Your website will be added at the bottom of the FAQ/Walkthrough under the websites where the guide is available. Thank you for you cooperation. --------------------- 3.Introduction (prt3) --------------------- Hello everyone! This is my second attempt at writing a FAQ/Walkthrough for a game, my first being for Xenosaga Episode 1. So, if you saw my name in a guide before, it was probably for that game. Anyway, I'll try to get this FAQ/Walkthrough completed ASAP, especially the Walkthrough section, since this is the part most people are asking for. Of course, this is a long term project, and since I have a full time job, I'll ask for your patience while I try to complete this ASAP, though I'm sure you can understand this will take at the very least a few weeks to get done. Anyway, you'll be able to find in this guide my personal full review of the game, the basic controls, a full Walkthrough (once this section is completed) as well as full lists of weapons/ accessories/ items etc... Hope you enjoy this guide and that it proves useful as you work your way through the game! ---------------------- 4.E-Mail Policy (prt4) ---------------------- Extremely important section since I WILL NOT reply if you don't follow those very simple rules. First of all, make sure you put Kingdom Hearts 2 or KH2 in the title of your e-mail or chances are you'll never get a reply, I get enough spam already so simply putting that in your message title will allow me to reply within a day or 2 depending on the number of questions I have to answer. Here's a small list of what you can and can't send me. Send me : ------- - I've already completed the game once, if you have any questions not already answered in the FAQ, you can send them to me. - If you have any suggestions to help me make a better FAQ, I have no problems with that. - Any mistakes or anything I forgot to mention in the FAQ, you'll get full credit for them. - Strategy on bosses, you'll get full credit for them too. - Any comments about my FAQ. Don't send me : ------------- - Comments about how good you are at this game. - Anything that is not related to the game. - Questions already answered in the FAQ. Look in the Frequently Asked Questions part of this FAQ to see if your question is there. ----------------- 5. History (prt5) ----------------- Version 1.0 : ----------- First version of this FAQ/Walkthrough. Did most of the early stuff I can do without even really playing the game and I also started working on the Walkthrough. - Table of content with search function added - Introduction added - Legal Stuff added - E-Mail Policy added - Started the History Section - Review of the game completed! - Basics of the game completed! - Walkthrough fully completed! - Bestiary completed! - Started the Secrets/Side Quests section - Started the Final Words Section - Started the About this FAQ Section - Started the Credits Section - Started the In the next update... section ---------------------------- 6. Review of the Game (prt6) ---------------------------- The long awaited sequel to one of the most surprising success of 2002 in the video gaming industry is finally here. With a brand new engine to work with, Square-Enix/Disney's third game had the fans of the previous 2 titles expecting nothing less than one of the best game ever created. It would not be far from the truth if it weren't for some obvious flaws with the game's mechanics and story. Graphically, the game is simply astonishing, using the full potential of the PlayStation 2 without any latency at all during the gameplay. The worlds you previously visited in the first game underwent a full makeover in most case, and the results are nothing short of amazing. The game will simply blow you away with its beautiful environments, its beautyful but still extremely fluid battle animations and the better than ever FMV sequences. Character models have also been refined a little bit, but it's not like those will look that much better than the first game. The fast paced action battles are what made the first game so interesting and entertaining to play in the first place, and if you were a fan of those in the first one, you will get your money's worth with Kingdom Hearts 2. The camera system has now been fixed since you can now freely move the camera any way you want using the right analog stick. The only little problem with this is that you might have a hard time attacking and rotating the camera at the same time, unless you use your index to keep smashing the X button and use your thumb to rotate the camera, which is fairly awkward. Many new things were added, some good, some bad. The biggest changes are the Reaction commands and the Drive forms. Reaction commands are activated under special occasions and are most of the time an easier way to defeat some enemies or simply a short cut to use one of your limit attacks or Drive. They go from piercing through a boss' defense to simply talking to a character on the map. Innovative, intuitive after the first hour through the game, overall, a really nice addition to an already solid system. Drives are now used to combine the power of one of your partner with yours to transform yourself and allow you to use some special abilities. A total of 4 Drive forms are available to you when you reach the end of the game, and while they all offer different advantages, they might also give you a disadvantage in certain sections of the game. You will also be able to level each forms up to level 7. You'll gain new abilities for each of them as your form gets stronger, but this will take a while to do. Although some may find this a cheap way to get through the game, it is still interesting to use and can come in handy if you're fairly new at action based role playing games. Another thing that was added to the game is an ability that allows you to team up with one of your party member on the field and use a special 'Limit' attack. While these attacks look good on the field, you'd still most likely end up doing more damage just using your keyblade and hitting the enemies fiercely. Still a nice eye candy if you're a fan of that kind of things in a game, but still, it could have been left behind and the game wouldn't have been that different. Once again, the summons are back in the game, but one could wonder exactly why they brought those back? They did make them easier to access this time around since they have their own sub-menu when you're in battle, but they are nowhere near becoming useful in this title either. Of course, you can still cast them if you want, but besides maybe Stitch who could keep you safe if you're really in trouble, the other ones are pretty much useless no matter what situation you're in. Some people will also find annoying the fact that casting the 'Cure' spell now takes all of your MP (Mana Points). Fortunately, your MP bar will slowly regenerates itself even while you're in battle. Still, the spell is not as useful as it was in the first game, so most players will easily be able to deal with that. And even with the very few spells you'll actually use in the game, this title might very well seem a bit too easy for the more experienced gamer. Even on the hardest difficulty setting, one will have little trouble getting through the game with the exception of a few boss fights near the end of the game. So, if you're looking for a good challenge from the game, you'll have to keep your character's level a bit under the recommended level you see before entering each world and maybe avoid using Drives among other things. The music in the game is once again great. You'll recognize many Disney classics of course, and the original tracks are usually good enough so you don't get tired of hearing them even after returning to the worlds for a second time. The voice actors did a good job overall, although it is debattable for some characters in the game. The main theme for the game is a good song, although it may sound like Hikaru just stretched a few notes at some places to fill in the blanks. The story takes place after the events of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, which is about 1 year after the events of the first Kingdom Hearts. While it is pretty good once you get past a certain point in the game, the first 10 hours or so of the game will pretty much only throw you around from world to world without much relation to the main story of the game. Fortunately enough, the game does come back to the main