP | MP | | HP | MP | | HP | MP | O-------------O O------------O O-------------O | 300 | 13 | | 200 | 9 | | 250 | 11 | O-------------O O------------O O-------------O -This fight is pretty simple. Treat it like any other 3v1 battle you've had so far. Although, if you happen to have Blazing Sword, use it in order to get a quick MP kill for all 3 of them. After the battle, explore the rest of this area and head in the door. ================ NORTON'S HIDEOUT ================ (00I) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Fresh Sage Nobleman N/A Jewel of Refuge Thieving Scumbag Music Box Parts Skeleton Warrior -Head down the hall here and grab the chest in the next room that contains a JEWEL OF REFUGE. Open the chest on the left side of the room to obtain a FRESH SAGE. Exit the room and head north and take a right at the fork. Watch the scene and make sure to use the save point. Head to the computer and you'll be prompted to enter a password. The answer to the password were those big red letters that you found as you explored the ruins. If you weren't paying attention, that's why I'm here, right? The password is "256". Exit and head back to the fork and take the other path to find Niklas. Soon, a man comes into the room, and then a muscle type man comes into the room. Then the battle begins. O------------------O | Norton | O------------------O | HP | MP | O------------------O | 1600 | 35,800 | O------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -Simple fight, really. Norton's attacks don't do that much damage, and with Cliff on your team, you should be able to win this fight easily. There's really not much to it. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Norton in 30 seconds --------------------------- -This one is pretty simple. Just run in and attack him. He doesn't have a lot of HP, so you should be able to waste him pretty fast. And with Cliff helping you, he'll fall even faster. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Norton Without Taking Damage ----------------------------------- -This one is also simple, though it may be a bit hard to get both of the obtainable ones at the same time. Just sit back and let Cliff take care of Norton for you. Cliff's pretty powerful, but you'll most likely need to heal him. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Norton Using Only Metal Pipe ----------------------------------- -You can't do this one yet. You'll have the chance in the post game. After the fight, watch the scene. Backtrack to the save point and you'll automatically obtain the MUSIC BOX PARTS. Exit the hideout, and make your way back to Whipple. Once in the village, watch the scene. When you're in control, go visit the Elder and he'll give you a MEDECENTRA PYROXENE. If you're planning on using Cliff for the rest of the game, this will come in handy for him, as his later skills eat his HP pretty fast. Exit the town, and head back to your ship and head for the cliff near it for a lengthy scene. Soon, you'll be on another planet. ======================= ROYAL CITY OF AIRYGLPYH ======================= (00J) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A Inquisitor N/A Airyglyph Soldier -Talk with Mirage, then Cliff, then Mirage again, and then Cliff again to continue on with the game. The Inquisitor will then make you his bitch. Soon, Fayt and Cliff get rescued by your new party member, Nel Zelpher. With your killer new boots on, trot down the hall, and you'll bump into your forceful lover. O---------------------O O-----------------------O | Inquisitor | | Airyglyph Solider | O---------------------O O-----------------------O | HP | MP | | HP | MP | O---------------------O O-----------------------O | 1300 | 40 | | 400 | 18 | O---------------------O O-----------------------O -This fight is simple. If you want to waste them quickly, use Blazing Sword with Fayt and MP kill them. Now that you've seen Nels sexiness in battle, it's time to make your escape. =================== AIRYGLYPH AQUEDUCTS =================== (00K) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blueberries x2 Slime 1/60 Scale Bunny Fresh Sage Bogle Leader Worm-Eaten Tome Bogle Soldier Warrior's Bracelet Toad Beast Ring Mail Skeleton Soldier Water Reaper -It's not yet possible to complete this map, but still, complete as much of it as you can. Right in front of you when you start is a healing pad, and save point. Once ready, go right and then head down and grab the chest on the right to obtain a WORM-EATEN TOME. Exit south and head for the southwest portion of this room. Climb down the ladder and head down the path behind the waterfall to find two chests containing a RING MAIL and BLUEBERRIES. Head back up the ladder and go south again. Grab the chest here containing a WARRIOR'S BRACELET. Head back up and go right to find the next area. Head north to find a chest containing a FRESH SAGE. Backtrack to the large room and head for the northeast exit to reach the next area. Head to the northwest exit and you'll trigger a scene about the thin ice. You can run down safely if you hug the wall. Enter the room before the second ice slide to find a chest containing BLUEBERRIES. Head back and slide down the second ice slide. Head for the save point and save your game. Enter the room, and you'll find your not so average beach crab. O------------------O | Giant Crab | O------------------O | HP | MP | O------------------O | 3500 | 80 | O------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -Like with Norton, this guy is a pushover, even though he'll take a bit longer to kill. His attacks are predictable, so dodging shouldn't be an issue. If you want a quick kill, have him using a Minor attack against you when your Fury Gauge is full. With him stunned, you can pull off two Major attacks while Cliff and Nel pummel him. All and all, it's a simple fight. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Giant Crab Within 1 minute --------------------------------- -If you have Blazing Sword for Fayt, use it for a quick MP kill, and there you go. You get the trophy without that much of a hassle. If you don't have Blazing Sword, you'll need to learn his attacks and take him out quickly by using Skill Cancelling. Use Aerial if you don't have Blazing Sword, as that also does MP damage. Either way, go for the MP kill. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Giant Crab Without Taking Damage --------------------------------------- -This one is much more simple than the other Battle Trophy. His attacks are easily predictable, so you can help out with Nel and Cliff, but make sure to hang back from time to time if you're not that confident. You have plenty of time to dodge his Major attack, so you shouldn't have too much trouble with this trophy. After the fight, save your game if you want. When you approach the thin ice, make sure to hold the Circle button so you don't slip and crack your head wide open. Okay, so you won't crack your head open. You'll just start at the beginning of the area you're in. Head for the exit and watch the scene. ============== ROYAL CITY OF AIRYGLYPH ============== (00L) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blueberries x3 N/A N/A Blackberries x3 Ripe Berries x3 Perfect Berries x2 Cooking Ingredients x2 Aquaberries 2000 Fol Compounding Elixirs --------- SHOPS --------- Grocer "Dragon Tresure" Outfitter "Dragon's Dungeon" ----------------------- ---------------------------- Blueberries -------> 45 Fol Compunding Elixirs --------> 120 Fol Aquaberries -------> 15 Fol Cooking Ingredients -------> 120 Fol Blackberries ------> 35 Fol Silver Ring ---------------> 1750 Fol Gooseberry Juice -> 3100 Fol Clone Generator -----------> 350 Fol Steamed Bun -------> 200 Fol Fresh Sage ----------------> 310 Fol Sage ----------------------> 20 Fol Basil ---------------------> 20 Fol Lavender ------------------> 20 Fol High-Quality Armorer "Tiamat" Armorer "Left-Handed Lizard" ----------------------------- ---------------------------- Holy Sword ---------> 19,600 Fol Masterwork Plate ----------> 24,000 Fol Osprey Dagger ------> 15,100 Fol Superior Chain Mail -------> 26,800 Fol Broad Axe ----------> 15,800 Fol Nodachi ------------> 24,000 Fol Damask Gauntlet ----> 44,000 Fol -The first thing you'll notice is that you most likely can't afford any of this equipment. Don't fret, though, as you'll be able to get them later in the game when the time comes. Make sure to collect the treasures in town, and check all houses to find any possible chests. Once you obtain all the treasure chests, make your way to the east exit. Head down the path here and you'll bump into one of Nel's partners. Watch the following scenes, and you'll be in control again. ============== TRAUM MOUNTAINS ============== (00M) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blueberries Bogle Leader 1/144 Scale Bunny Blackberries Bogle Soldier Ripe Berries Killer Wasp Jewel of Alertness Ochre Jelly 400 Fol Dragon Brigade Soldier -One thing to note, that if you're going to go for the Map Completion, you'll need to head back in the direction that leads to Airyglyph. Dragon Brigade Soldiers reside there, and they are very capable of wiping out your party, so be cautious. From where you start, head along the mountain and grab the chest across the crevasse to obtain a JEWEL OF ALERTNESS. Continue up the mountain and rotate your camera once you reach an Ochre Jelly (it's shiny, isn't it?) to find a chest containing RIPE BERRIES. Head past the Ochre Jelly and turn west and look behind the rock for a chest containing 400 FOL. Keep going west to find a chest containing BLUEBERRIES. Continue west by a Bogle enemy is a chest around some trees containing some BLACKBERRIES. Continue west if you wish to complete the map. If not, head all the way east to reach the exit, and to trigger a couple of scenes. ===================== MINING TOWN OF KIRLSA ===================== (00N) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blueberries x2 N/A N/A Perfect Berries x2 Blackberries Ripe Berries Compounding Elixirs 520 Fol 1400 Fol SHOPS ----- Grocer "Iron Curtain" Armorer "Master Slayer" --------------------- ----------------------- Blueberries ------> 45 Fol Longsword ------> 50 Fol Aquaberries ------> 15 Fol Falchion -------> 45 Fol Blackberries -----> 35 Fol Gauntlet -------> 55 Fol Steamed Bun ------> 200 Fol Ring Mail ------> 180 Fol Gooseberry Juice -> 3100 Fol Scale Armor ----> 200 Fol Outfitter "Iron Rage" --------------------- Silver Ring ------> 1750 Fol Clone Generator --> 350 Fol Basil ------------> 20 Fol Sage -------------> 20 Fol Lavender ---------> 20 Fol -Explore around the town and grab any treasures you come across. Make sure to upgrade your equipment. Head for the southwestern part of the town and talk to the old man you find. Now head for the northern part of town to find the graveyard. You'll encounter a scene with Nel, and you'll be back at the Inn. Save your game and press R2 to bring up the entire map and head north to find a yellow triangle. Head for there and grab the chest on the next screen containing COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS. Now head into the Mines. ============== KIRLSA CAVERNS ============== (00O) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blackberries x2 Cave Spider 1/60 Scane Bunny Aquaberries Giant Bat Ripe Berries Huge Spider Fresh Sage Tarantula Scale Armor Dire Tarantula Falchion Hornet Charm of Insight Skeleton Knight Earth Pixie Water Reaper 5000 Fol -You're not able to complete this map yet. Once you enter, go north and take the west exit. Go north to reach the next room and then keep going north and then head west at the top of the room to find a chest containing BLACKBERRIES. Backtrack to the entrance of the