plotline after that time, and you get the answers to the questions that were left lingering after the first 2 titles. As for the replay value this game has to offer, it is over par for sure. Many optional quests such as the gummi missions, the synthesis items and the very popular Coliseum are available to anyone looking to spend some more time with the game and possibly get a bigger challenge if you're planning to complete the fairly lenghty Coliseum. Of course, you can always get all your characters/summons/drives to their maximum level, but this will take away the little challenge the game has to offer. While this review does seem to bash the game quite a lot, don't get the wrong idea, Kingdom Hearts 2 is an excellent title that any RPG fans should enjoy if they can look past the Disney characters in the game and can get past the slow start. The game offers many new things, some interesting, some not, it brings back what made the first game succesful, but they also bring back some of the useless things that were in the first title. Overall, the game will still give you your money's worth, especially if you were a fan of the first game and really wanted to know what would happen to the your main characters after Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. A must buy if you liked the first game, still a good buy for fans of action based RPG and most RPG fans in general. First, you can now see a mini-map of the area at the top right corner of the screen. A red line shows a room change while the grey part are the paths you can walk on. On the bottom right corner, you'll find your main characters informations. Your HP bar is in green and your MP bar is in blue. If your MP bar is in pink, it's because you ran out of MP and it is currently recharging. You'll also see the newly added Drive bar in yellow. The number next to it is the amount of full bar you currently have. If MAX is flashing over the bar, that means your drive gauge is full. On the bottom left corner of the screen, you'll find your main command menu. You'll find a various list of actions you can perform. Attack ------ Your main attack command, you can use it by pressing the X button. Press the X button repeatedly to perform combos. Certain abilities will also allow you to add a square or circle button attack at the end of a combo. Magic ----- Your magic menu will have 6 different magics when you reach the end of the game. Since you can set your most used magic in the customize menu and use the L1 shortcut to access them, you probably won't use that one a lot. Items ----- Once again, a menu you may not use a lot since you can equip items to your L1 shortcut menu. Only items you previously equipped in the Items menu will be available for use. If you didn't put them on auto-reload, you'll only be able to use each of them once. Drive ----- Allow you to perform a Drive transformation. This command will be available only once you have 3 full Drive bars. You can then use the first 2 Drive forms available to you. The last 2 each require 4 and 5 full Drive bars. This function will allow Sora to use new abilities like dual wielding keyblades among many other things. Those abilities can be seen under the Abilities menu. Summon ------ This is in the second section of the command menu which is available by pressing left on the directional pad. This will allow you to use one of your summon if you have any. This doesn't require any MP, but it will use 3 full drive bars. Also, while your summon is out, your party members won't be able to fight on your side. Party ----- A nice addition to the solid KH1 system. This will allow you to switch members even during battle. Can come in handy if one of your character is down and you want to switch him out of battle. Also, you might need specific characters at some part in the game, so you'll have to use that option at some parts. Limit ----- Allow you to perform a special 'Limit' attack combining your power and one of your party member's power. These attacks, while not particularly strong, are a nice addition and usually look very good. You'll need to press the X and triangle button once the limit attack is activated if you want both characters to use the maximum potential of their special attack. Important thing to note, using a 'Limit' attack will consume all of your MP, consider this before using these. Reaction Command ---------------- A new addition are the 'Reaction' commands. Those will become accessible in battle or on the field to interact with NPC (non-playable characters) or to avoid attacks among other things. They can be used by pressing the Triangle button when it is shown just over the Attack menu. C) Menu Screen (prt7c) ---------------------- If you played any RPG before, this screen should already feel very familiar. On the right side of the screen, you'll find your current party with their level, HP and MP under each of them. In the bottom left corner, you'll find the amount of munny (in-game currency) as well as your playtime so far. Here is a small explanation of each sub sections of the menu on the left side of the screen. Items ----- The items menu not only allows you to see all the items you have in stock, it also allows you to change your character's equipments and equip different items you or your other 2 party members will be able to use in battle. If you don't want to have to re-equip consumable items all the time, you can now set an auto-reload mode by pressing the triangle button on the item you want to have re-equipped automatically after you use it. Abilities --------- In here, you can equip or unequip your characters with a wide variety of abilities they will learn as they get stronger or as they get past certain parts of the game. Each abilities require a certain amount of AP (Ability Points) in order to be able to equip them. If you don't have enough AP to equip an ability, you'll need to unequip another ability and then you just might be able to equip the one you wanted. Your total AP is showed at the bottom right corner of the screen. You can easily equip or unequip abilities by pressing the triangle button. Abilities you can equip will be in white while abilities you cannot equip will be greyed out. Note: Drive form abilities are fixed, so you don't need to bother equipping and unequipping those. Customize --------- In this menu, you will be able to set your shortcut magic/item command. By holding down the L1 button on the field, a shortcut menu allows you to use an item or a spell by simply pressing X, O, square or triangle. The MP Charge allows you to set spells you want to have recharged once you run out of MP. Let me explain, once you use all of your MP, a pink bar will appear instead of the traditional blue MP bar. This bar will gradually decrease if you have spells equipped with MP Charge. Not much use to it since you'll most likely want to keep them turned on at all time. You will also find an auto-reload section which is exactly the same as explained in the item section. Party ----- This menu simply allows you to switch the party members active on the field. The ones that will be on your team in battle are in red and the one in 'reserve' will be in blue. Simply use the X button to switch between the characters. Status ------ This part allows you to see the full status of your characters. You'll find everything you need to know about your character's strength, magic, defense and many other things in here. Journal ------- This section will bring you to Jimini's journal which is updated very frequently as you progress through the game. You'll find everything you have done so far in the game, all the enemies you have fought, the Ansem Reports you found and even the treasure chests you opened and missed. Once a section is fully completed, a small golden Mickey icon will appear next to the completed section. Configuration ------------- This is your traditional configuration menu. Will allow you to change many things related to how you want the game to sound, look and feel. Only thing that cannot be changed in this menu is the Game Mode since it is locked once you start the game. Only there to remind you what mode you picked when you started the game if you forgot. D) Gummi Ship Screen (prt7d) ---------------------------- The gummi ships were changed a lot in this game. They are now missions that unlock paths to new world and the system is much faster paced. At the bottom right of your screen, you'll find