caverns and take the east exit this time. Follow the path and run along the tracks and head south and go all the way south to find a chest containing some SCALE ARMOR. Head back to the tracks and follow them until you reach a heal pad and save point. Use them both and go through the door to trigger a scene. O---------------------O | Earth Smasher | O---------------------O | HP | MP | O---------------------O | 3600 | 163 | O---------------------O -There aren't any battle trophies for this guy, so don't worry about screwing anything up. He's generally slow, and his attacks are easy to dodge. If you hear the words Earth Glaive come out of his mouth, quickly run anywhere but in front of him, and then start hacking at him. You can probably end this quickly by using Blazing Sword and whack his MP down. After he's gone, head down the path and flip the switch you come across. Go through the door on the west side and make your way back to the room with the heal pad and save point. Go use both of them, and backtrack to the several switches you see. You'll get an option of reading the Hauler Manual or not. There are 5 types of Haulers: Steady, Carefree, Whimsical, Ill-Natured, and Aggressive. Steady can net you almost all of the chests here, as well as get you to the exit. In order to reach the EARTH PIXIE at the southwest corner, you'll need the Whimsical Hauler. Other than that, use the Steady Hauler for all the treasures. If you want to get the treasures, that's up to you. Just make sure to drop below 15 km/h in order to stop completely. In order to make a successful turn, your speed must be below 25 km/h, so stay in the 20-24 range if you're not item hunting. In order to reach the exit, hop onto the Steady Hauler and go left at the first turn. Go right at the next turn and then take a left. From the start, head left for a chest containing COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS. Head into the next area by going left and head down at the fork. Head to the right to find a chest containing AQUABERRIES. Directly left from the chest is another chest containing BLACKBERRIES. Head back to the fork go north and then take the first right to find a chest containing more COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS. Head north from this chest and then check to the right for another chest containing more BLACKBERRIES. Backtrack out of this area and go left this time. Continue west to reach the next area, and then go south to find a Fairy lying on the ground. I don't think she likes Cliff. You'll need to fetch the Fairy some spring water, but there are three types of spring water in the forest: Glittering, Boiling, and Gushing. The kind of water you'll want is Glittering. The springs tend to change, so find a spring that says it's Glittering. Once you find that spring, get some of it and take it back to the Fairy. In return, the Fairy will now help you point out which trees are monsters. This may not seem like a big reward, but without the Fairys help, you can't get to the end of this dungeon. Head up and go left until you find a dark colored tree. Run up to it and the Fairy will say that it's a monster. You'll be forced to fight a Grapebind. These are more like Minibosses if anything, and shouldn't pose as a threat. To get rid of them quickly, use Blazing Sword with Fayt since they're weak to fire, and MP kill them. Shouldn't take too long. After the fight, go left and head south to reach the next area. From here, go left and then south to find another Grapebind. Get rid of it and go south for a chest containing more COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS. Exit this area and look around the rocks for a chest containing some BLUEBERRIES. Head north and head west at the intersection, and keep going west to reach the next area. In this area, ignore the chests as you can't get them yet, and head north until you bump into another Grapebind. Head north to reach the next area. Now is where the fun really begins. From time to time, you'll run into areas in which boulders will fall from cliffs. You won't take damage if you hit one. You'll only be sent back to the beginning of the area in which you entered it from. Wait for the boulders to stop momentarily, and quickly rush at the chest to obtain some PERFECT BERRIES. Head around the corner to reach the next area. You'll run into more falling boulders. Head north and head for the right side of the map to find two chests containing BLUEBERRIES and BLACKBERRIES. Take the north exit to find two more chests containing the ORB OF ALERTNESS, and a WIND PIXIE. Head back down and take the south exit. Head south to find another Grapebind. Defeat it and head for the next area. Go south again to find some more falling boulders. Grab the chest on the west side for a LIMITED EDITION DOLL, which is used to recruit an Inventor. Once you get it, head south to find another Grapebind. Once it's defeated, go west. Take the west exit here to trigger a scene featuring your new party member (up to you, really), Roger. Turns out he's really a little brat. You'll then have to fight two Moonshadow Clan Members. It's like any normal fight, so it's not hard at all. After the fight, you get a choice of letting Roger tag along with you or not. Go ahead and let him. Just leave him out of your main party since he's pretty weak. Explore the map outside of the cabin, and head back down to the exit to trigger another scene (assuming you took Roger). After the scene, it's time for a fight. O----------------------------O | Moonshadow Clan Chief | O----------------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------------O | 5500 | 250 | O----------------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -This really shouldn't be classified as a boss fight, but for some reason, it is. His attacks are weak and easily predictable, so just using Blazing Sword with Fayt or Shadow Wave with Nel to get rid of him quickly. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Moonshadow Clan Chief In 1 Minute ---------------------------------------- -This one is very easy to get, as his MP is pretty pathetic. This is your cue to use either Blazing Sword with Fayt, or Shadow Wave with Nel. Either way, he'll fall pretty fast. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Moonshadow Clan Chief Without Taking Damage -------------------------------------------------- -Again, this is pretty simple. His attacks are easily avoided, so just rush in with Blazing Sword on Fayt and deplete his MP. With that joker out of the way (seriously, what was up with that being so easy?), it's time to continue on. Watch the following scene and you'll automatically get the GOLD FIGURE. Take the other exit on this map. You'll run into some more falling boulders. Dodge the rocks as you make your way north to the exit. Head north here to reach the next area. Head north and then right to find some more of the boulder tossing enemies. Head left and go north at the interseciton and stop once you reach the end. Boulders will start falling again. Make your way down to find some chests containing AQUABERRIES, ALCHEMY MATERIALS, CRAFTING MATERIALS, and 12000 FOL. Go back to the intersection and head west. Head along the path and once the screen starts shaking, backtrack but don't exit the area. Wait until the boulders fill all the holes on the ground, and then make your way down. Go left and then head south. Keep going south and then take a right. Open the chest to obtain a WATER SHIELDING. Head back to the previous area and follow the path until you reach a save point. Use it and head into the next area. You'll be in foggy like area. Ignore the first north exit you stumble across and take the second one. Watch the scene for another fight. His attacks are slow and easy to dodge. Just Skill Cancel him with your best skills and you shouldn't have too much trouble. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Mudman Within 1 Minute ----------------------------- -This one is pretty simple. Turn on Berserk with Fayt, and equip Sidekick on both his short Minor and Major attacks. Use the Major Sidekick first, and follow it up by Skill Cancelling until your Fury runs out. With Berserk on, you'll be able to use more Sidekicks than you could with Berserk off. You should be able to take him down quickly this way. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Mudman Without Taking Damage ----------------------------------- -You can be cheap here, and stay back with Fayt and just use Lightning Blast on him. Cliff and Nel should be able to handle him without assistance, so just sit back and use Lightning Blast or you can just hang back and take it easy. It's up to you. After the fight, the fog will disappear, and you can explore the rest of the forest without a hassle. Heal up if needed and head south back to the main part of the forest. Time to search for Ameena. Head southeast and head for the end of the path to find some HEAVY ARMOR. Go back to the entrance of the Mudman fight, and head west and keep going west and you'll find Ameena. Watch the scenes, and you'll automatically be taken to Peterny. Watch the following scene, and exit Ameena's room to trigger another scene. Make sure to get some Basils if you don't have enough already. Exit Aquios. Our next destination is Arias. You're gonna need to by foot. Once you reach the town, go to the northwest exit to find Tynave, Farleen, and Clair. You'll then be off to the Bequerel Mines. Head up from the entrance to trigger a scene, which involves lighting torches. Walk up to any unlit torches and press X in order to light them up. Same goes with putting out the flames. Follow the path lighting all the torches along the way until you reach an intersection. Go north and light the torch near the gate to lower it and do battle with a Brass Dragon. It's a simple battle, but they can Paralyze you with their Breath Attack, so watch out. Once it's done for, you'll acquire the LIGHTSTONE. It must be equipped on Fayt in order to light your way. Head up and then west. You'll then need to fight 3 Brass Dragons in a row. Shouldn't be too difficult. Once they're done for, continue to the west and then head south and then west again. In this room, light the two torches and stand between them. If you can't get anything to activate, try standing a bit to the left or right. Eventually you'll get it, and a gate will open. Once the gate opens, head west and north to reach it. Enter the room at the end of this area and head left until your each an intersection. Go left at it and open the chest to obtain COOKING INGREDIENTS. Now head south a bit and then go east until you find a chest. Open it to obtain 15000 FOL. Chase the Brass Dragon around until you corner it. Defeat it to get the KEY TO BARRED DOOR. Once you get it, head back to the west and go north at the intersection to find a chest containing BLACKBERRIES. Backtrack to the gate and open it with your newly acquired key. You'll need to do a little thinking to exit this room. If you head to the end of this room, the door will close on you. In order to prevent this, unlight the torch in this room and unequip your Lightstone. Then walk north and head through the door. Re-equip your Lightstone and head northwest and head to the door at the north and go through it. The door will then close behind you. This room is pretty frustrating if you have no idea on how to solve it. Head for the center of the room and step on the huge circle. The entire room will light up. We want to go through the north door, so head to the west and south portions of the room and turn off the light orbs. Unequip your Lightstone and head through the north door. Re-equip your Lightstone, head up and then east at the intersection. Head down the path to reach the next area. Head up and explore the right side of the room to find two chests containing AQUABERRIES and an AMULET OF FREEDOM. Backtrack to the intersection, and go north into the next area. O----------------O | Cockatrice | O----------------O | HP | MP | O----------------O | 15,500 | 431 | O----------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -Ah yes. The Cockatrice. One of the RPGs oldest enemies. And just like his ancestors, he's able to petrify you, so don't hang around him for too long. Use Blazing Sword with Fayt and start hacking at him to chip away at his MP fast. His attacks aren't strong, but he's pretty agile, so he'll probably get some hits in. If anyone gets petrified, use a Sage. All in all, not a tough fight, but it's not extremely easy either. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Cockatrice Within 1 Minute --------------------------------- -Five words will help you accomplish this trophy: Blazing Sword and Shadow Wave. Use Blazing Sword with Fayt and start using your minor attacks on him. Doubled with Nel's Shadow Wave, this fight will be over in a flash. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Cockatrice Without Taking Damage --------------------------------------- -This one is a bit trickier. The Cockatrice is pretty agile, meaning it can be a pain to dodge his attacks. And the fact that he can Petrify your party is another thing that makes him dangerous. You can hang back, but you can't depend on Cliff and Nel on this fight, as they'll most likely get Petrified, but it's a lot safer than running in and helping Nel MP kill it. It's up to you, but it might be safe to just sit back and play it safe. After the fight, north to trigger a scene. You'll obtain the COPPER ORE after the scene is over. Head to the west to exit this area and use the save point. Follow the path here and head through the exit and keep following the path and you'll be outside. Head west and follow the ledge to find a bridge and a chest. Open the chest to obtain COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS. Head across the bridge and turn west to find another chest containing 23600 FOL. There's also a chest containing BLACKBERRIES here. Head a bit south and check around the ruins to find a chest containing RIPE BERRIES. Head down and right to find a building. Enter it. From the entrance, head west to find a chest containing more COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS. Go up to the stairs and left and follow the path to find a chest containing SYNTHESIS MATERIALS. Check the east side of the door you came in to find a chest containing a WORM-EATEN TOME. Now exit the building to the west and grab the chest out here to obtain some MAGICAL BERRIES. Talk to the Runologist standing by the Solider and Mine Cart to heal up. Backtrack and save your game. Head back to the building and talk to the soldier to get a ride back to the entrance. Once you reach the entrance, a scene will trigger. (I know I've heard Demetrio's voice before, but I can't just remember where.) You'll fight an easy battle with four Airyglyph Soldiers. Using Ariel or Sidekick with Fayt would be your best bet to get him to the ground. Taking out the Legion Dragons first would be a great help in the long run. His attacks are also pretty nasty if he hits you multiple times, so make sure to stay on your toes with healing. You're not quite done on the mountains yet. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Demetrio Within 1 Minute ------------------------------- -This one can pose as a problem. Since Demetrio is riding an Air Dragon, hitting him can be annoying. Your best bet would to be spam Sidekick with Fayt, as you'll most likely hit him with it. Still, that HP is still a lot to deplete in under a minute, so be quick with your attacks. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Demetrio Without Taking Damage ------------------------------------- -The main threat for this Trophy is the Major attack of Demetrio, which has his dragon spewing flames all over the place. Stay away from him as he winds up his Major attack and if you want, you can just lay back and use Healing with either Fayt or Nel to make sure you don't lose. After the battle, if you wish, head back to the Mines to heal and save your game. When ready, make your way in the direction to Arias. Before you can reach your destination, you're met by a familiar face. O---------------O O--------------------------O | Albel | | Black Brigade Solider | O---------------O O--------------------------O | HP | MP | | HP | MP | O---------------O O--------------------------O | 26,000 | 2600 | | 4220 | 192 | O---------------O O--------------------------O -Albel is easily the strongest and hardest boss you've faced. Take out the Soldiers first to decrease the difficulty of the battle. Albel is very agile and very strong, so make sure to side step effeciently and attack him whenever he pauses momentarily. Time your Skill Cancelling carefully, as Albel can easily catch you off guard. He hits hard, he hits fast, and he doesn't hold back, so don't be afraid to use any Ripe Berries if everyone is starting to get low on health Now that Albel is out of the way, make your way to Aquios. Once you reach Aquios, a scene will trigger and you'll wind up at the inn. Save your game and head for the castle and go to the Runological Research Room to find Dion. After the scene, head to the Inn and take him to where Ameena is. If you wish, you can recruit Adray into your party now. If you want to do so, head to the throne room and talk with the Queen. Adray will then join your party. If you don't recruit him, you'll have a chance to get him later on. Once you're done here, it's time to head to Arias. Watch the scene and restock on items if you need to. When you think you have everything, head for the mansion and head for the conference room to trigger a scene. After the scene, head into the room you stayed at and rest up. Save your game once morning comes, and head back down to talk with Clair and tell her you're ready. ============== AIRE HILLS ============== (01C) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A N/A N/A -Follow the dirt road and you'll eventually run into Vox. O--------------------O | Vox | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 30,000 | 20,000 | O--------------------O -Vox is actually pretty simple. Just like Demetrio, he's riding an Air Dragon, so Skill Cancelling Sidekick or Ariel will work wonders with Fayt. I don't know if I was overleveled or not, but Vox really didn't hurt me to the brink that I needed to heal, so you shouldn't have too much trouble. After the fight, a purdy looking cutscene occurs. Once it's all over, follow the dirt path to find Dion and everyone else. Another purdy cutscene occurs, and you'll be back at Aquios. ===================== SACRED CITY OF AQUIOS ===================== (01D) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Disintegration Hammer N/A N/A -After the scene, head to the first floor and examine the most lower right door on the west wing. Watch the scene and head for the inn to get Ameena. Head back to Dions room to watch a depressing scene. Some more cutscenes occur, and then you'll meet your new party member, Maria Traydor. Watch the following long scenes. After the scenes, head to the throne room to talk with the queen. Then head for the chapel and head for the center of it to trigger another scene (sheesh). After that, talk to the woman above the stairs to obtain the DISINTEGRATION HAMMER. Head down the stairs and run down the long hallway. This is where I switched Cliff out, and had my party of Fayt, Maria, and Nel, but you can make your party however you want. ============== SEALED CAVERN ============== (01E) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blueberries Flying Armor 1/60 Scale Bunny Blackberries Bronze Brute Cooking Ingredients Mage Earth Shielding Lunar Talisman Anointed Chain Mail -This is an easy map to complete, so make sure to complete it. Head straight north through the door and north again through a hole in the wall. The enemy in here, the Bronze Brute, is excellent for experience if you're lacking in levels. Espeically if you have Triple Experience. He also drops Regeneration Symbols, so if you're using Maria like I am, it would be a wise idea to fight him over and over again until you obtain two Regeneration Symbols for her, and two more if you don't have any for Nel. Open the chests in this room to obtain BLUEBERRIES and COOKING INGREDIENTS. Examine the statue in the top left corner of the room and activate it. Backtrack to the entrance and then take the right door. Head through this room. Wait for the block to be completely into the ground and run ontop of it. Keep running across the blocks until you reach the end and then head on through the door. Head into the left passage and make your way past the blocks to find a chest containing an EARTH SHIELDING. Backtrack to the previous room and head north once the blocks are at a high level. Examine the right wall and use a Disintegration Hammer on it to reveal a passage. Go through it and grab the chests in here to obtain BLACKBERRIES, and an ANOINTED CHAIN MAIL. Head down the stairs and flip the switch to open a little shortcut to the entrance of the cavern. Run back up the stairs and into the previous room. Head northwest and go through the door here. Make your way through the blocks and head through the door at the end. Head into the next area and examine the south wall until you find some cracks. Use a hammer on it and go through and flip the switch on the statue. Head back and go through the right door. Open the chest in here to obtain a LUNAR TALISMAN. Now make your way back to where the Bronze Brute by the blocks were, and head underneath the blocks into the next room to find your next foe. O-----------------------O | Flying Knight | O-----------------------O | HP | MP | O-----------------------O | 17,000 | 240 | O-----------------------O -This boss is way too easy. Simply use Ice Blade with Fayt and hack at his MP and he'll fall in no time. After that fight, head up the stairs to enter the Shrine of Kaddan. ================ SHRINE OF KADDAN ================ (01F) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blackberries x4 Bronze Brute 1/1 Scale Bunny Blueberries x2 Crystal Statue Aquaberries Flying Knight Compounding Elixirs x3 L15 Mage Cooking Ingredients x3 Flying Armor Alchemy Materuals x2 Ghostly Hag Synthesis Materials x2 Dark Rider Smithery Materials Stalker Orb of Foe Finding Unholy Terror Celestial Pixie Vendeeni Soldier Shabby Textbook Book of Prophecies 1 Saint's Stone x3 Saint's Amulet Anti-Stone Amulet Hammer Charm Heavy Armor 54000 Fol -It's possible to complete this map in one runthrough, as I've done it. You need to cover every corner in this dungeon. Start off by heading north and you'll already fight a battle. This is one of the few Crystal Statues that you'll be fighting, so make sure you can handle it. For an easy kill, use Ice Blade with Fayt and MP kill it. You should be able to do a decent amount of MP damage. Just watch out for his attacks, as they're pretty strong. After defeating it, you'll obtain a SAINT'S STONE. Go north again until you trigger a scene. Head east and follow the path in this room until you bump into another Crystal Statue. Again, use Ice Blade to MP kill it quickly. You'll get another SAINT'S STONE after defeating it. Head south and head for the east exit. Run around the room and an earthquake will occur, so head back to the entrance to make sure nothing falls on your head. Examine the walls in this room until you find a cracked one. Use a hammer on it and head on in. Open the chests to obtain a SAINT'S STONE and COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS. Use the heater to make a SAINT'S AMULET, which will come into play shortly. Now backtrack to where you fought the first Crystal Statue and examine the east wall and use a hammer on the cracked wall. Go inside and open the chests to obtain two SYNTHESIS MATERIALS. Now make your way back to where you found the second Crystal Statue and check the north wall for some more cracks. Use a hammer and head inside. Open all the chests to obtain BLACKBERRIES, HEAVY ARMOR, COOKING INGREDIENTS, COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS, and a SHABBY TEXTBOOK. Head back to the large room and go east to find a save point. Go south from it to find another cracked wall. Use another hammer and grab the two chests in here to obtain a HAMMER CHARM, and a BOOK OF PROPHECIES 1. Make your way back to the save point, and make sure to save your game. Head on through the door to trigger another fight. O--------------------------O | Crystal Cerberus | O--------------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------------O | 30,000 | 3500 | O--------------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -This is exactly like a Crystal Statue, only tougher and faster. Unlike the Crystal Statues, you won't be able to use Ice Blade, since he's immune to practically every element. He runs around all over the place, and his attacks hurt. It's very hard to corner him, so Skill Cancel his ass with Sidekick or any other quick skills (Charge comes to mind) to damage him before he runs around again. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Crystal Cerberus Within 1 Minute --------------------------------------- -This one is going to frustrate you to hell and back. The Crystal Cerberus runs around all over the place and only remains stationary for about 2 seconds after he attacks. Hopefully he'll run into a corner. If he does, spam Sidekick on him. Blazing Sword, Ice Blade, or anything elemental will not work in this fight since the Crystal Cerberus is immune to all of them. This trophy is really more about luck than skill. I suggest getting the other trophy, and then loading up your game and trying again until you get it. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeating Crystal Cerberus Without Taking Damage ------------------------------------------------ -This one can also be a bit challenging to get, but it's nowhere as tough as the previous trophy. The Crystal Cerberus tends to just run in a straight line at it's victim, so you'll know when to dodge. However, his agility will pose as a problem, so try not to stay close to him for the entire battle. Keep moving around away from your party members so you don't get hit on accident. Just keep an eye on his attacks and you should be able to get this hopefully. If you wish to get both battle trophies, make sure not to save your game just yet. If you're satisfied, however, go save your game. Head north and follow the corridor up to find the next area. Head north through here and then west and follow the path to reach the next door. Head north again. Open the chests in here to obtain AQUABERRIES, BLACKBERRIES, BLUEBERRIES, and COOKING INGREDIENTS. Examine the big green chest in the center to cause another Earthquake. Examine the east wall and break the wall down and exit. Be careful of the swinging rocks. Head for the east portion of the room to find a chest containing the ORB OF FORE FINDING. Head back to the previous room and go south and east and examine the east wall for another crack. Destroy the wall and enter. Ignore the chest in here and head for the next room. Follow the path to the north and head up the stairs and go through the door. Grab the two chests in this room on the east and west walls to obtain BLACKBERRIES and ALCHEMY MATERIALS. Head north and you'll eventually bump into another Crystal Statue. Use Ice Blade to MP kill it. Head through the door. This is an interesting room. All 4 doors are locked here. To unlock them, examine the statue in the center, and you'll need to split up in order to tackle all the rooms. Here's how I did my set up: Maria ----- Short X: Nothing Long X: Scatter Beam Short O: Nothing Long O: Aiming Device Support: Common Attack Symbols Support: Nothing Nel --- Short X: Poison Cloud Long X: Nothing Short O: Flying Guillotine Long O: Nothing Support: First Aid Support: Nothing Fayt ---- Short X: Sidekick Long X: Blazing Sword Short O: Sidekick Long O: Ice Blade Support: Common Healing Symbols Support: First Aid Cliff ----- Short X: Hammer of Might Long X: Nothing Short O: Electric Fists Long O: Nothing Support: Nothing Support: First Aid Now stick Maria in the most left room, Nel in the second room, Fayt in the third room, and Cliff in the fourth room. With those set ups, you shouldn't have too much trouble, though it might be better to use Ice Needles with Maria. Have Nel spam Flying Guillotine when she gets an opening and spam Circle Long. Use Sidekick with Fayt, and use Electric Fists with Cliff. Shouldn't be too hard. After defeating all the rooms, head on through the door in front of you and open the chest here to obtain an ANTI-STONE AMULET. Head on through the door to reach the next area. Check the upper right corner for a chest containing BLACKBERRIES. Head southeast and head through the door to the south. Head east to reach the the next area. Head north and then take a right at the fork for a chest containing BLUEBERRIES. Head back to the fork and go north and then go left to find a chest containing COOKING INGREDIENTS. Head east and then north and go through the door. Examine the Red Gem and touch it to activate it. Exit the room now. Head west along the north wall and go through the door at the center. You'll then be treated to moving blocks. Touch one, and you need to start over. This room is all about timing, so be patient and wait until you get an opening for the next door at the north. Go through it. You'll be in another puzzle room, but this one has chests in it. From the door, head north, right, down, and left to find a chest containing 54000 FOL. Head to the right to find another chest containing a CELESTIAL PIXIE. Now make your way to the northern part of the room to reach the door. Open the chests in this room to obtain two COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS, SMITHERY MATERIALS, and ALCHEMY MATERIALS. Enter the door and use the save point. Approach the door to trigger a scene, and you're left to go through the door manually. Do so to trigger a fight. These Vendeeni Soldiers aren't that tough, but they have the ability to Petrify you, so make sure to scan at your character portraits from time to time to make sure no one turned to stone. After the scene, you're left to exit the Shrine of Kaddan on foot. But the enemies have disappeared. Make your way to the Audience Chamber to trigger a scene. Nel and Cliff will be sent as messengers, while Mirage will help with the Thunder Arrow, which leaves only Fayt and Maria. You better go to the bathroom if you need to, because some long scenes are coming up. During Maria's Flashback, talk to everyone on the ship and then Jessie twice. Watch the following scene and you'll have control of Maria again. Talk with everyone again and then talk to Jessie. Some more, long scenes occur, explaining how Maria found out about her power. Soon, you'll be requested back to the Audience Chamber. Head for it and watch the scene. Our next destination is for Surferio. Make your way to it, and you'll be stopped by someone who doesn't agree with the King's actions. O-------------------O | Schweimer | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 16,800 | 1400 | O-------------------O -Not a tough fight. His attacks are pathetic, and his HP is just as pathetic, so you should have no troubles with this guy. Examine the Statue and choose Thief to unlock the door. Go through it and watch the scene. After the scene, make your way to Peterny on foot. Make sure to gather any chests in the Dunes that you may have missed. Once you reach Peterny, watch the scene, and you're left to travel all the way to Airyglyph on foot. Do so. You should be able to purchase the equipment in Airyglyph now, so go ahead and upgrade as needed. Head for the castle on the west side of town. Once you enter, explore the castle for items, and then head to where Woltar is and he'll lead you to Albel. Watch the following scenes, Albel will join your party, and then you'll have a choice to make. You can now choose who will be your seventh party member. -If you want Roger as your seventh character, head to Surferio and enter the house across the shop and participate in the event. -If you want Albel, head for Peterny and spend the night at the inn. A scene with Albel will trigger, and you're left with a choice. Choose "Not really". -If you want Nel, don't get Roger or Albel as your seventh character, and Nel will join automatically. You'll get a chance to recruit either character as your eighth character in the second disc. However, if you'd rather recruit Peppita, then you won't be able to choose a second character out of those three, so make sure you choose who you want if you're going for Peppita. O--------------------O | Robin Wind | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 50,000 | 1800 | O--------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -Robin Wind is a difficult boss, because he's both agile, and despite his appearance, he's very strong. His attacks can, and will rip through your HP and MP in a matter of seconds, and he runs all over the place, making it hard to Skill Cancel him. Use quick skills like Charge or Ariel to do some damage on him and keep a constant eye on your health. Consider going for an MP kill, since his HP is pretty high up there. Keep your distance from him from time to time, and heal anyone that needs it. You'll win eventually. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Robin Wind Within 1 Minute --------------------------------- -Just like the Crystal Cerberus, Robin Wind is very agile and he hardly stays in one place, so you may find yourself trying to get this trophy over and over again. Try not to use skills that take seconds to build up. Skills like Blade of Fury are a no go in this fight. Use quick skills like Charge, or Ariel. Consider going for the MP kill, though, in which your elemental swords come in handy (except for Lightning Blade). -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Robin Wind Without Taking Damage --------------------------------------- -This one is also very frustrating. You can't sit this one out either, as Robin Wind has a tendency to use Thunder Flare on you. His attacks also scatter in a wide area, so make sure to steer clear of those. This one is just as hard as the first one. If you can get a quick MP kill, it'll make it a bit easier, but just avoid him as best as you can but don't sit back for the entire fight. O-----------------O | Crosell | O-----------------O | HP | MP | O-----------------O | 29,000 | 4200 | O-----------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -Don't get distracted by the awesome music. Crosell is pretty tough, so make sure to have a healthy amount of Blueberries, Blackberries, and whatever else on hand. His HP isn't too high, so you should be able to take him down quickly. His attacks, however, can be pretty damaging, so make sure he gets no openings to hit you whatsoever. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Crosell Within 1 Minute ------------------------------ -This one is pretty simple to do. Simply just put Berserk on for Fayt, and spam Sidekick on him. With the help from your party, he'll fall faster than you realize. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Crosell Without Taking Damage ------------------------------------ -This one is a bit trickier. Crosell will fall pretty fast if you spam Sidekick on him, but there's a good chance he may get a quick hit in. If that happens, simply reload your game and try again. Not too much to say about it, really. Ding Ding. Round 2, begin. O-----------------O | Crosell | O-----------------O | HP | MP | O-----------------O | 62,000 | 6000 | O-----------------O -Crosell is serious this time. His attacks somehow got stronger, so you'll need to be ready with your healing items. It's harder to Skill Cancel him now since he can hit you with no problem. However, the biggest threat he has is his ability to rip at your MP fast and hard, so you'll need to keep an eye on people like Cliff, Albel, and Roger. Attack whenever you get an opening, and constantly keep an eye on your health. Crosell may be slow, but he makes up for it in strength. After the fight, watch the scenes and you'll be bact at Aquaria. You now need to find your party members. -Nel is above the guest room in the castle. -Maria is at the Chapel. -Cliff is on the first floor, lingering on the southern corridor. -Albel is in the main road outside the castle. -Mirage is in the guest room. -Adray (if you got him) is on the bottom floor near Nel. -Roger is in the Grocer's store. After talking to everyone, make your way back to the balcony. To get there, head to the Audience Chamber, and go up the stairs and out through either the east or west door. Once you go out, you'll be treated to a pretty long scene. After it, you'll be on the Diplo. ============== FLAGSHIP DIPLO ============== (01M) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A N/A N/A -Only Maria and Cliff are in your party now, so properly equip each of them if you haven't used them. O-------------------O | Biwig | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 26,000 | 13,816 | O-------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -Biwig is just like a Vendeeni Soldier, only he has a bit more HP. Biwig is pretty weak in general, but watch out, as he can enhance his weapon. But other than that, you should have no problems whatsoever. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Biwig Within 1 Minute ---------------------------- -This one is pretty simple to get. Just use your best skills (Sidekick comes into play here) and he'll fall pretty fast. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Biwig Without Taking Damage ---------------------------------- -This one is also simple. You can't stay in one place, due to the Vendeeni being able to attack from long range, so just run around the outskirts of the battle field until Cliff and Maria take care of him. After the fight, you're treated to some long scenes. =================== BATTLESHIP AQUAELIE =================== (01P) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A N/A N/A -Once you regain control, you're free to explore the ship. There's a Game Room on the ship, which is marked by a Green Arrow. In this same area is Sophia. Talk with her. Examine the room above Sophias to find Maria. Watch the scene, and head for the room with a save point. Use it and rest up. Head back to the bridge, and watch the scene. O----------------------O | Proclaimer | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 50,000 | 50,000 | O----------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -The Proclaimer can be pretty hard if you just rush in without thinking. The Proclaimers most used move is when it uses a Major attack, which unleashes a blue type aura attack that damages your party for HP and MP. Make sure to stay away if you see the Proclaimer glow Purple. Use Major Attacks to Guard Break it, and then Skill Cancel it. If you upgraded your weapons, it really shouldn't be too hard. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Proclaimer Within 1 Minute --------------------------------- -This one can be a bit hard to get, considering the Proclaimer loves to use its Major attack most of the time. Whenever you get an opening, don't hold back at all with your skills. Make sure to Guard Break it first before doing any battle skills. Depending on how much it uses its Major attack, though, you may or may not have a problem getting this. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Proclaimer Without Taking Damage --------------------------------------- -Not too hard. The Major attack of the Proclaimer doesn't stretch out the entire battle field, so you can hang back and heal your party members as needed. If they have their latest weapons equipped, they should be able to handle it themselves. After the fight, watch the scene and you'll have Peppita. Before continuing any further, backtrack to the place where the shops are. Head east at the split and take the elevator down to find the store room. Watch the scene, and you'll gain access to the Storage Room. Head inside to find four chests. Once you obtain them, exit back to where you fought the Proclaimer, and head north to find a chest containing a TRADING CARD 1, which is used to unlock characters in Versus Mode. Head west to reach the next area. Go to the center and head north. Open the chest to obtain a TRADING CARD EX1, which unlocks different costumes for characters in Versus Mode. Go northwest to find a chest containing BLACKBERRIES. Head down and use the elevator. Open the chest in here to find a LIFE SAVER. Go back up and head southwest. Head down the path and open the chest containing a SUNRISE DICTIONARY. Head back to the last area and go southeast. Follow the path and head north at the split for a chest containing CARBONITE ARMOR. Go to the center and head for the lowereast portion to find a chest containing AQUABERRIES. Go southest and then go southwest when given the chance. Head down the elevator and grab the chest to obtain a MIND SAVER. Go back up the elevator and go northeast. Head to where you recruited Peppita. From the center, go northwest, west, southwest, and finally east. Use the save point by the elevator. Save your game and go down the elevator and watch the scene that follows. Make your way back, and as you do, a scene will trigger. You can now recruit Peppita. If you wish to recruit her, you won't be able to recruit either Nel, Albel, or Roger as your next character. The stronger you get, the stronger he gets. If you fight him at the highest level he can be, he'll drop a pair of Boots of Prowess. However, you get the kick ass battle music you had when you fought against Crosell. If you beat Albel, you get the choice to recruit him. Needless to say, Berial needs do go first since a Rocket Launcher in a fight isn't all that fair. Don't give him any time to attck and spam skills such as Sidekick or Air Raid on him. Treat this like any other 2v1 fight as you take on Berial. After Berial falls, Belzeber shouldn't be all that difficult to bring down to his knees. Just watch out for that whip of his. Kinky. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Berial and Belzeber Within 1 Minute ------------------------------------------ -This one can prove to be a small pain, and it might take a couple of tries to get. Sometimes Berial and Belzeber will gang up on you, which makes it hard to hit both of them at the same time. However, because their HP is so low, you should be able to kill them quickly enough to get the trophy. Just use Skill Cancelling to take them down quickly. Air Raid and Sidekick comes to mind here. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Berial And Belzeber Without Taking Damage ------------------------------------------------ -This one is going to be a pain, as your party members don't tend to focus on one of them at a time, and staying back may not be the best option due to Berial's rockets. Just keep your distance, and if you have to, use a tactic or formation so they'll take down Berial first. If they can do that, you should be able to help with with Belzeber without worrying about taking any damage. After the scene, head east. Use the save point and go north. Head west to exit the hallway and then go south. Enter the northeast room to find a chest containing a LASER WEAPON. Use the southeast door to find a MENTAL ENHANCER. Exit and head back north and then northeast. Follow the path and head into the next room to find 4 chests containing a CERAMIC GAUNTLET, SYNTHESIS MATERIALS, RIPE BERRIES, and TRADING CARD 2. Exit and head northwest to find a panel. Examine it to turn it on and exit. Now backtrack all the way back to the stairs that brought you to the fifth floor and save your game. O--------------------O | Enforcer | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 82,000 | 35,000 | O--------------------O -If your HP and MP are low from the previous fight, heal right away and for god sakes, KEEP YOUR HEALTH TO A MAXIMUM. His attacks are damaging, and they usually hit in a wide range, so make sure to run far away from him if you see him winding up for an attack. Air Raid is a good choice for this fight, as is Sidekick. Just avoid his attacks, and keep your health to a maximum. One more. O---------------------O | Convictor | O---------------------O | HP | MP | O---------------------O | 120,000 | 10,000 | O---------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -If your health is low, you better heal up fast, because the Convictor holds no punches back, and if you run in blindly, you'll wind up dead pretty fast. His main attack is when he unleashes a Whirlwind type of attack that rips your parties HP and MP, and it can also juggle you. You'll need to time yourself to attack him when an opening occurs. Stay back and attack whenever you get the chance. The Convictor leaves no room for errors. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Convictor Within 1 Minute -------------------------------- -This one is a huge pain, mainly because you'll have to run in and dodge his whirlwind attack, and get as much damage as possible in one Skill Cancel combo. Sidekick may not be your best bet because of the whirlwind. If you gained a lot of levels recently, and have Dimension Door, use a Skill Cancel combo of Air Raid and Dimension Door. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Convictor Without Taking Damage -------------------------------------- -You can simply stay back to get this trophy, but be prepared to be using a lot of healing items in this fight, as with only two of your party members attacking, this could take awhile. I'd recommend Nel using Mirror Slice, and Maria using Gravity Bullet to take him down quickly. Just keep your distance and heal your party members and you'll get this trophy without a hassle. No more fights, thank god. Watch the scene, and head back to the next area. His HP is high, but there's one attack you should watch out for. If you see the words Misery Circle appear on the screen, quickly run away from the red circle on the ground, as that will quickly sap away your HP and MP. Sadly, your party members are too stupid (though I love Maria still) to dodge it, so you'll need to do a fair amount of healing. Skills like Air Raid and Dimension Door work wonders in this fight. After the fight, enter the Shrine of Kaddan. ================ SHRINE OF KADDAN ================ (02C) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Sacred Orb N/A N/A -Follow the main path to trigger a fight. O--------------------O | Dark Armor | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 67,000 | 6000 | O--------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -There are three of these things, so don't be fooled by the HP amount. These things are much stronger than the Lesser Eye, so don't underestimate them. Sidekick will probably be your best bet in this fight, as you can probably nail at least two, and work your Skill Cancels up from there. Just make sure to keep a constant eye on your health, as these things pack quite a punch. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Dark Armor Within 1 Minute --------------------------------- -If you spam Sidekick on them over and over again, you shouldn't have any troubles getting this trophy, especially if Fayt has Berserk on so he can get off more Sidekicks. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Dark Armor Without Taking Damage --------------------------------------- -You can sit in the corner for this and heal your partners as needed, so you shouldn't have too much trouble with this. Just becareful not to get caught between two of them in the corner. After the fight, use the save point along the way and you'll trigger another fight. O------------------------O | Crystal Statue | O------------------------O | HP | MP | O------------------------O | 168,000 | 10,000 | O------------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -This is just like the Crystal Cerberus you fought during your first visit to the Shrine of Kaddan. His attacks aren't too threatening. The only problem is that you'll need to chase him around everywhere, as it's hard to lock him into one place. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Crystal Statue Within 1 Minute ------------------------------------- -This one is going to be a huge pain. Sidekick may not work, as it's pretty hard to corner him. Air Raid might help here. Dimension Door isn't too shabby either. If you have any party members that can deal some decent MP damage, consider going for the MP kill instead of the HP kill. If you were able to get the 1 Minute Trophy with the Crystal Cerberus, you should be able to get this one. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Crystal Statue Without Taking Damage ------------------------------------------- -Sitting the fight out is the easy choice to do, so take it. Make sure to stay away from your party members so you don't accidentally get hit. You'll just need to be patient, as only two party members attacking it while it moves all over the place will take some time. After the fight, head back to save your game and continue on down the path that leads to the Sacred Orb for another fight. O-------------------O | Dark Eye | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 330,000 | 56,000 | O-------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -This is just like the fight with the Lesser Eye, only he has a lot more HP then his counterpart. He's generally easy, and has the same attacks that the Lesser Eye had, so if you see a red circle on the ground, run away from it. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Dark Eye Within 1 Minute ------------------------------- -This one is easily one of the hardest trophies to get in the game. Because of that high HP total, and his ability to fly high into the air, you'll find yourself breaking your controller to get this one. Going for an MP kill isn't enough either. If you haven't been Item Creating, this can pose as near impossible, since you'll want to use Might Tablets to have a better chance of getting his trophy. Anti-Air skills such as Air Raid help tremendously, and follow that with a Skill Cancel of Dimension Door, you'll rack the damage on him, but he'll usually fly away as you charge Dimension Door. I can only say good luck getting this trophy, because I was damn lucky to get this one. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Dark Eye Without Taking Damage ------------------------------------- -This one is all about patience. It's risky to run in and help, as you can be caught in the air as the red circle appears underneath you. Rely on your two party members to do the damage, but expect to use A LOT of healing items due to them running into the red circle every time. After the fight, use the save point as you come to it and enter the Sacred Orb room. After the scene, you'll obtain the SACRED ORB. Now make your way back to Aquios. Head for the Audience Chamber for another scene. Now exit and make your way to the Mosel Dunes. ============== MOSEL DUNES ============== (02D) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A N/A N/A -Once you enter the Dunes, you'll automatically be thrown into a fight. O-------------------O | Chimera | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 200,000 | 28,000 | O-------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -This fight is more annoying than it is difficult. The Chimera will run all over the place, and it can damage you when it charges at you, and it can damage you with its tail, which can also paralyze you. Use skills like Air Raid and Dimension Door since Sidekick will most likely land you near the tail. Just stay away from its rear end, and don't let up with your attacks. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Chimera Within 1 Minute ------------------------------ -Since the Chimera loves to run around everywhere, this trophy might take a couple of tries to get, unless you refined your weapons, which I'm hoping you didn't. Try to use your skills that are set to the Short and Long Majors to guard break it and let loose with your best Skill Cancelling combos. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Chimera Without Taking Damage ------------------------------------ -Your party members tend to run into the tail a lot, so you may need to help out if you feel you may run out of Basils. Just stay far away from him if you think he'll charge after you next. Be ready to heal your party members also. After the fight, heal up and make your way to the Ancient Ruins of Mosel. ====================== ANCIENT RUINS OF MOSEL ====================== (02E) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A N/A N/A -Make your way to the conference room for another fight. Sidekick will be your best friend in this fight, as his attacks are very slow, you shouldn't get interrupted that much. Just Skill Cancel him to death. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Stone Golem Within 1 Minute ---------------------------------- -300,000 HP is a lot to knock off, but you should be able to do it if you Skill Cancel Sidekick over and over again. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Stone Golem Without Taking Damage ---------------------------------------- -You can sit this one out safely, and heal your party members as needed. They should be able to handle him without any troubles. It will just take awhile. If you need to get any restoring items, now is the chance to do so. If you feel you're ready, go down the west set of stairs and watch the scene. ============== FIREWALL ============== (02F) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- N/A Stalker 1/60 Scale Bunny Masque Elder Eye Attack Bot LV4 Robo Gunner -Before venturing any further, exit the Firewall and get the two treasure chests in the room you enter. Enter back into the Firewall. From the start, go west and continue down the path. Go west again once you get the chance and head north and continue north to reach the next area. Touch the crystal balls (shut up) and you'll be back at the beginning of the area. Go east through the lower door and head to the top of the room and head west. Head north and go west again. Go north again and go east at the split. Head to the end and go south and east and head northwest and head through the door at the north. Go northeast and exit east. Step onto the switch and exit this room, and take the west exit. Head west and then south and then follow the path west. Head through the open door, and it will close behind you. Go west to find a save point. Use it and go back to the door and go north and ignore the first split and continue north. Keep going north to find the exit to the next area. Head north, and then east. Head to the east to find a switch. Step on it and backtrack to the save point. Use it and go through the door. Watch the scene and then you'll be thrown into a fight. O--------------------------O | Battlecopter | O--------------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------------O | 200,000 | 30,000 | O--------------------------O Boss Strategy ------------- -The Rofflecopter... I mean Battlecopter isn't that hard, and with only 200k HP, it shouldn't take long to disperse it, though it can pack a punch if it lands its multiple hit attacks on you. Stay behind the Battlecopter to avoid the gunfire and use skills like Air Raid to bring it to the ground, followed by a Dimension Door. If it flies into the air, quickly run away to avoid the bombs. They really should've called it the Rofflecopter since it's too easy. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Battlecopter Within 1 Minute ----------------------------------- -Not too hard. If you turn Berserk on, you can get off two Air Raids and two Dimension Doors to get a 300% Skill Cancel bonus. That should take off a huge amount of its HP. Or you can just do a normal Air Raid/Dimension Door Cancel combo. Either way, it should fall fast. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Battlecopter Without Taking Damage ----------------------------------------- -If the Battlecopter comes after you, simply stand behind it to avoid its gunfire and knock it to the ground and run away to a safer place as your party members take it down. You'll need to heal them a few times since they aren't smart enough to dodge the falling bombs, but all in all, not too hard of a trophy. After the scene, use the back teleporter to reach our next destination. ============== SPIRAL TOWER ============== (02G) Items Enemies Map Completion ----- ------- -------------- Blackberries x3 Elder Eye 1/60 Scale Bunny Ripe Berries Blood Monster Magical Berries Shadow Savant Perfect Berries Masque Synthesis Materials x2 Biochimera Compounding Materials x2 Ram Guardian Bunny Shoes Fire Absorption Efreet Crstal x2 Fenir's Crystal Worn-Out Textbook Trading Card 3 62700 Fol -This is the final dungeon of the game, so make sure you're absolutely prepared. It's a long walk back to Surferio or Peterny. Follow the path north until you reach a split. Go south and head right at the next split and follow the path to find a chest containing a TRADING CARD 3. Go back to the split and head north once you reach another split. Go east at the split for a chest containing BLACKBERRIES. Head back to the split and go west and follow the path and go north at the next split. Follow the path and take the elevator up. Use the save point and head to the next screen to trigger a scene. O----------------------O | Pseudo Blair | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 100,000 | 13,992 | O----------------------O -This boss is way too easy. With an HP total like that at this point of the game, you should be able to waste her within 20 seconds of this fight. Her attacks hit a wide area, but they're pretty weak. After the pathetically easy fight, heal up and go north. Follow the path to trigger a scene. Head southwest from Blair and examine the strange object once you reach it. O--------------------O | Rukotogias | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 280,000 | 30,000 | O--------------------O -This guy isn't that hard. But he has one attack that will rip apart anyone caught in it, so avoid him if you see him winding up for any kind of attack. Other than that, just lay waste to him. After the fight, backtrack to the sealed elevator and go west. Follow the path and examine the strange object. O----------------------O | Chimera Hawk | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 