your ship HP. If you run out of HP, it's game over and you have to start the level again. On the top right corner of the screen, you'll find your score for the level so far, the number of foes you eliminated as well as the number of stars you got for the level. -------------------- 8. The 1st Day ----------- This is it, the beginning of your new adventure! After choosing the settings and watching a few scenes, you'll gain control of a boy named Roxas. Simply approach your 3 friends to get another small scene. You'll get the basics of the game in the first part of the first day as you move along with the scenes. Talk to the accessory shop lady, after a short scene, talk to the old woman looking for her cat. You can target it using the R1 button. Once this is done, you'll be heading for the sandlot. At this point, you'll be challenged by Seifer and his gang. You have to make your first choice of the game. Choose one of the 3 weapons in front of you. The one on the left (Staff) will give you a Magic+1, the one in the middle (Sword) to get Defense+1 or the one on the right (Club) for Attack+1. You will enter a struggle battle with Seifer once you chose your weapon. This is only a practice fight, just get used to the battle controls in here, just play it safe and you'll win this one easily. After the battle, a strange foe will appear and steal your photo. Follow it through the woods and approach it at the Mansion's gates. After a short scene, you'll start fighting the mysterious enemy. After a few swings at it, you'll realise you can't do any damage to it. Another scene later, you'll receive your keyblade and engage the mysterious enemy again. After you defeated it, your keyblade will disappear and you'll get the photos back. After a few scenes, you'll regain control of Roxas. The 2nd Day ----------- You can now save your game for the first time. Follow your friends up to the Market Street after a short scene. From this point, you'll have to make some munny in order to go to the beach. NOTE: You don't actually need to gather any munny to keep moving with the story. However, you can get some bonus AP (Ability Points) if you can gather enough munny. ----------------------- | 50-640 Munny | 0 AP| | 650-1040 Munny | 1 AP| | 1050-1850 Munny | 2 AP| ----------------------- In order to gain some munny, you'll need to do some missions (mini-games). Look at the Help board in the Station Heights and Tram Common areas. The amount of munny you receive for each of them depends on the time you spend to complete the objective. Look in the Missions/Mini-Games sections for more details. The easiest way to get a lot of munny quickly is to do the Poster Duty in the Tram Common which will net you 100 Munny if you do it under 1 minute 30 seconds. Once you're done, head for the Station Plaza North of the Station Heights. A few more scenes again and the 2nd day will come to an end. The 3rd Day ----------- Head out of the Usual Spot and north to the Station Heights. This will once again trigger another sequence of cut scenes. A battle with yet another mysterious enemy will happen after those cut scenes. Again, you'll try to deal some damage to it using your standard weapon without success. After a few hits on it, another cut scene will happen and you'll end up in a place that should feel familiar if you played the first game. In here, yet another choice is available to you. Pick the weapon depending on what skills you want your character to learn first. Picking the sword will allow you to learn attack abilities faster while picking the shield or the staff will let you learn defensive or magic abilities faster. You'll regain control of the keyblade and another battle with mysterious enemies will be triggered. For this battle, just use the Reversal Reaction command and slash the enemy twice, repeat until all 3 of them go down. You'll receive the Aerial Recovery ability for winning this short battle. After the battle, open the chest to receive a Potion. After the short cut scene, save your game and make your way through the door. You are now in the Station of Calling. Make your way up fighting the enemies in your way and grabbing the chest on the first platform for another Potion. Enter the door at the end of the road and you'll get into your first boss fight of the game. ========================================================================== | Name: Twilight Thorn | | HP: 300 | | | | Description: Simple enough. The fight will start with the Thorn trapping | | Roxas. Use your Reaction command to avoid its attack. Hit him a few times| | while he's on the ground. Use the Reaction command to avoid the dark rays| | he uses against you to get to its head. When he gets on his head, mainly | | use the Reaction command to avoid its attack and give him a few strikes | | whenever you can. He'll send enemies (Creepers) at you when he's on his | | head. You can get some exp as well as some HP orbs from those. | | | | After a while, he'll start redoing his previous actions. Just follow the | | previous tips to bring it down. You'll receive an HP Boost as well as the| | Guard ability after the battle. | ========================================================================== Once the battle is over, another sequence of cut scenes will be triggered and the third day will come to an end. The 4th Day ----------- This is the day of the Struggle Battle Tournament! Struggle Battle is really simple. You need to land hits on your opponent and recover the orbs he drops before he gets a chance to get them back. Of course, if you're hit, you'll lose orbs as well. Each opponent starts with 100 orbs, and the person with the most orbs at the end of the fight advances. First of all, you can have a fight with Seifer in the Back Alley if you want to level up a little. Easy fight, but if you want to get to level 3 before entering the struggle tournament, you can do it that way. Just exit and re-enter the Back Alley to have a shot at him more than once. Whenever you're ready, head to the Sandlot and talk to the the NPC near the board who will explain the rules to you. Once you're done, talk to the even manager in the middle of the ring to start the tournament. ROUND 1: Hayner Easy battle. Lock on Hayner and combo him once. Back up a bit to avoid his attack and come back at him repeating the same thing. You should have a lot more orbs than him by the end of the fight. After watching the fight between Vivi and Seifer, you'll be able to start the 2nd round of the tournament by talking to the promoter. ROUND 2: Vivi This fight is a little trickier, but still shouldn't give you much trouble. Once again, land a combo on him right off the start and back up until you see an opportunity to land another combo. You only need to watch out for 1 of his attack. If he starts jumping around you, he's preparing for an attack where he spins in the air and ends it with a long distance thrust. After the battle, another cut scene follows up revealing some more Dusks. Beat the 3 mysterious enemies and another cut scene will follow showing you a new character that you will need to defeat. ========================================================================== | Name: Axel | | HP: 105 | | | | Description: A very easy battle to win. Just avoid his regular attacks by| | moving to his side when he begins his 2 attack combo and hit him with | | your own combo. He'll use a more powerful version of this attack by | | putting his weapon on fire. Just stay away from him during that time to | | easily avoid it. If Axel kneels, he's readying his most powerful attack | | that will bring him in your back and hit you for some damage. This attack| | will leave him wide open for a combo as he will need to rest a little. | ========================================================================== Once you defeat Axel, another cut scene will be triggered revealing another new character. After the cut scene, you're now given the opportunity to face the previous Struggle Champion! FINAL ROUND: Setzer Again, not that hard of a fight to win. Start with a combo again and wait for any opportunities to land a few hits on Setzer. Watch out for his multi- thrusts attack as well as his airborne spinning attack. Both can take away a big chunk of your orbs. NOTE: You don't have to win this battle to proceed with the story. Losing the match will give you a Medal while winning will reward you with a Champion Belt. After the battle, some more cut scenes will be showed and the fourth day will come to an end. The 5th Day ----------- Once you regain control, head to the Station Plaza North of the Station Heights and enter the Central Station there. After a short cut scene, you'll arrive at the Sunset Station. This is where your hunt for the Seven Wonders of Twilight Town will begin. But first, head back to the Central Station by using the train. Once you arrive there, grab the 3 chests on the rails for 2 Potions and a Hi-Potion. You can now go back to Sunset Station to begin your hunt. Go down the stairs there and you'll get to the Sunset Terrace. Speak to Pence whenever you want to see where the 'Wonders' are on the map. First of all, head up the small stairs there and get on top of the train. You should see a treasure chest on top of the column to your left. Open it to receive an Ability Ring. Jump all the way down from the column and grab the chest next to the tree to receive a Potion. From there, head west a little and cross the train track. Head left across the bridge an grab the treasure to get a Hi-Potion. Keep heading west and grab the other treasure chest up the stairs to get a Potion. Head into the next area. Now that you're in Sunset Hill, head to the top and investigate the trash bag. Jump on the bag and just keep pressing the triangle button to complete the investigation of this wonder. Now head back to the Sunset Terrace and head to the south-western most corner of the map. Investigate the waterfall there for another Wonder. ========================================================================== | Name: Shadow Roxas | | HP: 105 | | | | Description: Another easy battle. This guy fights just like you and will | | leave himself open for attack very often. Just combo/move away until you | | defeat him. | ========================================================================== Head North across the train track and take a right upstairs. Cross the small bridge there and investigate the tunnelway just North of you. You'll have to fight multiple Vivis, but they only take 1 hits each to defeat. Once you defeated about a dozen of them, the 4th Wonder will be solved. After the cut scene, head outside the Tunnelway and hug the wall to the left until you reach a brick wall you can investigate near Hayner. Avoid the balls coming toward you and check the wall once you get close enough. This will solve the mystery of the 5th Wonder of Twilight Town. Now, head back to Sunset Hill all the way to the west side of Sunset Terrace to investigate on the 6th Wonder. Once you're back at the Station Plaza, head back into the Station Central and grab the 3 chests near the trains for 2 Potions and a Hi-Potion. Now, let's head for the Haunted Mansion. You can reach it by going through the Woods located all the way to the east in the Tram Common. Once you get to the Mansion, you'll automatically investigate on the 7th Wonder of Twilight Town. After a few more cut scenes, the 5th day will come to an end. The 6th Day ----------- Now is a good opportunity to save your game as you head into the last day of the Kingdom Hearts 2 introduction. Head outside the Usual Spot and after the cut scene, defeat the enemies in your way. Head to the Sandlot to the south and move across it into the Tram Common. Once you're in the Tram Common, head for the Woods' entrance to the right and get to the Mansion area. After the cut scene, you'll now be inside the Mansion. Head straight until you reach the windows there. Grab the chest to get the Hi-Potion. Come back a bit and head up the left stairs grabbing the chest for a Potion. Once on top of the stair, grab the remaining chest in the area for another Potion. Head back down the stairs and get into the blue door left from the entrance. Grab the 2 chests in the Dining Room for a Potion and an Elven Bandanna. Head back to the Mansion Foyer, head up the stairs to your left and enter the room there. You're now in the White Room you previously saw Naminé in. After another cut scene, you'll receive Naminé's Sketches and the Mansion Map. Save your game and head back to the previous room. Stay on the 2nd floor and go all the way to the other side into the Library. After a short cut scene, a new path will open. Go down the stairs and grab the chest for a Hi-Potion. Head into the door. After the cut scene, save your game since a boss fight is coming. Head into the new area and once you're done with the enemies there, you'll have to fight Axel for the 2nd time. ========================================================================== | Name: Axel | | HP: 345 | | | | Description: A bit tougher than the first time, but since you get your | | first taste of dual wielding keyblades, this is definitely a cool fight. | | Just a few things you need to watch out for. But first, let's get the treasure chests around town. Head to the Station Heights and then Tram Common. Once you're there, turn right and grab the chest for a Potion. Move north a bit and follow the tram track all the way to the entrance to the Woods. Grab the chest in the corner for another Potion, then drop from the track and grab the chest there for a Hi-Potion. Keep following the track around until you can go up the stairs near the Accessory Shop. Follow the path and take a right when you can to get to the Mythril Shard in the treasure chest there. Head directly east from your position and you should see another treasure chest on a rooftop. Get on the small brick wall to get to the treasure chest containing another Mythril Shard. Head back to where you first turned right and you should see another treasure chest to your right. Grab it for a Tent and then make your way across the inclined rooftops until you reach yet another treasure chest containing an AP Boost near the Woods' entrance. Head into the Woods. There are 3 treasure chests more or less hidden among the trees. You'll get a Potion, a Mythril Shard and a Hi-Potion from those 3. You can now head back to the Tram Common, go to the Station Heights and finally reach the Station Plaza from there. Once you reach the Plaza, a cut scene will be triggered and you'll have to fight a few Nobodies. First of all, grab the 3 chests right behind you for an Ether, a Hi-Potion and a Mythril Shard. You can speak to the Moogle to buy some new equipment or if you want to hand over some synthesis materials. Save your game and proceed to the next area when you're done. Once you're in the Encampment, move a bit forward to trigger another cut scene. A battle against a few heartless will follow. The way things work around here is a bit different. Not only will you lose if Sora dies , but you'll also get the Game Over screen if your party morale goes all the way down. Raise your morale by defeating enemies and grabbing the orbs they will drop. You'll get the Encampment Area Map after the cut scene following the battle. When you're ready, talk to the Captain who will then ask you to complete 3 missions to prove Ping is worth joining the army. In these 3 missions, try to complete with as much Morale as possible. The Surprise Attack ------------------- Objective: Defeat 15 Heartless Simple enough, just kill the 15 heartless that will spawn in the area and make sure you collect orbs to keep your party morale up. Shouldn't give you much trouble. Don't bother with the treasure chests in the mission, you'll be able to revisit a bit later and grab them. The Ambush ---------- Objective: Defeat the Hearless Like the first mission, except a bit harder since you'll have to defeat some Assault Riders this time around. If you can manage to knock those on their back, quickly finish them off with more combos, they can deal some damage with their spears. The Search ---------- Objective: Defeat the hidden Heartless A bit diferent this time around. You'll have to find and kill 8 Heartless that will pop around the camp without running out of Morale. This shouldn't be much trouble either if you use the lock-on enemy function (R1) to quickly find them. Once you've done all the missions, you'll receive an AP Boost. Once you can control your character again, you'll be asked to complete 1 more mission. First, head to the Checkpoint and grab the 2 chests I told you not to bother with during the missions to get a Hi-Potion and a Mythril Shard. Once you got those, you can immediately head to the next area North of the Checkpoint to trigger the next mission. This one is a little more tricky as you'll need to not only reach the summit and kill the heartless, you also have to break some rock walls as you run through the area. Anyway, there are 4 treasure chests in this area that you should be able to get without wasting too much time. The first one is right in front of you after you break the second wall, it contains a Hi-Potion. Come back a little and climb on the rocky steps. You should see the treasure chest from there. Grab it for a Mythril Shard. Next, keep moving north and climb on the platform in the top left corner. There are 2 chests there that contain an Ether and the Recovery Recipe. Head to the last rocky wall to break. 