85,000 | 28,000 | O----------------------O -This fight will annoy the hell out of you. There are three of these things, and they attack quickly and swiftly, and their attacks hurt a lot, especially if they gang up on a character. The best way to deal with them is to use a crowd controlling skill to keep them stationary so your party members can attack them. Dimension Door is perfect for this. Use and hold it down until your Fury reaches 0%. Repeat until dead, but make sure to keep a constant eye on your health. After the scene, backtrack to the sealed elevator and go east and follow the path. Inspect the strange object. O-----------------------O | Death Monster | O-----------------------O | HP | MP | O-----------------------O | 120,000 | 30,000 | O-----------------------O -This fight is actually easier than the Chimera Hawks, but it can still be a bit of a challenge if you let your guard down. There are two of these things, and they hurt a lot, but if you keep moving around and unleash an Air Raid Cancel on them, you'll be fine. After the fight, make your way back to Blair, and then go back to the elevator and watch the scene. Take it up to the third floor. Use the save point, and head north to find the next area. Keep going north and then head east and examine the purple door. Head back out and go down the hall into the other door. You need to make the giant crystal the same color the door is, and the big number represents how many times you can change the crystals. If you don't get it by the time the number runs out, you'll have to fight a battle. In order to get the crystal to turn purple, hit each crystal once with your Ring of Disintegration. Open the chest for an EFREET CRYSTAL and go to where the purple door was. Go through and head down the hall and follow it as it curves and head through the door to find an orange door. Exit out of this room and head left and into the room on the south. Start with the red crystal and hit it 9 times, and then hit the blue crystal once. Open the chest for an EFREET CRYSTAL and go through where the orange door was. Open the chest here to obtain BLACKBERRIES and then east to find a chest containing a WORN-OUT TEXTBOOK. Head back to the hall and go left and then north and then through the door on the right. Examine the green door and exit the room and head north and around the corner and through the door here. Hit each crystal 3 times and open the chest for a FENRIR'S CRYSTAL. Head to where the Green Door was and go north and go through the door. Head northeast and follow the path and go through the door in the southeast. Go south to find a red door. Hit the blue crystal 8 times, and the red crystal once. Head through the newly opened door and grab the two chests in here to obtain 62700 FOL and some PERFECT BERRIES. Head north twice and then go through a door on the west. Continue west and then south and then go through the first door on the west. Examine the yelloe door and head back and go through the door leading north. Hit the blue crystal 14 times, and hit the red crystal 2 times. Go through the yellow door and use the elevators until you reach the sixth floor. Use the save point and head into the door near you and go through the door in the northeast. Head north and go left at the split and follow the path. Go through the southwest door and follow the path and go through the door. Open the chests to obtain some RIPE BERRIES, SYNTHESIS MATERIALS, and COMPOUNDING ELIXIRS. Make your way back to the split and head north. Open the chests to obtain SYNTHESIS MATERIALS and BLACKBERRIES. Head through the northeast door and go northeast. Exit south in this room and use your Ring of Disintegration on the west wall to reveal a hidden path. Step on the platform. Backtrack to the broken elevator and take the east door. Head south to find a chest containing a FIRE ABSORPTION. Go back to the last room and head to the southeast. Destroy the wall on the southend and step on the switch in here. Backtrack to the broken elevator and take the other only door. Follow the path and break down the wall and step on the final platform. Make your way back to the elevator and ride it up to the seventh floor. Head for the elevator to ride it up to the eighth floor. Head for the elevator to ride it up to the ninth floor. Head for the elevator to fide it up to the tenth floor. On the tenth floor, head directly north until you find a save point. Just a small note here, that the Biochimeras give some good Fol. Use the save point and head to the next screen and follow the path here to trigger a scene. O-------------------O | Luther | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 200,000 | 60,000 | O-------------------O -Luther isn't that tough. He mainly uses his spear, which is easy to dodge. Simply Skill Cancel his ass. 200k HP is easy to deplete. After the fight, some more scenes occur, and the final battle begins. O----------------------O | Luther | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 400,000 | 120,000 | O----------------------O -Luther turned into a huge dick. This form of Luther is much, much, much tougher. If you did some Item Creating, and buffed up your weapons, then you should have no troubles, but that takes the fun away, so I'm hoping you didn't do that. His HP and MP doubled, and he has some new, nasty attacks. One of the ones he doesn't use often is Laser Beams. His three most used, however, are the most dangerous. Flaming Divide starts off with a small attack area, and then it becomes a huge wave. Anyone that it hits, it does heavy HP and MP damage. This attack is character specific, so simply stay away from the targetted character to dodge the wave portion of it. Perfect Symmetry is when Luther uses a circular aura that damages anyone near Luther. Simply staying away from Luther is the easiest way to dodge this attack. Your party members aren't so smart, and this attack hurts, and can Paralyze, so make sure to heal immediately. Luthers most deadly attack, however, is Insanity Prelude, in which the entire battlefield turns red, and spikes come flying out from the corners. DO NOT GET CAUGHT IN ONE OF THE SPIKES. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL DIE. Once the spikes are out, Luther will shoot out several blasts, heavily damaging all of your party members. Needless to say, you'll have most likely one or two dead characters by the end of this attack, or perhaps all three if you're already low on health. This attack is very hard to dodge, but staying in the corners may help you out. Just stay away from the spikes. Now to the fight itself. You'll need to do a lot of character switching here to either cure Paralysis, or to revive the character you're controlling, so make sure you're quick with your fingers. Air Raid will usually juggle him so use that to get him off guard and build up your Skill Cancels as he gets back up to damage him more. Keep your health up at all times, as when Luther gets low on health, he uses Insanity Prelude about 3 times in a row, and then uses Flaming Divide a few times in a row, as well as Perfect Symmetry. Needless to say, Luther is a cheap bastard, and going all out with your attack to take him down as quickly as possible is the way to go, but make sure to break every once in awhile to heal up. If you die, try again. This battle is very hard, and once you defeat him, do a little happy dance. After Luther is defeated, watch the ending and enjoy the music in the credits. It's a nice song. During The End screen, you'll get a message indicating that your save file has something new on it. You'll need to reset your game to get back to the save menu. Once you do, you'll notice the word CLEAR on it. You can now do some optional dungeons, which will challenge you to the brink. Happy hunting. =================== 5.) O------------------------O | Sculpture Lord | O------------------------O | HP | MP | O------------------------O | 40,000 | 30,000 | O------------------------O -Depending on your level, this fight can be really easy, or really hard. If your levels are below 30, or perhaps 40, you may find yourself struggling. If you're doing this postgame, then you should have no troubles. Either way, the Sculpture Lord has a nasty attack in which he spins around and shoots out an explosive beam for a few seconds, and it hurts. Make sure to take out the two rocks first to make the battle easier. Again, depending on your level, this will be either easy or hard. After the fight, open the chest to obtain PARACELSUS'S TABLE. Exit the Ruins and go to Peterny and visit Welch. You'll now have Versus Mode unlocked. In order to play it, talk with Welch and choose whichever options you want. ------------------- O---------------------O O-----------------------O | Inquisitor | | Airyglyph Solider | O---------------------O O-----------------------O | HP | MP | | HP | MP | O---------------------O O-----------------------O | 1300 | 40 | | 400 | 18 | O---------------------O O-----------------------O (10C) -This fight is simple. ------------------- O---------------------O | Earth Smasher | O---------------------O | HP | MP | O---------------------O | 3600 | 163 | O---------------------O (10E) -There aren't any battle trophies for this guy, so don't worry about screwing anything up. He's generally slow, and his attacks are easy to dodge. If you hear the words Earth Glaive come out of his mouth, quickly run anywhere but in front of him, and then start hacking at him. You can probably end this quickly by using Blazing Sword and whack his MP down. ------------------- O-----------------O O---------------------------O | Shelby | | Black Brigade Solider | O-----------------O O---------------------------O | HP | MP | | HP | MP | O-----------------O O---------------------------O | 5100 | 13,816 | | 1150 | 68 | O-----------------O O---------------------------O (10F) Boss Strategy ------------- -Depending on your level, Shelby can either be easy, or hard. Make sure to take out the Soliders first to take out one threat. Once they're gone, use your best skills and Skill Cancel him over and over (Sidekick works quite well here). You shouldn't have too much trouble if your levels are at a reasonable level, which should be around 17 or so. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Shelby Within 1 Minute ----------------------------- -If you have Sidekick, equip it and just spam it on Shelby. Or you can equip some Strength boosting items on Cliff and switch to him. Either way, attack him fast and hard and you should get this without too much trouble. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Shelby Without Taking Damage ----------------------------------- -This one isn't that hard either. Cliff and Nel should be able to handle this fight themselves, so sit back and heal them when necessary, and avoid any Soldiers that come after you. ------------------- O----------------------------O | Moonshadow Clan Chief | O----------------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------------O | 5500 | 250 | O----------------------------O (10G) Boss Strategy ------------- -This really shouldn't be classified as a boss fight, but for some reason, it is. ------------------- O----------------O | Mudman | O----------------O | HP | MP | O----------------O | 8000 | 500 | O----------------O (10H) Boss Strategy ------------- -He's just like the Moonshadow Clan Leader, except he has more HP and MP, but really isn't a bigger threat. ------------------- O----------------O | Cockatrice | O----------------O | HP | MP | O----------------O | 15,500 | 431 | O----------------O (10I) Boss Strategy ------------- -Ah yes. ------------------- O--------------------O O-----------------------O | Demetrio | | Dragon Legion | O--------------------O O-----------------------O | HP | MP | | HP | MP | O--------------------O O-----------------------O | 14,800 | 17,776 | | 3000 | 192 | O--------------------O O-----------------------O (10J) Boss Strategy ------------- -Demetrio can pose as a problem, mainly because he's in the air throughout the entire battle. ------------------- O---------------O O--------------------------O | Albel | | Black Brigade Solider | O---------------O O--------------------------O | HP | MP | | HP | MP | O---------------O O--------------------------O | 26,000 | 2600 | | 4220 | 192 | O---------------O O--------------------------O (10K) -Albel is easily the strongest and hardest boss you've faced. Take out the Soldiers first to decrease the difficulty of the battle. Albel is very agile and very strong, so make sure to side step effeciently and attack him whenever he pauses momentarily. Time your Skill Cancelling carefully, as Albel can easily catch you off guard. He hits hard, he hits fast, and he doesn't hold back, so don't be afraid to use any Ripe Berries if everyone is starting to get low on health ------------------- O--------------------O | Vox | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 30,000 | 20,000 | O--------------------O (10L) -Vox is actually pretty simple. ------------------- O-----------------------O | Flying Knight | O-----------------------O | HP | MP | O-----------------------O | 17,000 | 240 | O-----------------------O (10M) -This boss is way too easy. Simply use Ice Blade with Fayt and hack at his MP and he'll fall in no time. ------------------- O--------------------------O | Crystal Cerberus | O--------------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------------O | 30,000 | 3500 | O--------------------------O (10N) Boss Strategy ------------- -This is exactly like a Crystal Statue, only tougher and faster. Unlike the Crystal Statues, you won't be able to use Ice Sword, since he's immune to practically every element. Blazing Sword, Ice Sword, or anything elemental will not work in this fight since the Crystal Cerberus is immune to all of them. ------------------- O-------------------O | Schweimer | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 16,800 | 1400 | O-------------------O (10O) -Not a tough fight. His attacks are pathetic, and his HP is just as pathetic, so you should have no troubles with this guy. ------------------- O------------------------O | Blue Dragon Zombie | O------------------------O | HP | MP | O------------------------O | 30,000 | 2500 | O------------------------O (10P) Boss Strategy ------------- -This boss focuses more on your MP rather than your HP. If you're using Cliff, keep a constant eye on his MP. It's hard to Skill Cancel on this boss, so you'll need to rely on just using single skills rather than comboing him. His HP is so low, though, that you shouldn't have any troubles. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Blue Dragon Zombie Within 1 Minute ----------------------------------------- -This one is pretty simple. His HP is pretty low, but it's pretty hard to Skill Cancel him, as you'll most likely get hurt. Just use whatever skills you can and you should have no problem with this Trophy. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Blue Dragon Zombie Without Taking Damage ----------------------------------------------- -There's a nifty trick to pull this one off. Equip two Regeneration Symbols on Maria and Nel, and have them attack the boss. You should just sit back in the corner while they do the work. With two Regeneration Symbols on them, they shouldn't lose a lot of MP, so you shouldn't need to worry about healing them. ------------------- O--------------------O | Robin Wind | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 50,000 | 1800 | O--------------------O (10Q) Boss Strategy ------------- -Robin Wind is a difficult boss, because he's both agile, and despite his appearance, he's very strong. ------------------- O-----------------O | Crosell | O-----------------O | HP | MP | O-----------------O | 29,000 | 4200 | O-----------------O (10R) Boss Strategy ------------- -Don't get distracted by the awesome music. ------------------- O-----------------O | Crosell | O-----------------O | HP | MP | O-----------------O | 62,000 | 6000 | O-----------------O (10S) -Crosell is serious this time. ------------------- O-------------------O | Biwig | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 26,000 | 13,816 | O-------------------O (10T) Boss Strategy ------------- -Biwig is just like a Vendeeni Soldier, only he has a bit more HP. ------------------- O----------------------O | Proclaimer | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 50,000 | 50,000 | O----------------------O (10U) Boss Strategy ------------- -The Proclaimer can be pretty hard if you just rush in without thinking. ------------------- O------------------O | Azazer | O------------------O | HP | MP | O------------------O | 99,000 | 9000 | O------------------O (10V) Boss Strategy ------------- -Azazer focuses mainly on your MP rather than your HP, so people like Cliff, Roger, and Albel might be in danger in this fight. If you have any Regeneration Symbols, equipping them would be a good idea. The battle itself isn't that hard. If you upgraded your equipment in Gemity, you should be able to take him out quickly. Side Kick or Air Raid are two good skills to use in this fight. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BATTLE TROPHIES --------------- Defeat Azazer Within 1 Minute ----------------------------- -If you upgraded your equipment in Gemity, you shouldn't have any trouble getting this trophy. Just Skill Cancel his ass. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Defeat Azazer Without Taking Damage ----------------------------------- -Just sit this fight out and use Blackberries if needed and run around if Azazer targets you. ------------------- O-----------------------O O------------------O | Belzeber | | Berial | O-----------------------O O------------------O | HP | MP | | HP | MP | O-----------------------O O------------------O | 62,000 | 30,000 | | 70,000 | 5000 | O-----------------------O O------------------O (10W) Boss Strategy ------------- -This fight really isn't that difficult, but it can prove to be a pain as they sometimes team up on one character. ------------------- O----------------------O | Proclaimer | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 65,000 | 4000 | O----------------------O (10X) -This Proclaimer is exactly like the last Proclaimer you fought. Make sure to be careful in this fight, though, and keep your health at a maximum before dealing the finishing blow. ------------------- O--------------------O | Enforcer | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 82,000 | 35,000 | O--------------------O (10Y) -If your HP and MP are low from the previous fight, heal right away and for god sakes, KEEP YOUR HEALTH TO A MAXIMUM. His attacks are damaging, and they usually hit in a wide range, so make sure to run far away from him if you see him winding up for an attack. Air Raid is a good choice for this fight, as is Sidekick. Just avoid his attacks, and keep your health to a maximum. ------------------- O---------------------O | Convictor | O---------------------O | HP | MP | O---------------------O | 120,000 | 10,000 | O---------------------O (10Z) Boss Strategy ------------- -If your health is low, you better heal up fast, because the Convictor holds no punches back, and if you run in blindly, you'll wind up dead pretty fast. ------------------- O----------------------O | Lesser Eye | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 230,000 | 56,000 | O----------------------O (11A) -This fight isn't all that difficult. ------------------- O--------------------O | Dark Armor | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 67,000 | 6000 | O--------------------O (11B) Boss Strategy ------------- -There are three of these things, so don't be fooled by the HP amount. ------------------- O------------------------O | Crystal Statue | O------------------------O | HP | MP | O------------------------O | 168,000 | 10,000 | O------------------------O (11C) Boss Strategy ------------- -This is just like the Crystal Cerberus you fought during your first visit to the Shrine of Kaddan. ------------------- O-------------------O | Dark Eye | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 330,000 | 56,000 | O-------------------O (11D) Boss Strategy ------------- -This is just like the fight with the Lesser Eye, only he has a lot more HP then his counterpart. ------------------- O-------------------O | Chimera | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 200,000 | 28,000 | O-------------------O (11E) Boss Strategy ------------- -This fight is more annoying than it is difficult. ------------------- O-------------------------O | Stone Golem | O-------------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------------O | 300,000 | 20,000 | O-------------------------O (11F) Boss Strategy ------------- -The Stone Golem may be big, but he's nowhere near powerful. ------------------- O--------------------------O | Battlecopter | O--------------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------------O | 200,000 | 30,000 | O--------------------------O (11G) Boss Strategy ------------- -The Rofflecopter... ------------------- O----------------------O | Pseudo Blair | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 100,000 | 13,992 | O----------------------O (11H) -This boss is way too easy. With an HP total like that at this point of the game, you should be able to waste her within 20 seconds of this fight. Her attacks hit a wide area, but they're pretty weak. ------------------- O--------------------O | Rukotogias | O--------------------O | HP | MP | O--------------------O | 280,000 | 30,000 | O--------------------O (11I) -This guy isn't that hard. But he has one attack that will rip apart anyone caught in it, so avoid him if you see him winding up for any kind of attack. Other than that, just lay waste to him. ------------------- O----------------------O | Chimera Hawk | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 85,000 | 28,000 | O----------------------O (11J) -This fight will annoy the hell out of you. ------------------- O-----------------------O | Death Monster | O-----------------------O | HP | MP | O-----------------------O | 120,000 | 30,000 | O-----------------------O (11K) -This fight is actually easier than the Chimera Hawks, but it can still be a bit of a challenge if you let your guard down. There are two of these things, and they hurt a lot, but if you keep moving around and unleash an Air Raid Cancel on them, you'll be fine. ------------------- O-------------------O | Luther | O-------------------O | HP | MP | O-------------------O | 200,000 | 60,000 | O-------------------O (11L) -Luther isn't that tough. He mainly uses his spear, which is easy to dodge. Simply Skill Cancel his ass. 200k HP is easy to deplete. ------------------- O----------------------O | Luther | O----------------------O | HP | MP | O----------------------O | 400,000 | 120,000 | O----------------------O (11M) -Luther turned into a huge dick. =================== 8.) Versus Mode =================== In order to unlock Versus Mode, you'll need to get Paracelsus's Table from the Aquatic Gardens of Surferio. If you wish to find out how to get there, or how to get through it, please refer to the optional dungeon section of the guide. After getting the Table, go talk with Welch in order to play it. I'll list the characters and how to unlock them (if they have to be), where their extra costumes are located, and what skills they have on each skill set.