2 Assault Riders will pop there one after the other, but if you can get the first one out of the way, take the opportunity to break that wall and just head to the next area. These heartless can easily take away all of your party Morale. After the cut scene, you'll get the Village Area Map. Talk to the Moogle if you want to hand over your synthesis items or buy some new armors. If you didn't get the 4 items in the Mountain Trail, now is a good time to do it. When you're ready, head outside the village to the North, save your game and go into the cave East of the save point. Grab the first chest to the left for a Hi-Potion and destroy the carts on your way. You'll find a hidden treasure chest under one of them containing an AP Boost. Move a little further in the cave and a cut scene will follow. After the cut scene, you'll need to defeat all the heartless in the cave with Sora and Ping only. After the battle, Sora will obtain the Slide Dash ability and Ping will receive and HP Boost and Hyper Healing. Head back to the Village and you'll be welcomed by another cut scene. Your next objective will be to head to the Summit. Buy some equipment and save your game before going up there. Head North when you're ready. Grab the 2 chests on the edge for a Hi-Potion and an AP Boost. Keep moving forward and you'll trigger another cut scene followed by a fight in which only Sora will fight. All you need to do in this battle is survive until the time runs out, kill as many heartless as you can to gain as much exp as possible for Sora. After the fight, yet another cut scene will follow and Mulan will then learn many new abilities as well as a rather big AP boost. Sora will also learn the new 'Limit' Command combining a friend's power to his to create special attacks. Make your way back down and after a short cut scene, you'll need to head all the way back down the mountain. Once you're back at the checkpoint, you'll see a new path is now opened for you to explore. Head there and you'll reach the Imperial City. After the cut scene, destroy the heartless and head for the palace. Once you reach it, you'll have to fight Shan Yu. ========================================================================== | Name: Shan-Yu | | HP: 442 | | | | Description: This battle has a little twist to it. Save your game and head through the blue door into the Care of the Dead. Get through the hole in the rock and at the first intersection, take a left. Grab the Mythril Shard there and the Ether a bit further in the corridor. Keep moving forward and grab the AP Boost on your way. At the next split, take the right path and grab the Hi-Potion there. Turn around and make your way down the path. Before moving into the next room, grab the chest to get a Mythril Stone. Once you're in the Inner Chamber, grab the 2 chests for a Mythril Shard and the Underworld Map. Save your game here and move into the next area. Make your way to the top defeating any Heartless in your way and move into the next room. After the cut scene, you'll start fighting with Hades, but something won't be right and you'll be forced to retreat. Back in the Valley of the Dead, you'll now have to make your way back down to the exit. Barriers will be put up on each platforms on your way down. All you have to do to deactivate those is to defeat the Heartless standing in your way. Since you won't be able to use your Drive gauge, make good use of your MP to unleash Limits on the Heartless standing in your way. The first 2 platforms shouldn't give you too much trouble, so I suggest making sure you have full MP to unleash a Limit on the platform just before the exit. Keep in mind you won't be able to hurt Hades on your way down, keep an eye on his fire balls too as they could be deadly. Once you cleared the last platform, head back into the Cave of the Dead. After a few scenes, you'll now have to make your way back all the way to the room where you first met Meg. After you reach the top, you'll realise the door is now locked. It has a fast attack where he'll | | spin around trying to damage you and Auron. It can be avoided by jumping | | if you're quick enough though. If you stay far for some time, it will | | start shooting dark fire balls. You can avoid those by moving around the | | place or timing your jump if you're lucky. Just keep attacking one of the| | head on the side and you shouldn't have much trouble beating it. Make | | good use of Auron's Bushido Limit to inflict great damage to the boss. | | | | If you manage to attack one of the head at the same time it tries to | | attack you, you might enter a three stage Reaction command where you'll | | be able to deal a lot of damage to the Cerberus, knocking it down for a | | short amount of time. | | | | After the fight, Sora will receive the Dodge Slash ability and Auron will| | get a HP Boost. | ========================================================================== Once you're back at the Underworld Entrance, make your way up the stairs to the Coliseum. Here, you'll be granted by Hercules. You'll receive the map of the Coliseum after the short cut scene. While Hercules is off to get you the Olympus Stone that will allow you to use your full strength in the Underworld, he suggests you have some training with Phil again. Clear both the Practice and Maniac Mode in Phil's Training and Sora will get the Aerial Spin ability. Hercules is now back, so talk to him to trigger the next event. Now, make your way back in the Underworld. After the cut scene, you'll notice the path that was previously blocked by a fire wall is now opened. Save your game and grab the chest to receive a Power Boost then head through the green door. In that room, drop just right of the entrance and grab the Mythril Shard in the chest. Make your way into the next room. In this room, grab the Ether just right of the center pillar. From where you entered, take the first path to your left, grab the Hi-Potion in the chest and take the exit between the 2 lanterns. Grab the 2 chests in there to get and AP Boost and another Hi-Potion then come back in the previous room. Take a left there and grab the chest to receive a Mythril Stone. Take the path on the other side of the pillar and move all the way to the other side of the place ignoring the exit left. Grab the chest at the end to get yet another Mythril Shard then go through the exit you previously ignored. Grab the chest in the alcove to the right for a Tent then make your way up the slope. Once you managed to | | do that, all that's left to do is defeat Pete. | | | | Pete has an ability that will make him invincible for a short amount of | | time. Use that opportunity to heal yourself or just wait until his spell | | runs out. Pete will summon more Heartless at some point, just make sure | | you get rid of them as they come and this fight really shouldn't be a | | problem. Use your Drive Form if it's available, it will make this fight | | even easier. | | | | Hercules come to help your group once you brought him down, but it seems | | Pete and his Heartless might be too much even for a true hero like him. | | You'll have to defeat Pete once more without worrying about Meg this time| | though. But there's one more thing you need to worry about now: a time | | limit. The cave is about to collapse and you only have 2 minutes to | | defeat him now. | | | | When Pete summons a big boulder over your head, make sure you get close | | to Hercules and use the Aura Guard ability to nullify the attack. Other | | than that, just keep hitting Pete with all you've got and he should go | | down fast enough. | | | | After the fight, Sora will receive the Trinity Limit ability while Goofy | | gets Hyper Healing and Donald receives a HP Boost. | ========================================================================== Back at the Underworld Entrance, save your game then head back to the Coliseum where you'll have to face one more boss. ========================================================================== | Name: Hydra | | HP: 462 | | | | Description: This fight is a little tricky and can be tedious if you | | don't do it right, so prepare for a long battle if that's your first time| | through it. The Hydra will start the fight by whipping its tail at you | | twice, simply jump over it to avoid. You won't be able to hit it yet, but| | when it lowers its head to ground level, take the opportunity to give it | | all you've got. It will also cast some spell following Sora around, so be| | careful not to take too much damage from that or heal yourself after it | | whips its tail at you once more. | | | | A reaction command ability named Vanquish will let you quickly knock the | | Hydra to the ground. This will pop the 4 heads of the Hydra to come out | | of the ground. Quickly bring each of them down THEN USE THE VANQUISH | | reaction command on it. If you don't, the head will simply bring itself | | back to life after a short time. | | | | When Phil starts screaming at you to "Get up on the Hydra's back", do so | | from behind the Hydra and use the Phil One-Two Reaction command on the | | Hydra. This move will knock out the Hydra's head for a while allowing you| | to easily defeat them. Once you've defeated all the heads, the Hydra will| | pop out of the ground will all of its head this time. It has the same | | attacks as the first form, except it will now use a head stomp with all | | of its head. You can deal damage to it by hitting the head on the far | | right side. Watch out for its final attack where it will furiously try to| | bite your head off with all its head at once. Use the Reaction command | | Pegasus Run to cancel it, it will also deal great damage to the Hydra. | | After you brought all of the Hydra's HP down, use the Vanquish command | | one last time to eliminate it for good. | | | | After the fight, Sora will receive a HP Boost as well as the Thunder | | Element while Donald gains an Extra Armor Slot and Goofy gets a HP Boost.| ========================================================================== After some more cut scenes, you'll receive the Hero's Crest keyblade. Save your game here and follow the path into the Courtyard. There are 7 chests in this area, so I suggest you look around a bit to find all of them. From where you entered, there's one right in front of you, one in the corner to your right, one straight to your left, another one to your left and up a bit, 2 near and on the center building and once completely in the back. You'll receive an Ether, an AP Boost, a Mythril Stone, 2 Mythril Shard, a Star Recipe and a Hi-Potion. Once you're done, head through the door. In here, even though Heartless are popping out everywhere, don't bother fighting them, at least not for too long, as they will keep coming out of the ground no matter how many you kill. Just move all the way to the end of the corridor and through the door there. Once you're in the Library, grab the Torn Pages to the right and speak to Queen Minnie. After Donald and Goofy leave the party, you'll receive the Castle Map. You now have to escort Queen Minnie to the Audience Chamber. Before that, make sure Sora is well equipped and save your game, the next part might be a little tough. Back to the Colonnade, defeat any Heartless in the way and let Queen Minnie open the sealed door for you. Use the Faith command to quickly destroy the weaker enemies and use the Call Over command to make the Queen come to you. Use Finish once you reach the door. The next part might be a little hard as you'll have to defeat a very large group of Bolt Towers in order to reach the throne with the Queen by your side. Since the next fight may be troublesome for some of you, here's a small strategy to make things a bit easier. If you want to do this the easy way (also the slowest way), just wait for the Bolt Towers to reach you and Queen Minnie then use the Faith Reaction command to blast them away. Wait until they come back, rinse and repeat. If you want to take them on after the other, you might find it a bit hard as the Bolt Towers will quickly reach the Queen, dealing damage to her fairly quickly. Choose the way you prefer, using Valor Form here might be a good idea. Another easy way is to simply use Faith, move forward a bit on the carpet, use Call Over and Faith again real quick. The Bolt Towers will never get a chance to hit you and you should reach the Throne in no time. Once you reach the throne, use the Finish command again to complete the task. Sora will get an Extra Accessory Slot and the Auto Summon ability for completing this part. After the cut scene, head back to Hollow Bastion to talk with Merlin. Grab the Hi-Potion and the Mythril Shard from the 2 chests in this area then talk to Pete on the Pier. You'll have to fight Pete here, but since this fight is so easy, I don't think I ever need to go in details here. Just hit him with all you've got until he starts running around in panic. Use the About-Face Reaction command when he does to calm him down. Repeat until the fight is over (most likely within 30 seconds). After a few scenes, you'll be back at the Cornerstone Hill and some windows will be floating in mid-air. Before going in any of those windows, head to the Waterway just behind those windows. Grab to chest to your right to get another Hi-Potion then move all the way left. Grab the Mythril Stone and the AP Boost then return to the Cornerstone Hill. You now have to 'clear' every windows you see there. They each contain different types of Heartless you will need to defeat, some harder than the other. Here's a small strategy for each of them starting from the left side. Building Site ============= In this area, you have to defeat all of the enemies before the scaffolding is destroyed. After the scaffolding took some damage, its Mayhem bar will slowly fill and it will start bouncing up and down very quickly sending you and everything else on it in the air. Lock on one of the Heartless and deal air combos to one after the other to quicly get rid of all of 'em. Lilliput ======== In here, you need to defeat all the enemies before they destroy the entire town. You can make things easier by using the Stomp Bomb Reaction command associated with the tower in the middle of the village. Then again, you most likely won't need it as this fight is fairly easy. You just need to hit them with all you've got and the town shouldn't take any significant damage. Scene of the Fire ================= If you wanted to use your Valor Form, now would be a good time as it is easily the toughest of the 4 doors. The Hot Rods (cars) are extremely fast and can really complicate things really fast as they are fairly hard to hit. The objective here is to prevent the enemies from making the fire any worse than it already is by defeating them. Mickey's House ============== In here, you have to prevent the Heartless from destroying... the furniture. A vacuum in the middle of the room will slowly absorb Mickey's furniture, so you have to defeat the Heartless before the Mayhem gauge is full. This is a simply battle as you'll only be facing Rapid Thrusters and Shadows. Just keep making combos and you should defeat all of them well before the gauge is filled. Once you've cleared the 4 windows, you'll receive the Window of Time Map. Once you regain control, save your game and head for the Waterway behind the windows. An event battle will then trigger and you'll have to prevent Pete from stealing the Cornerstone, here's a small strategy. This battle is a little tricky, but still fairly easy. First off, Pete will start throwing objects at you. Use the Juggle Parry Reaction command to send those objects back at him. After a few hits, the beat will spin out of control and you'll be able to break the box containing the Cornerstone. Grab onto the hook and start dealing damage to the box as quickly as possible. If the hook tries to knock you off, use the Hang On Reaction command to remain able to deal damage to the box. If you fail to hold onto it, you'll have to defeat a few Minute Bombs before being able to get back on the hook and start dealing damage to the box again. If you take too much time, Pete will get away on the Steamboat and you'll have to start over again. Once the fight is over, Sora will get the Slapshot ability, Donald will receive Fantasia and Auto Limit while Goofy gets a HP Boost. Pete isn't done with you just yet, head to the Wharf to face him in a more traditional way one more time. ========================================================================== | Name: Pete | | HP: 784 | | | | Description: A little bonus here, the old Pete will join you in this | | fight against bad Pete. The fight is pretty straight forward and you have| | little to nothing to worry about. Pete will randomly throw some small | | bombs on the ground and a bigger one every now and then. When you hear | | him say "Get out of my way!", get ready to avoid a stomping attack that | | will create a shockwave. Simply stay away from it or time your jump to | | avoid the shockwave. | | | | If the old Pete gets a little freaked out after taking some damage, you | | can use the About-Face Reaction command to calm him down as he can be of | | some help in battle. After a while, Pete will switch area bringing you | | along with him. You'll start out with the Scene of the Fire, followed by | | Mickey's House, Lilliput and then the Building Site. Pete will use his | | invincibility spell near the end of the battle and each sites will have | | their proper characteristics from before. Which means the vacuum will | | pull you in in Mickey's House and the scaffolding will send you in the | | air on the Building Site. Keep dealing damage to it until Pete finally | | goes down. | | | | After the battle, Sora will get a HP Boost and the Reflect Element while | | Donald gets a HP Boost and Goofy receives the Goofy Tornado ability. | ========================================================================== After a few scenes, you'll receive the Monochrome keyblade. After a few more scenes, you'll also receive the Wisdom Form. From here, you have 2 choices. You can either move on with the story or do a few side-quests. A new episode was added to the 100 Acre Wood world and you can unlock the completely optional Atlantica as well. You can find more details on Atlantica (prt10b) and the 100 Acre Woods (prt10a) in the side-quests section. Instead of taking the exit just south of you, move all the way to the other side of the Rampart. Grab the chest with the Ether near one of the cannon and keep moving. Grab the chest here for a Mythril Stone. Go all the way back to the beginning and take the southern exit near the save point. After a short scene, you'll have to defeat a small group of pirates. The pirates here are a little tricky as they can only be defeated when they're under the moonlight. Otherwise, they're invulnerable to any attacks. Once the fight is over, follow the pirates into town. After you cleared the Heartless, there are 4 treasure chests in this area. Head back to the beginning of the area and destroy the crates there to open a new path. Grab the Mythril Shard in the chest, move a bit to the left and immediately left again in the small opening. The treasure chest in here contains an AP Boost. Take the path in in front of you and turn right when you see some more destructible crates. Grab the chest there for an Ether. Destroy the crates and it will reveal another treasure chest containing a Mythril Gem. Move into the more opened space and take the exit to the Harbor. Once you're ready, talk to Will and leave the Harbor. After some scenes, you are free to look around the Interceptor for a bit. You will find a Shop and a Save Point in the Ship's Hold if you need anything. When you're ready, talk to Captain Jack Sparrow and select the Black Pearl as your destination. Defeat the few Heartless that will attack you during the trip. Once you regain control, save your game and move toward the cave. You'll see 2 chests on the left side, they contain an Ether and a Mythril Shard. Move into the next area and after the short cut scene, you'll enter a fight where you'll to survive the pirates' attack for a minute. Nothing to worry about, just remember you cannot kill these unless they're in the moonlight. After a few scenes, you'll receive the Isla de Muerta map. Back on the Interceptor, save your game and set your destination to Port Royal by talking to Will. On your way to Port Royal, you'll be attacked by a group of undead pirates. Same strategy as always, bring them under the moonlight to defeat them. After a few scenes, an event battle will start and you'll have to defeat an even larger group of pirates this time around. The strategy here is really simple, the same as before. This time though, you'll be losing the medallion if you get hit by the pirates, so make sure you hit them right back if they take it. The pirate with the medallion will have a small medallion over his head, so make sure you hit that one first so you can retreive the medallion within 60 seconds. The Black Pearl will be shooting at you, so keep an eye on the cannon balls that may be coming at you. After the fight, Sora and Goofy will get a HP Boost while Donald will receive the Draw ability. Once you regain control, head on the bridge and a small event battle will be triggered. You need to get rid of the 5 burning barrels before they blow up the ship. Just use the Launch Reaction command next to one of them to throw them overboard. Careful though, Heartless WILL try to make the barrels explode if you don't dispose of them at the same time as the barrels, so make sure you take care of the Heartless as well. Once you got rid of all the barrels, Sora will gain an Extra Item Slot, Donald and Jack will get a HP Boost and Goofy will get the Second Chance ability. Back on Isla de Muerta, save your game and keep moving forward until you reach the Powder Store area. A pirate will blast the crates blocking your way and will start attacking. Defeat it and grab the chest with an AP Boost. A bit further in, 2 more pirates will attack you. Defeat them and destroy the last set of crates on the right to reveal a chest containing another AP Boost. Move into the next area and after defeating a few more pirates, grab the 3 chests in the area. You'll get a Mythril Shard, a Mega-Potion and an Ether. Into the next area, a boss fight will follow... ========================================================================== | Name: Barbossa | | HP: 612 | | | | Description: This fight is a little tricky. Barbossa can only be damaged | | under the moonlight and the creature Pete summons before the fight begins| | can plunge the cavern into complete darkness. If that ever happens, stop | | hitting Barbossa and look for 2 glowing eyes around the room. Once you've| | found them, hit the Illuminator until it dies to bring some light back in| | the cave. The Illuminator has very little HP, so you'll be able to kill | | it in just a few hits. | | | | Barbossa has some very fast attacks he'll be using through the entire | | fight that can do some pretty good damage to your party members. Some of | | them can be countered with some Reaction command, but they are so fast | | you might not even be able to use them properly. Make sure to cast a few | | Thunder spells during the fight as they will slow down Barbossa for a | | while allowing you to deal some quick damage to him. Keep an eye out for | | his bombs as they can do some pretty big damage to you and your friends. | | | | Using Drive forms here will definitely help you. I personally recommend | | Wisdom Form since you'll be able to attack him from distance and cast a | | few powerful Thunder spells on Barbossa, which you cannot do in Valor. | | Still, both forms come in handy during this fight, so whoever your third | | party member is won't really matter. | | | | Note that if Jack gets killed at any point during this fight, it's game | | over for you. | | | | After the battle, Sora will get a Drive Gauge Power Up and the Aerial | | Finish ability. Donald and Jack will each get a HP Boost while Goofy will| | receive the Teamwork and Auto Limit abilities. | ========================================================================== After a few more scenes, you'll receive the Follow the Wind keyblade and 2 new paths will open on the world map. Go up the stairs to your left and grab the 2 chests there containing a Hi-Potion and a Mythril Shard. Follow the rooftop path and you'll reach another chest containing a Drive Recovery. Head left on the upper rooftop and grab the chest with a Mythril Stone. Follow the path and open the chest near the building for another Mythril Shard. Follow the path and drop to the left for another chest with an AP Boost. If you look across the street, you should see another chest below your level. Jump on the block to reach it and you'll obtain a Mega-Ether. All that's left to do is to head all the way north to the Palace. After a few scenes, head back to the Peddler's Shop in the south east corner of Agrabah. You now need to head to the Cave of Wonders. Take the exit right next to the Peddler's Shop into the Bazaar. Explore the area and defeat any Heartless popping out of the stands here. There are 5 chests in here. Start by moving to the upper level and grab the chest on the ledge to get a Mythril Gem. The chest in the middle of the place contains a Hi-Potion. Move south a bit and get the AP Boost. Behind the stands to your left if a well hidden Mythril Shard. You might need to break a few stands with your magic to get to that one. Get the one near the big door to receive one more Hi-Potion. You can now leave through the door next to the chest. Grab the chest behind the save point to receive a Mythril Stone and the one near your friends contains a Skill Ring. Once you're ready, save your game and head to the Cave of Wonders. Grab the 2 chests located behind the entrance to the cave to receive a Drive Recovery and a Mythril Shard. Enter the Cave of Wonders. Once you're in the Valley of Stone part of the cave, you should already see 4 chests if you look around a little. The one right in front of you contains a Hi-Potion. Go left a little and this one contains a Mythril Shard. Move forward a little and jump on the platform to reach the AP Boost. Completely on the other side is a chest containing a Mythril Stone. You can now head to the next section of the Cave of Wonders. Examine the floating jewel and you'll have to lead Abu to the pedestal. Just use the Go Abu Reaction command along with the Jump Reaction whenever a wave gets close to Abu and leave the falling ice to your party members. Once you reach the end, use the Set the jewel Reaction to open the next area. Sora, Goofy and Aladdin will each receive a HP Boost while Donal will gain Donald Blizzard. Save your game and head to the Chasm of Challenge. Activate the challenge and you'll now have to defeat a bunch of Heartless within 2 minutes. The floors will disappear as you defeat more and more Heartless. If all the floors run out though, it's game over for you, so make sure you quickly defeat the weaker enemies so you have plenty of time once you reach the lower floors. On the last level, the Fortunetellers might stay out of reach to attack with your keyblade. Chain a few Thunder spells to quickly take them out and the challenge will be completed. Grab the 2 chests on the left and right side of the door to receive an AP Boost and the Cave of Wonders Map. Save your game and examine the writings to open the big door. Enter the next Cave of Wonders Treasure Room and watch a short cut scene. The first part of the next battle is really easy, just use the Shift Shot Reaction command to defeat the Silver Rocks and quickly dispose of the Icy Cubes and Fiery Globes. Once those are down, you'll have to defeat 3 Fat Bandits at once in a restrained area. Try to knock them down as fast as possible so you can use the Full Swing Reaction command. Once one of them goes down, the rest should be easy. Sora, Donald and Aladdin will get a HP Boost at the end of the fight and Goofy will learn Auto Healing. Once you're back in Agrabah, leave for the World Map, and re-enter Agrabah at the Chasm of Challenges save point. Enter the Treasure Room and grab the 2 treasure chests on the right and left side of the room to receive an AP Boost and a Serenity Shard. You can now leave the place for good and head back to Agrabah. Back in Agrabah, save your game and head for the Palace all the way north. After a short scene, you'll be left to fight a double boss... ========================================================================== | Name: Volcanic Lord/Blizzard Lord | | HP: 361/361 | | | | Description: This fight puts you against the 2 opposites: fire and ice. | | Obviously, casting a fire spell on the Volcanic Lord won't have any | | effect just like casting ice on the Blizzard Lord won't hurt it. When the| | Volcanic Lord starts bouncing around, get under it for a Reaction command| | that will allow you to send him colliding with the other foe, this will | | deal pretty good damage to both of them. | | | | When the Blizzard Lord starts inflating, use the Reaction command next to| | it to send it away and possibly make both of them collide together again.| | This is a fairly simple battle if you make the most out of the Reaction | | commands Firagun and Blizzagun. First, you | | have to use the Fore Reaction command to hit presents on Oogie Boogie. | | A glass is protecting him, so you have to break it. Once Oogie Boogie is | | knocked down, that's where you need to start doing damage to him. Hit him| | with all you've got until he pulls back to his box. If Oogie changes his | | lane, you'll have to do the same by entering the hole at the end of the | | conveyor belt. Sora will go where the other blue opening is, so make sure| | you time yourself correctly or you'll end up on the wrong lane again. | | | | Oogie will be shooting various objects at you from his glass box, make | | sure you avoid them. The punching glove coming down on you can be easily | | avoided by timing yourself correctly. Just run past it and this shouldn't| | be an issue. When Oogie is knocked down his box, the conveyor belts will | | also stop making it easier for you to get those big combos in. Oogie will| | also send blue/purple boxes containing Heartless. Those boxes are smaller| | than the box you can knock back at him and don't have any chains around | | them either, so they're easy to identify. | | | | Oogie Boogie doesn't have a lot of HP, but you'll need to bring him down | | at least 3 times to finish him off. It takes around 10 boxes to knock him| | down his box. Whenever he goes back to his box, the conveyor belt will go| | very fast, so make sure you jump and keep pushing forward to avoid being | | damage by the spikes at the end of the conveyor belt. As you see, Sora and his 2 partners got transformed in animals here, which means Sora will get a brand new set of abilities adapted to his form. Sora is also much faster as a lion than he is in normal form. You might want to try and get used to your new controls in the first area of the game as it can be a little weird at first. Notice the treasure chest are shapped like eggs, so try to keep that in mind in this level. After a short scene, grab the 3 chests in the first area to obtain the Savannah Map, an Ether and a Mythril Stone. Save your game and head for the next area. In the Elephant graveyard, an event battle will be triggered and you'll have to defeat 2 Living Bones. Use the Rodeo Reaction command to make this fight a bit easier. After the fight, grab the chest right in front of you to get a Hi-Potion. Head south and take a left at the next intersection to reach a chest containing an AP Boost. Simply follow the path and watch to your left near the open area. You should see a chest with a Mythril Shard. Jump on the platform right next to the chest and you'll see another one with a Mythril Stone. Head north, grab the chest near the next area to get an Ether and you're ready to go to the next area. The Savannah is a huge area to travel, even for a lion. Luckily, they didn't put any treasure chests around here, that means you can head directly to the Pride Rock all the way to the north of the Savannah. After the cut scene, head to the left and look for the chest with the Pride Rock Map near the edge. Move along the rock to the left and you'll soon see another chest with a Mega-Ether. There's one more chest under the big rock formation containing a Mythril Stone. If you want to, you can save your game in the Stone Hollow just right of the entrance to the Pride Rock. When you're ready, head back to the Savannah. After a few more scenes, head to the Wildebeest Valley in the south east corner of the map. After a few more scenes, Sora will learn the Dash ability which can be used by pressing down the square button. There's a chest between the 2 rocks right in front of you. Get the Hi-Potion from it. Move around the rock to the right and grab the Mythril Stone there. Keep moving left and you should see a treasure chest behind a big rock near the wall. It
